Impact Behavior at Composite Material of Aluminium Double Cantilever Beam with Two Kinds of Materials

This study was analyzed dynamically by finite element method about the results of experiments which the double cantilever beam specimens with two kinds of materials were applied by impact load. And they were compared with each other as the simulation data applied onto impact velocities of 6.4 and 18.47 m/s. The crack energy release rate, force and displacement of block were calculated numerically by computer. As the numerical simulation data of specimen analyzed in this study approached the experimental data, the inspection of this specimen model suggested in this paper could be reasonable for the numerical simulation.
A Study on Simulation Analysis of Fatigue Deformation at Automotive Arm

The safety and the durability of the arm as an automotive chassis part under the fatigue can be predicted in this study. The fatigue life is sharply decreased from 0.5 to 0.75 at the change of load which is the amplitude load divided by average load. But its life is slightly decreased at the change of load from 0.75 to 1.5. The influence of fatigue life according to the change of load can be predicted by these results. As the value of maximum damage is 2.2 and the value of maximum compressive strain or stress is
or 349 Mpa at the connected part of rod end applied by concentrated load respectively, there is the greatest possibility of destruction due to the compression at this part.
Tribological Characteristics of TiC, TiN Coating for PVD Method with Automotive structural Materials

We have studied on the tribological characteristics of Plasma Vapour Deposition(PVD) coating method in Automotive Structural Materials. Coating materials were deposited by the Titanium carbide(TiC) and Titanium nitride(TiN). An experimental process was established to determine the tribological characteristics of friction and wear behaviour with the variation of applied load, temperature and the time with the Falex friction and wear test machine. It was improved that when the surface modification of hard coatings(TiC, TiN) was deposited steel, the tribological characteristics become better. It is argued that it is improved because of excellence of the anti-wear, the extreme pressure properties and tile heat stability.
Power-aware Test Framework for NoC(Network-on-Chip)

In this paper, we propose the power-aware test framework for Network-on-Chip, which is based on embedded processor and on-chip network. First, the possibility of using embedded processor and on-chip network isintroduced and evaluated with benchmark system to test the other embeddedcores. And second, a new generation method of test pattern is presented to reduce the power consumption of on-chip network, which is called don't care mapping. The experimental results show that the embedded processor can be executed like the automatic test equipments, and the test time is reduced and the power consumption is reduced up to 8% at the communication components.
A Study on the Improvement for Power Quality Problems Caused by Electrical Arc Furnace in Power Systems

This paper deals with a powerful countermeasure for power quality problems caused by the operation of electrical arc furnace in bulk power systems. The rapid active load fluctuations of electrical arc furnace could produce several problems such as voltage flicker and active power oscillations. The typical methods using only the reactive power compensation have their own limitation in solving the power quality problems caused by active load variations. The coordination of both active and reactive power compensation is required to solve the power quality problems. This paper focuses on the impacts and the dynamic phenomena caused by the active load fluctuation. This paper proposes the optimal algorithm for the active power compensation based on the function of 1(n ratio and the concepts for the active power compensation. The results from a case study show that the proposed methods can be a practical tool for the power quality problems in power systems.

High frequency characteristics of the inductance(L), quality factor(Q), impedance(Z), and equivalent circuit parameters of the RE chip inductors were measured and analyzed using an RF impedance/material analyzer(HP4291B with HP16193A test fixture). It was observed that the RF chip inductors with the number of turns of 9 to 12 have the inductance of 21 to 34nH and exhibit the self-resonant frequency(SRF) of 5.7 to 3.7GHz. The SRF of inductors decreases with increasing the inductance and inductors have the quality factor of 38 to 49 in the frequency range of 900MHz to 1,7GHz.
A Study on the ADC for High Speed Data Conversion

Development of Cause Classification Method for Improving Reliability of Electrical Fire Statistics

Electrical fires form over 30 percent of fires, but the study on the reliability of electrical fire statistics is not performed. Electrical roe occupancy was very high due to investigating and classifying fires, which is not directly continuous with electrical cause, as electrical fire because insufficiency of cause classification method or system, and the problems of the reliability of electrical fire statistics were presented. So, the reliability of electrical fire statistics must be guaranteed by improvement of the existing cause classification method of electrical fire. This paper analyzed the problems of electrical rue statistics by the existing cause classification method of electrical fire and presented the new method to classify causes of electrical fire.
Study on Stability Enhancement of P-type ZnO Thin Film Properties

Development of Basking Neodymium Lamp Improving Reflector Globe and Rhenium Filament

This paper examines and analyzes improvement of structure of bulb, increase of luminous efficiency through application of reflector globe through aluminum coating and development of 60[W] basking neodymium lamp through optimum insertion ratio of krypton gas and nitrogen gas. The results of this development shows that the life of the lamp was 7,200 hours, and the luminous flux was 620[1m]. This brings in superior color temperature and superior color rendering index, which allows us to use that lamp for agricultural or general purpose.

Problems and Improvement Method of Safety Management of Electrical Facilities for General Use

In spite of regular electrical safety inspection and improvement management of incongruent facilities, over 80 percent of electrical fires were generated in electrical facilities for general use, and the prevention of electrical safety accidents gets more difficult because of incomprehension on electrical safety inspection system, the increasement of non-inspection electrical facilities user, un-installation of residual current protective devices and leaving unsuitable equipments alone. This paper analyzed electrical safety inspection system of electrical facilities for general use and results of safety inspection and electrical fire statistics, and deducted the related problems. Also, improvement method of safety management of electrical facilities for general use was proposed in view of electrical safety inspection system, inspection implementation method, electrical fire statistics establishment, electrical safety consciousness and remote electrical safety inspection system.

In this paper, we suggest postal RFID adaptation model and system architecture which can be used for real time trace and track of parcel processing and pallet management. This paper also shows postal RFID application system testbed based on the proposed postal RFID application model and architecture, and shows recognition performance of tag on parcel and pallet by speed and mounting tag material such as thin cans, water bottles, and paper using implemented postal RFID system to find the best solution for RFID adaptation in postal logistics environment. In the experiment, we can know recognition performance of paper and aluminium foil is better than water bottles and thin cans.
Analytical Study on the Handoff Duration Time

The handoff area is the region where a call can be handled by two base stations in any of the adjacent cells, and duration time is defined as the time a mobile station resides in the handoff area. It is proven that handoff duration time follows gamma distribution from simulation results. So in this paper, parameters(shape and scale) in gamma distribution are derived by analytic method. And mean, standard deviation, and parameters are compared with simulation results for verification of analytic method.
Double Resonance Characteristics of Crossed Planar Monopole Antenna by L-Shaped Slit

In this paper, a novel wideband crossed planar monopole antenna with the double resonance characteristics is proposed. The proposed monopole antenna consists of a wideband crossed planar monopole antenna and L-shaped slits. In order to generate double resonance characteristics on the proposed monopole antenna, the length of L-shaped slit on the antenna surface is obtained from the quarter-wavelength of the second resonance frequency The double resonance characteristics of the proposed antenna can be easily designed by the control of length of L shaped slit at an interesting frequency. The proposed antenna having an omnidirectional radiation pattern and a high gain over the double resonance frequency bands, respectively, is suitable for mobile multiband antenna.
Developing a CIS Camera Interface for Embedded Systems

Recently, camera function is one of the most primary functions out of the multimedia capabilities in the small mobile terminals. But, it has been difficult for implementing embedded devices with low cost because of not supporting camera interface in many SoCs. Thus, this paper presents a method of supporting camera function with ease for embedded devices which has not camera interface. For this purpose, the interface is implemented for a CMOS image sensor. The method is also provided that CIS(CMOS Image Sensor) is supported in the embedded system by programming the device driver.

In this paper, we propose an error control coding scheme for constant-amplitude multicode-biorthogonal modulation. The product code is appropriate to the constant-amplitude multicode-biorthogonal modulation for the bit error rate performance improvement. In the constant-amplitude multicode-biorthogonal modulation, the vertical redundant bits are used for the constant amplitude coding. An Efficient Secure Dissemination of XML data in Peer-to-Peer Networks

As XML is becoming a standard for representation and exchange of abundant information on the Web, solutions for a secure and selective dissemination of XML data, known as SDI, are strongly demanded. Such trends are more outstanding especially in distributed heterogeneous environment such as Peer-to-Peer. Although many approaches have been proposed to provide secure and efficient SDI mechanisms, almost previous approaches have focused only on filtering with user profile and they adopt center-oriented administration approaches. It is therefore difficult to adapt them directly to the distributed Peer-to-Peer environments characterized by dynamic participation. In this paper, we develop a novel dissemination method, which makesuse of authorization policy and secret sharing scheme. It provides more secure, scalable means for XML dissemination on Peer-to-Peer networks.

The Design of Automated System for Ubiquitous Healthcare Examination

The Undeniable Digital Multi-Signature Scheme based on Biometric Information

A digital signature scheme provides integrity of the document, authentication and non-repudiation of a signer. Usually the key for digital signature is stored in hard disk or removal disk storage. The drawback of this approach is that the signer can let the agent to sign instead of the signer by providing the key information. It can be abused in applications such as electronic election. In this paper, we propose the undeniable biometric digital multi-signature scheme suitable for applications where the signer should not make an agent sign instead of himself/herself. The undeniable multi-signature scheme requires many signers and only the designated user can confirm the authenticity of multi-signature. The proposed scheme satisfies undeniable property and it is secure against active attacks such as modification and denial of the multi-signature by signers. As the key is generated through the signer's fingerprint image, it's also secure against signing by an agent.
IEEE 802.11 Performance Improvement by Selecting Optimal Backoff Stage

In this paper we propose a new method which adjusts the collision resolution depending on busy status of the channel to improve performance of IEEE 802.11 DCF. This scheme reduces the number of collisions in wireless channel by decreasing the amount of movements of each station's backoff stage based on busy event count and the one stage backoff model. Through simulation, we compared the performance of our scheme with that of DCF, ADCF and SD.
A Study on the Reduction of LSP(Line Spectrum Pair) Transformation Time in Speech Coder for CDMA Digital Cellular System

We propose the computation reduction method of real root method that is used in the EVRC(Enhanced Variable Rate Codec) system. The real root method is that if polynomial equations have the real roots, we are able to find those and transform them into LSP. However, this method takes much time to compute, because the root searching is processed sequentially in frequency region. But, the important characteristic of LSP is that most of coefficients are occurred in specific frequency region. So, to reduce the computation time of real root, we used the met scale that is linear below 1kHz and logarithmic above. In order to compare real root method with proposed method, we measured the following two. First, we compared the position of transformed LSP(Line Spectrum Pairs) parameters in the proposed method with these of real root method. Second, we measured how long computation time is reduced. The experimental result is that the searching time was reduced by about 48% in average without the change of LSP parameters.
An Energy Saying Method using Cluster Cohesion in Sensor Networks

The main issue of this study is to find ways to lengthen the lifetime of network mainly by reducing energy consumption. This paper proposes how to reduce the amount of data transmitted in each sensor and cluster head in order to lengthen the lifetime of sensor network. The most important factor of reducing the sensor's energy dissipation is to reduce the amount of messages transmitted. This study proposes cluster cohesion for the purposes. The method is to use the cluster cohesion and manage the number of clusters adaptively and reduce the amount of message transmitted in network topology. This method should be much more efficient and effective as it reduces the network traffic significantly and increases the network's lifetime.
A Study on the Influence of Business performance on the Adoption Factors of Information Systems in Information and Communications Industries

We, in this study, tried to examine the influence of business environment, organization structure and information technology characteristics used on the performance of the information systems in Information and Communications Industries. The result shows that frequency of system usage and users' satisfaction are positively affected by the factors of business environment, organizational structure and information-technology. The user satisfaction of the system is affected by the frequency of system usage. Both financial performance and non-financial performance are affected by the frequency of the systems usage and user satisfaction of the system. With path analysis, we verified the overall model goodness-of-fit verified for the research model. The result shows that organization structureand technological factors are positively related to the frequency of usage and user satisfaction of the system, while the environmental factors are not. The frequency of system usage is not linked to both financial and non-financial performance. The user satisfaction of the system does not affected to the financial performance. In conclusion, the usage frequency and user satisfaction of the system are the moderating variables affecting business performances. These two variables are affected by the environment, organization structure and information technology. The Path analysis also supports the relationships among these variables.
A Study on Performance Evaluation of Efficient Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network in Road Traffic

In this paper, we composed several road network and evaluated the network for the performance of the network with protocols. The protocols we applied were the MANET routing protocols such as AODV(Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) and DSR(Dynamic Source Routing) protocols. Generally, the AODV performs better than the DSR. However, in my ad-hoc vehicular network, the performance of the DSR is the better than the AODV when there are more vehicles in the road environment than there are the less vehicles. For the simulation, we composed 4-lane road with vehicles and simulated in the OPNET.
Study on Quality Evaluation Model of Bio Information Processing Software

Lately, as importance of biometric is recognized, domestic and foreign biometric software market is soaring and the requests of high reliability and quality of biometric software are inclosed. Evaluation items and criteria must be established for the biometric software quality certification. In this paper, we development the evaluation module for biometric software test based on ISO/IEC 12119 that is the standard about package software quality requirement and test, and ISO/IEC 9126 that is the standard about evaluation of software product, and ISO/IEC 14598-6 that is the standard for construction of the evaluation module. We think that this study can be used in establishing the software quality evaluation method of bio information processing software and constructing the basis for quality improvement.
Study on MCC and Hvorslev-MCC Models

In this study, the MCC(modified Cam-Clay) model and the Hvorslev-MCC model, recently developed based on the critical state theory and with relatively few model parameters, were investigated by comparing the model predictions with the result of the conventional triaxial compression test strictly performed in laboratory. The discrepancy of the prediction capacities of the models exists on the heavily over-consolidated specimen. The Hvorslev-MCC model accurately predicts the peak strength envelope for heavily over-consolidated clayey specimens on the dry side of the critical state since it adopts the Hvorslev surface in the supercritical region other than the ellipse of the MCC model.
Analysis of the Setback Patterns in Super-highrise Residential Buildings in Seoul

The main objective of this study is to analyze setback patterns of the super-highrise residential buildings in respect to the formal variations of the floor plans. Along with the illumination of the definition of setback, the early part of the paper attempts to establish criteria for the analysis of the setback cases. The research of 38 setback floor plans as well as the typical floor plans of 17 super-highrise buildings carried out through analysis criterions under three categories; physical features, primary causes, and formal types of setback. The result shows a method of evaluating setbacks and setback's potentials in designing the super-highrise buildings for the variation of building form, size, and type.
Sedimentation and EPS Production by the Change of Dissolved Oxygen Concentration for the Aeration Tank to treat Wastewater with Bacillus sp.

The factors affecting on sludge sedimentation are reported as F/M ratio, ingredient, composition of influent substrate, dissolved oxygen concentration, temperature, pH, filamentous bacteria and SRT. Aeration tank applying Bacillus sp. has an important role for maintaining the dominant microorganism species to make steady progress for spore growth affecting sedimentation. This research aims to investigate the affecting factor for the sedimentation in B3 system and RABC system with aeration tank applying tapered aeration. Extracellular polymeric substances(EPS), protein and carbohydrate can be produced for the extreme condition, that is down to 0.2 mg/L of dissolved oxygen in the aeration tank. This research found out the relation between the sedimentation and the EPS production, especially the ratio of protein/carbohydrate. The spore of Bacillus sp. was formed at the low DO then microorganisms produced EPS. The results showed that the production of EPS was 109.95 mgEPS/gSS at 1.6 mg/L of DO, however it was 131.77 mgEPS/gSS at 0.5 mg/L of DO. The sedimentation was affected by protein content in EPS and the ratio of protein and carbohydrate. The settleability of sludge was not affected by the ratio of protein/carbohydrate in B3 process, meanwhile settleability was affected by the ratio of it in RABC process, respectively.

Pyrolysis experiments of HDPE and LDPE were carried out in the stainless steel reactor of internal volume of 40
. Pyrolysis reactions were performed at temperature
and the pyrolysis products were collected separately as liquid and gas products. The molecular weight distributions(MWDs) and composition of each product were determined by HPLC-GPC and GC analysis. It was represented that the yield and the molecular weight of liquid product were decreased with the increase of reaction temperature and time. The chain-end scission rate parameters, respectively, were determined to be 63.0kcal/mole of HDPE, 45.7kcal/mole of LDPE by the Arrhenius plot.
An Estimation of Call Demand for the Internet Telephony

In this study, an estimation of call demand for the internet telephony was carried out using the monthly time-series data from June 2001 to December 2004. In the estimation, the call traffic was assumed to be explained by tariff of the internet telephony service, tariff of fixed and wireless services, income, quality of service, and lagged traffic variable. The traffic is assumed to follow the partial adjustment mechanism. The estimation result shows that the call traffic demand is elastic to the tariff of the service while it is inelastic to the change of income. The qualisty of service is regarded as an important factor of demand. Also there appeared the call demand is adjusting to the change of explanatory variables with some lags.
The Determinants of Households' DTV Purchase Probability and Time

This paper tries to find out how a household's purchase probability and purchase time changes as time passes. Previous studies show that a highly educated family with high income, which is usually an early adopter in a new product adoption, tends to be an early adopter of DTV. On the contrary, in the dynamic sense of diffusion, this study shows that an average household's purchase probability would become higher and its purchase time would come sooner than later, as price falls sharply. As time passes, it turns out that DTV is becoming a necessary good rather than a luxury good. Thus, in the future, either a household's popuation characteristics or information on new product are not expected to affect the probability of a household's purchasing DTV.
An Analytic Method for CRM Performance's Measurement Factors of Hotel Management

This study suggests a measure method for measuring variables that are used for hotel corporations' CRM performance. For this purpose, I present a combined method between factor analysis and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis. Factor analysis gives us a result that shows a group of highly correlated variables and another group of less correlated variables. Thus, factor analysis can only give information of factor categorization. Although researchers add ANOVA analysis or regression analysis, these efforts can not connect its results with factor analysis. Therefore, In hotel CRM performance analysis, calculation of each factor's importance is strongly required. For that reason, I suggest a method that combines AHP analysis with factor analysis for Hotel CRM performance measurement.

Today venture holds highly skilled technical manpower and high-tech products. To maintain the superiority in competition in the market, it is necessary to complete preparations, first of all, the effectual global marketing strategy should take precedence over the others. Therefore, this research is based on the research report of the special feature, the state of affairs and marketing strategy of venture business and is made up the questionnaire to interview total 200 companies of venture that was registered in Dec. 2006 and then is made the analysis of relevance of the statistical data of 154 companies of them and set up a hypothesis. As the result of it, it is set up two hypotheses. One of them is the difference of products, price, distribution and promotion according to the growth period. And the other is the difference of distribution and promotion according to the turnover. The venture places the great deal of weight on the discriminatory products concerned technical development and marketing activity. It is pointed out that it is to be passive to seek a new market promote the products, because of limitations of manpower, funds, technology and information in the beginning with smalt turnover.
A Study on Process Improvement by Incorporating the Concept of Six-Sigma into Quality Circle Activity

The integration of Quality Circles and Six-Sigma has gained attentions for the attainment of enhanced customer satisfaction, costs reduction, and improved business performance. The purpose of this paper is to verify the benefit from the integration of Quality Circles and Six-Sigma by applying the integrated process for an alcohol manufacturing line. In the integrated process, we used the first three steps of Six-Sigma of Define, Measure, and Analyze(D-M-A) and then applied the concept of Quality Circle, which has good performance in the Improvement and Control(I-C) process. For the selection of the theme of quality circles, Analytic Hierarch Process(AHP) is used, and we also employed the experimental design, which is designed to find an optimal operating condition. Furthermore, the results of the economic analysis confirm that the integration process would be successful in reducing the incidence of defects and the quality cost.

Recently the convergence of Bio technology(BT) and Information technology(IT) based on Nano technology has just emerged into several types of convergence technologies, therefore, this research paper examined and suggested the needs of why BT, IT and NT should be converged into new types technologies through analyzing the existing papers and documents.
