A Study of Adolescent′s School Adjustment in Poor Families - With the mediating role of maternal involvement

The purposes of this study are to explore mother's involvement in children's education and to examine its impacts on the school adjustment of poor family children. A total of 171 low-income mothers and their children attending middle school completed a structured questionnaire. Overall, the results show that the mothers tend to involve in their children's education to some degree. But the extent of maternal involvement is not uniform across the types of involvement. In order to analyze factors that affect the school adjustment which is measured as grades and attitudes toward school life, path analysis is perfomed. The affective parenting is found to have indirect effects on school adjustment of middle school students through maternal involvement in their children's education.
Alternatives to Saeng-hwal-gwa-hak Applications to the Community Welfare and Family Life

There are a few alternatives to support the ‘Saeng-hwal-ji-do-sa’(Home Improvement Extention Specialist:community welfare specialist) ‘Family Welfare Specialist’(Ga-jeong-bok-ji-sa) are recommended to inhance the family life. Saeng-hwal-gwa-hak(human ecology) which is anticipated to lead the social empowerment and social movement applies to the community welfare. 1. Education program and data of Saeng-hwal-gwa-hak are to be based to community information welfare. 2. Community level workshop is to be practiced. 3. Education program and counseling are to be served in advance and the cure level. So research must be followed as community level and the result of it ought to be flown community welfare policy and administration.
A review of economic valuation methods for rural women′s labor

Recently the rural women's role has been changed from assisting men to leading major farm work. However, contribution of women in the rural area has not beers fairly evaluated. Hence, it has been difficult for the rural women to receive the reasonable compensation if they injured, had some disasters or were divorced. Therefore this study tried to suggest economic methods such as market cost approach, opportunity cost method and shadow wage method for evaluating rural women's labor. It might provide some information for helping to establish the status of rural women as a income earner through estimating money value of labor contributed by rural women and furthermore, be useful information to improve the efficiency of farm labor by exploring the relationship between value of labor and actual income. Hence, it might help improve the economic situation and life at home of rural women, solve difficulties in the real life and reduce disparity of economic distribution between urban and rural area.
The Taste Components Composition in Various Mushrooms-Added Korean Soybean Paste (Doenjang)

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the sensory characteristics and the taste components of Korean soybean paste (doenjang) with mushrooms such as Lentinus edodes, Ganoderma lucidum and Phellinus Lentinus. edodes doenjang turned out to have a good taste, odor and color, but Ganoderma lucidum and Phellinus liteus doenjang were worse than control doenjang in the taste, odor and color as well as in sensory evaluation. The contents of amino type nitrogen were higher in Lentinus edodes and Phellinus liteus doenjang than in control doenjang. Of organic acids, succinic acid was the most abundant and Ganoderma lucidum doenjang had a little higher acetic, butyric and propionic acid. Fructose and glucose were detected as free sugar of mushroom doenjang, of which glucose was considerably contained in Ganoderma lucidum doenjang, Total contents of free amino acid were 2.247 ∼ 2.833mg/100g in doenjangs added mushrooms. Glutamic acid and alanine were dominant in mushroom doenjangs.
A Study on Management of Division of Household Work and Psychological Well-Being of Married and Employed Urbanite

The purpose of this study were to empirically verify the influence of varables on psychological well-being of married and employed urbanite and to provide a basis for promoting the quality of life. The subject of this study were 270 married and employed urbanite and interviewed with a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSS/PC+ program for the frequency, mean, standard deviation, and regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: 1) The score of management of division of household work was a medium-level. The score of psychological well-being of married and employed urbanite was relatively high. 2) Variables that affect management of division of household work were sex, income, degree of using information, and degree of stress recognition. 3) Variables that affect psychological well-being were degree of work satisfaction, degree of income propriety, degree of stress recognition, fate control orientation and material orientation. 4) The influenced level of degree of work satisfaction on psychological well-being of married and employed urbanite was highest among the other variables.
