A Simulation of Forcing Function for the Piping Vibration in Petrochemical Plants

For the simulation of piping vibrations in petrochemical plants, forcing functions mainly depend upon the equipment working mechanism and vibration resources in the piping systems. In general, harmonic function is used to simulate rotary equipment. Mechanical driving frequencies, wave functions, and response spectrum are used to simulate reciprocating compressors, surge vibration of long transfer piping, and seismic/wind vibration, respectively. In this study, the general suggestions for forcing functions were reviewed and proposed the forcing function to simulate the spray injection system inside the pipe in which two different fluids are distributed uniformly. To confirm the results, the scheme was applied for a real piping system. The vibration mode of the real system was consistent with the 4th mode (26.725 Hz) obtained by simulation using the forcing function presented in this study.
Fault Tolerant Channel Allocation Scheme considering Multimedia Service in IMT-2000

In the IMT-2000 networks, the model of micro/pico cell is suggested for transmission of multimedia service. Hence, the efficient method is required for processing of mobile calls in micro/pico cell. In the central urban area, mobile calls may be dynamically increased because of many mobile users. And microcel]/picocell size has small size, handover calls will be more increased. Therefore, many of mobile calls is occurred at a cell in the central urban area, so channel requests for these calls will be increased in the call. In this paper, we propose a scheme, FTC(Fault Tolerant Channel allocation) which is the channel management method for hard handover and new call in a mobile cell of central urban area. When available channels in the cell are consumed, the FTC investigates channel states of neighbor cells in the RNC(Radio Network Controller) or BSC (Base Station Center), and provide available channel for mobile call. The ]no scheme is analyzed and compared with existing channel management method by simulation.
Design of Low Pass Filter to reduce EMI from 2.SG SDH system

In this paper, EMI measurement, the STGU simulation being conducted, filter design, its characteristics, and its implementation to the PCB, and finally test results are discussed. When the low pass filter was implemented within the STGU, the power of EMI decreased more than 20dBm. Finally, when TE and MTIE, two important quality measure in synchronous reference clock, was assessed, ITU-T G813 requirement was satisfied. EMI(Electromagnetic Interface) is a measure of electomagnetic radiation from equipment in the range of 10KHz to 3GHz, and can cause unexpected reactions of electronics/electrical equipment. In this study, for safe and stable communication operation, a STGU (System Timing Generation Unit), which is a 2.5G SDH System and a major EMI source, was employed to simulate electromagnetic interface. Using Open-Site test, the power of fundamental frequency of EMI of interest and its harmonics were measured. Also, a low pass filter at cut-off frequency of 2GHz was specifically designed for this study to minimize the effect of EMI between electronic components.

The flight simulator should be made like a actual flight. For the scene of sight, instrument should show the condition of flight and the pilot should catch the altitude, speed, pose and rate of lift of the airplane. This paper describes visual training program of driving airplane in practice. It is for beginners using joystick in PC, implements airplane physical equations. Flight simulator in it implements airplane panel parts in order to make simple modeling, And it uses rendering technology to implement vision parts of panel. It uses double buffering In make it faster and more efficient..
Analysis of Variance for Using Common Random Numbers When Optimizing a System by Simulation and RSM

When optimizing a complex system by determining the optimum condition of the system parameters of interest, we often employ the process of estimating the unknown objective function, which is assumed to be a second order spline function. In doing so, we normally use common random numbers for different set of the controllable factors resulting in more accurate parameter estimation for the objective function. In this paper, we will show some mathematical result for the analysis of variance when using common random numbers in terms of the regression error, the residual error and the pure error terms. In fact, if we can realize the special structure of the covariance matrix of the error terms, we can use the result of analysis of variance for the uncorrelated experiments only by applying minor changes.
Knowledge-based modeling and simulation of access control system representing security policies

It is quite necessary that an organization's information network should be equipped with a proper security system based on its scale and importance. One of the effective methods is to use the simulation model for deciding which security policy and mechanism is appropriate for the complex network. Our goal is to build a foundation of knowledge-based modeling and simulation environment for the network security. With this environment, users can construct the abstracted model of security mechanisms, apply various security policies, and quantitatively analyze their security performance against possible attacks. In this study, we considered security domain from several points of view and implemented the models based on a systematic modeling approach. We enabled the model to include knowledge in modular fashion and provided well-defined guidelines for transforming security policy to concrete rule set.
The Study for Optimal Boner Allocation in FMS Using Genetic Algorithm and Simulation

This study presents a heuristic algorithm for buffer allocation in FMS(Flexible Manufacturing System). The buffers, which are finite resources in FMS, are responsible for improvement of an overall system utilization. But, until now, the study for buffer allocation in FMS are rarely conducted because of the complexity in FMS. Most studies for buffer allocation had been addressed to the simple production line system. The presented algorithm uses a simulation for the description of system complexity and uses a genetic algorithm for finding better buffer allocation. Lastly, we compare performance of the presented algorithm with that of a simple heuristic, and analyze the experiment results.
