Application of A* Algorithm to solve a Cutting Problem in Metal Manufacturing Process

In a metal grating manufacturing process, the cutting operation allocates the gratings and cut them out from given panels or a plate sheets. Before the cutting operation an operator generates a cutting plan. The cutting plan should decide how pieces of metal rectangles i.e., gratings, are allocated and cut from the panel. This plan generation is a deal of weight on the production cost. the generation of cutting plan is similar to the general two-dimensional cutting problem. In this paper, we first define cutting problem and Af algorithm of Artificial Intelligence to solve the problem. Also, through a simulation, we compare the proposed cutting algorithm to an existing method in terms of material loss

In this paper, the system is implemented in four ways , For those who want to learn Chinese characters using the internet, and To make the learning more interesting and entertaining. Four different learning methods have been provided , using the transition process of Chinese characters, games, animations, and an illustration of the relationships between Chinese Characters and korean letters. The subjects of the evaluation were freshmen polled about the Chinese character learning system. The evaluation methods are : the validity of the research content is evaluated using the Cronbach's coefficient alpha and the performance of the system is evaluated by F-type of Analysis of variance.
The Information value-based document management technique using the Information Lifecycle Management Theory

Due to explosive expansion in R & D efforts for advancement of technological predominance by Enterprises, the volume of technical information rapidly increases and emphasize on the valuation of this information has grown ever increasingly important. Therefore the requirement for systematic management and safeguard and accumulation of these intellectual properties of the Enterprise is in very high demand. A lot of effort and research has been carried out and many on going studies in progress to try to derive the optimum solution on how to manage information retention policy, processes, execution method, and hardware to execute the information with and etc. The intent of this thesis is to recommend a way for the Enterprise on how to evaluate the valuation of the data and to suggest the method on how to manage these intellectual properties by way of using Information Lifecycle Management theory which manages data according to the business valuation of the data. The decision on valuation of data and retention cycle is based on analytic method of a nonparametric regression, experimentation was carried out by applying to Enterprise Document Management System to present the suitable retention cycle according to the valuation and variety of attribute of data.
An Efficient Scheme for Web Services Performance Improvement

This paper proposes a novel Web Services enhancement method, which enhances XML based e-commerce and Web Services securely and efficiently. Recently, the ratio of XML Denial of Services (XDOS) is increased significantly However, XML data is visible only at the target application site or the application layer. Thus, an efficient and secure mechanism handling XML data on the network layer to provide fast performance on the server and protect XDOS at network level is strongly required basic component. This paper presents many issues and gives useful results from the various experiments to support an implemented XAN platform.

Neural network simulator for semiconductor manufacturing : Case study - photolithography process overlay parameters

The advancement in semiconductor technology is leading toward smaller critical dimension designs and larger wafer manufactures. Due to such phenomena, semiconductor industry is in need of an accurate control of the process. Photolithography is one of the key processes where the pattern of each layer is formed. In this process, precise superposition of the current layer to the previous layer is critical. Therefore overlay parameters of the semiconductor photolithography process is targeted for this research. The complex relationship among the input parameters and the output metrologies is difficult to understand and harder yet to model. Because of the superiority in modeling multi-nonlinear relationships, neural networks is used for the simulator modeling. For training the neural networks, conjugate gradient method is employed. An experiment is performed to evaluate the performance among the proposed neural network simulator, stepwise regression model, and the currently practiced prediction model from the test site.
A Simulation for the Characteristics of the Sound-Pipe of King Song-Dok Bell

To investigate the characteristics of the sound-pipe on the top of King Song-Dok bell, using computer simulation, the throat impedance was evaluated for the straight pipe and conical pipes with varying taper angles. When sound propagates in a rigid walled, unflanged circular pipe with wavelength larger than radius, the acoustic motion is planar, much as in a bar. The incident sound waves are reflected at the end of pipe and some of them are transmitted. The reflection coefficient and radiation impedance of the sound-pipe of King Song-Dok bell were calculated, and the results demonstrated that the high frequency sound is radiated through the sound-pipe. It behaves like a frequency filter.
Enhanced Paging Mechanism in IP-based IMT Network Platform(

] (IP-based IMT Network Platform) is a ubiquitous platform supporting mobility using two step If address IPha (IP host address) and IPra (IP routing address) - in a backbone network. MN (Mobile Node) in
maintains either Active or Dormant state, which is transferred to Active state through Paging process when communication is required. In this paper, we proposed a Paging method using proxy to resolve the problem of the conventional Paging method which transmits the Paging messages to all cells in LA (Location Area) resulting in the excessive use of network resources. Performanceevaluation of the proposed method using NS-2 showed that the usage of network resources becomes more efficient by reducing paging loads, especially under the condition of increased nodes.
A New Decoding Method of Turbo Code

In this paper we propose a new iterative decoding method of turbo code which computes the log-likelihood ratios at each MAP (maximum a posteriori) decoder in parallel in each iteration step and combines them with proper weights to produce better decisions. Our results indicate that the proposed decoding method is particularly useful for systems with limited number of iterations and low code rates.
Fuzzy based Energy-Efficient Adaptive Routing Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

Recent advances in wireless sensor networks have led to many routing protocols designed for energy-efficiency in wireless sensor networks. Despite that many routing protocols have been proposed in wireless sensor networks, a single routing protocol cannot be energy-efficient if the environment of the sensor network varies. This paper presents a fuzzy logic based Adaptive Routing (FAR) algorithm that provides energy-efficiency by dynamically changing protocols installed at the sensor nodes. The algorithm changes protocols based on the output of the fuzzy logic which is the fitness level of the protocols for the environment. A simulation is performed to show the usefulness of the proposed algorithm.
A Multicast Scheme considering the Terminal Mobility in HMIPv6 Networks

The multi user communications that is called as the multicast service should be applied into the evolving mobile networks. In this paper, we propose a fast multicast management scheme for mobile terminals in HMIPv6 (Hierarchical Mobile IPv6) based mobile networks. In HMIPv6 based mobile networks, we consider the mobile terminal mobility that the multicast management scheme during mobile handover is used for the multicast routing changing. The changing impact to the multicast routing Is determined from handovers in intra AR, and in inter AR or MAP. In this paper, we propose multicast supporting schemes that the tunneling scheme is used in intra AR handover, and the previous subscription scheme is used in inter AR handover for considering the changing impact of the multicast routing.
The Effect of Sales Permission of Diesel Passenger Cars as a Countermeasure against the Climatic Change Convention

The climatic change convention is a matter of grave concern to the whole world. As a countermeasure against the climatic change convention, the Korean Government permits the sale of diesel passenger cars since 2005. In this paper, we analyse the effect of the sales permission of diesel passenger car as the countermeasure. The share, carbon emission, and pollutants emission of each type of passenger cars are analysed using system dynamics. The result is that the carbon emission is decreased by
