Development of an Efficient Vehicle Routing Heuristic using Closely Located Delivery Points and Penalties

Travel time between two points depends upon whether it is a rush hour or not in metropolitan area. It is true that there is big differences on the time required to get through the area whether going in busy morning or near noon. Another issue is that there exist many delivery points which closely located each other; so no need to consider traveling hours among these points. We designed an efficient procedure to reduce the complexity by considering closely located delivery points as one big delivery point. A computer simulation model is constructed for comparison purposes of the developed heuristic with the optimum solution.
The Federation Development for Underwater Warfare Simulation

Recently, as weapon systems have been more diverse and complicated, the factors of risk increase in development. Consequently, demanding reduction of acquired costs and period increase. Under the acquisition environment, more efficiently to develop weapon system, the necessity of application of defense M&S from requirement phase is on the rise. As the importance of M&S is stressed under distributed environment, so the standard of M&S(HLA, SEDRIS, etc.) and the system engineering process, namely FEDEP(Federation Development & Execution Process) have been developed. In this paper using the 5 phase expression, we constructed underwater engagement simulation(UNES) that prototype to develop naval weapon system test bed which take up integrated architecture in HLA. we developed simulators according to FEDEP for expandability and described process applying FEDEP fur UNES development.
On the Development of Authoritative Representations of Torpedo Systems for Engagement Level Simulation

We considered the authoritative representations of torpedo systems that was the engagement level model to develop system specifications and to analyze operational requirements on concept design phase. The Work Breakdown Structure(WBS) of models was defined about authoritative representations of the torpedo systems. The communication of information among each subsystems and input/output parameters were defined. In the heavy weight and light weight torpedo model, presetter, underwater maneuver, war head, sonar, guidance and control, propulsion subsystem modeling were developed for heavy-weight and the light-weight torpedo systems. The authoritative representations of torpedo systems have similar structures with those of the engineering level models and could be verified via engagement level simulations according to the V&V process in the future.
A Study on the Valuation of a Supply Chain Considering Management Efficiency and Environmental Effect

Recently, the deepening of the environment and accompanying concerns produce various environmental regulations. For example, EPR(Extended Producer Responsibility) is emphasized in many countries such as USA and Europe. According to this, the construction of a reverse supply chain is under compulsion. A diversity of parts can be controlled by a government or enterprises in the construction and management of a reverse supply chain and the effect to the environment is changed according to the policy. Therefore, it is essential to understand the effects of regulations or policies of a government and enterprises on a supply chain. The object of this research is to develop a means to assess the management efficiency and the environmental effect over a whole supply chain and show the effects of various reverse supply chain construction policies on a supply chain. This model can be utilized to establish appropriate policies by understanding the change in the management efficiency and the environmental effect according to the reverse supply chain construction and management method.
Agent Based Modeling & Simulation for Command and Control

This study suggests a method of command and control in modeling a combat situation. In particular, it presents the structure of an intelligent agent that may substitute for the current system of decision making in the military operation to lead a troop. Today the Korean military war game simulations emphasize on engagements, instead of command and control. This suggested principle will be a good foundation for the today and the future Korean warfare.
Genetic Algorithm Based Routing Method for Efficient Data Transmission for Reliable Data Transmission in Sensor Networks

There are many application areas of wireless sensor networks, such as combat field surveillance, terrorist tracking and highway traffic monitoring. These applications collect sensed data from sensor nodes to monitor events in the territory of interest. One of the important issues in these applications is the existence of the radio-jamming zone between source nodes and the base station. Depending on the routing protocol the transmission of the sensed data may not be delivered to the base station. To solve this problem we propose a genetic algorithm based routing method for reliable transmission while considering the balanced energy depletion of the sensor nodes. The genetic algorithm finds an efficient routing path by considering the radio-jamming zone, energy consumption needed fur data transmission and average remaining energy level. The fitness function employed in genetic algorithm is implemented by applying the fuzzy logic. In simulation, our proposed method is compared with LEACH and Hierarchical PEGASIS. The simulation results show that the proposed method is efficient in both the energy consumption and success ratio of delivery.
Comparison of Distance Transforms in Space-leaping for High Speed Fetal Ultrasound Volume Visualization

In real time rendering of fetus the empty space leaping while traversing a ray is most frequently used accelerating technique. The main idea is to skip empty voxel samples which do not contribute the result image and it speeds up the rendering time by avoiding sampling data while traversing a ray in the empty region, saving a substantial number of interpolations. Calculating the distance from the nearest object boundary for every yokel can reduce the sampling operation. Among widely-well-known distance maps, those estimates the true distance, such as euclidean distance, takes a long time to compute because of the complicated floating-point operations, and others which uses approximated distance functions, such as city-block and chessboard, provides faster computation time but sampling error may can occur. In this paper, therefore, we analyze the characteristics of several distance maps and compare the number of samples and rendering time. And we aim to suggest the most appropriate distance map for rendering of fetus in ultrasound image.
Implementation of a tactic manager for the target motion analysis simulation of a submarine

A tactic manager which can change the behavior of a simulation model according to the tactic definition file has been studied and implemented. Based on the DEVS(discrete event system specification) formalism, we generated a simulation model which is equipped with the inter ace to the tactic manager. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the tactic manager, a target motion analysis simulation of the warfare between a submarine and a surface ship is simulated.
DEVS Simulation of Spam Voice Signal Detection in VoIP Service

As the VoIP service quality is getting better and many shortcomings are being overcome, users are getting interested in this service. Also, there are several additional features that provide a convenience to users such as presence service, instant messaging service and so on. But, as there are always two sides of rein, some security issues have users hesitate to make use of it. This paper deals with one of the issues, the VoIP spam problem. We took into account the signal pattern of voice message in spam call and we have constructed voice signal models of normal call, normal call with noise and spam call. Each voice signal case is inserted into our spam decision algorithm which detects the spam calls based on the amount of information in the call signal. We made use of the DEVS-
for our modeling and simulation. The contribution of this work is in suggestion of a way to detect voice spam call signal and testing of the method using modeling and simulation methodology.
