A Study on the Air to Air Missile Control Fin Optimization Using the Mathematical Modeling Based on the Fluid-Structure Interaction Simulation

This study focuses on the air to air missile control fin planform optimization for the minimizing hinge moment with the considering phenomena of fluid and structure simultaneously. The fluid-structure interaction method is applied for the fluid and structure phenomena simulation of the control fins. A transient-loosely coupled method is used for the fluid-structure interaction simulation because it is suited for using each fluid and structure dedicated simulation software. Searching global optimization point is required many re-calculation therefore in this study, a mathematical model is applied for rapidly calculation. The face centered central composite method is used for generating design points and the 2nd polynomial response surface is sued for generating mathematical model. Global optimization is performed by using the generic algorithm. An objective function is the minimizing travel distance of the center of pressure between Mach 0.7 and 2.0 condition. Finally, the objective function of optimized planform is reduced 7.5% than the baseline planform with satisfying constrained conditions.
A Method for build an Ontology-based Component Semantic Search System for Reconfiguration of Weapon System

Recently in the field of defense Modeling and Simulation (M&S), Component-Based Development technology is widely applying to save the cost and increase the reusability of weapon system development. Related with this, researches for rapid reconfiguration and simulation of the component-standardized weapon system is actively carrying out. To rapidly reconfigure the new weapon system, complex and various functions of component information has to be effectively searched. So, it requires differentiated search technique unlike existing Keyword-based Search method. Semantic Search System provides semantically related information among the extensive information. In this research, metadata of weapon system components and their representative functional words are built as an ontology. And it provides an ontology-based semantic search system.
A Study of Simulation Method for Administrative Functionality on Civil-Military Operations

ROK armed forces conducted exercise for something limited "Civil Factor" of Civil-Military Operations at the Liberalized Area in North Korea by using ROK battle simulation model and a linked US simulation model such as JNEM during ROK-US combined exercise period. However, they conducted exercise by exchanging with messages only during each exercise, because of hard coding for "Civil-Factor" and various situations applied onto battle simulation model and JNEM. Fortunately, ROK armed forces arranged the 5 functionalities of Civil-Military Operations which is adopted with military situation in Korean Peninsular. Even more "Civil-Military Operations Simulation Model System" is developing since 2014 by ROK MND. Among the 5 functionalities of Civil-Military Operations, the administration is fundamental. Its detailed operational plan is hard to be quantitative subjects because it is too qualitative to be simulated. But we found a way to quantify, and described simulation flow charts for the 5 main subjects (including 13 tasks) of administration to verify relevance between its simulation results and other functionalities. So we suggested a simulation method which gets an objective suitability, also hope this will be helpful to the Civil-Military Operations exercise.
Ontology-based Cohort DB Search Simulation

Many researchers have used cohort DB (database) to predict the occurrence of disease or to keep track of disease spread. Cohort DB is Big Data which has simply stored disease and health information as separated DB table sets. To measure the relations between health information, It is necessary to reconstruct cohort DB which follows research purpose. In this paper, XML descriptor, editor has been used to construct ontology-based Big Data cohort DB. Also, we have developed ontology based cohort DB search system to check results of relations between health information. XML editor has used 7 layered Ontology development 101 and OWL API to change cohort DB into ontology-based. Ontology-based cohort DB system can measure the relation of disease and health information and can be used effectively when semantic relations are found. We have developed ontology-based cohort DB search system which can measure the relations between disease and health information. And it is very effective when searched results are semantic relations.
Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation of ECU using Reverse Engineering

Increasing the proportion of an embedded system in automotive industry, test methods for evaluation and fault detection of the embedded system have been researched. HILS is a test method that is used in the development and test of complex real-time embedded systems. In this study, we defined the HILS method of the ECU, one of the embedded systems used in automobiles. Our method is to create a test model that can provide a virtual vehicle environment to the ECU on the basis of the actual vehicle data. The test model has reference information that can transmit the sensor signal and CAN Message into the ECU from HILS tester. In this study, the HILS can detect faults of the target ECU.
A Simulation Study on Capacity Planning in Reentrant Hybrid Flowshops

In this study, we consider a capacity planning problem of reentrant hybrid flowshops. High-tech electronic products such as semiconductor or TFT-LCD, are produced from manufacturing systems which can be considered as reentrant hybrid flowshops. In the considered capacity planning problem, we determine the number of machines at each stage in the manufacturing system. We introduce criteria indicating which stage needs additional machines or which stage needs reduction of machines considering the characteristics of the product types and the manufacturing system. The objective function of the problem is maximizing throughput rate of the system, of which values are obtained from the simulation model depicting the hybrid flowshops. The performance of the proposed methods were evaluated through a series of computational experiments. The simulation model was also used for conducting the comparison experiments among the proposed method and benchmarks.
Microscopic Evacuation Simulation in Large-scale Buildings using EgresSIM

This paper introduces 'EgresSIM', which is microscopic evacuation simulation software. EgresSIM developed in this paper is a three-dimensional (3D) pedestrian evacuation simulator based on the improved model advanced from the floor field model(FFM), a microscopic pedestrian model. This software can simulate large size buildings that consist of a number of floors, stairs, rooms, and exit doors. Moreover, this software can arrange several hundreds or thousands of pedestrians in indoor space and check their movements through the 3D viewer in real time, as well as produce detailed results about evacuation situations such as which paths are employed by individual pedestrians, how long does it takes to evacuate, and how many evacuees are gathered at each of the exit doors. Building data needed in the simulation are constructed as XML files according to pre-defined indoor data models and information of simulation results is also created as XML log files. A moving pattern of pedestrians can be represented in many ways by adjusting the sensitivity parameters of two walk models supported by EgresSIM. Thus, evacuation simulation can be done based on many assumptions of situations such as movement to the nearest exit door or blackout after outage.
