An Analysis of Highlight Distribution Modeling for High Frequency CW Pulse Signal Reflection on Underwater Target

This paper proposes the practical echo-signal synthesis models - UTAHID (Underwater TArget by Highlight Distribution) & M-UTAHID(Modified UTAHID) - of underwater target for active sonar engineering At high frequencies all the echo components that are the specular reflected waves and various elastic scattering wave scan be regarded the summation of individual echo from some equivalent scattering centers, so the underwater target is characterized by highlights distributed in spatial target structure. Proposed models are compared with characteristics of random distributed model & equivalent interval highlight model, and analyzed target strength, echo-elongation effect, target time spread loss and so on. Thus these can be efficiently used in various real systems related to underwater target echo-signal synthesis on active sonar and acoustic countermeasure.
Performance Evaluation of Scheduling Rules Considering Order Change Using Simulation

The scheduling rule for the fabrication process of the semiconductor manufacturing is suggested and tested on the simulation system which was developed based on the model to represent the main characteristics of wafer flows. The proper scheduling policies are necessary to meet the order change in the supply chain management. It was shown that the suggested rules which consider the wafer balance and the due date of the order, give good performances for the cycle time reduction and the rate of meeting due date as well. Also they are robust in the sense that performances are stable regardless of the order change rate and the input policies.
Construction of Knowledge-based Simulation Environment Using Expert System and Database

As the application domains of rule-based systems become larger and more complicated, the integration of rule-based systems within the database systems has become the topic of many research works. This paper suggests a simulation modeling using expert system and database. The integration methods employed in this research are as follows. First, we defined new states and state transition functions to interrelate simulation model and expert system. Second, we designed and implemented FCL(Fact Class Library) as a interface of expert system and database. FCL has facilities of filtering data from database, and assigning a meaning to the filtered data. Also, FCL detects the violation of the integrity rules in database, as the result of inference is reflected. Some implementation problems are pointed out and the methods to solve these problems are discussed in this paper, We developed a simulation model of the grating production line and executed it to validate the functions of the proposed method.
The Comparison Analysis of an Estimators of Nonlinear Regression Model using Monte Carlo Simulation

In regression model, we estimate the unknown parameters by using various methods. There are the least squares method which is the most general, the least absolute deviation method, the regression quantile method and the asymmetric least squares method. In this paper, we will compare each others with two cases: firstly the theoretical comparison in the asymptotic sense and then the practical comparison using Monte Carlo simulation for a small sample size.
A Design and Implement of Image Processing Simulator for Extraction of Container License Number

With the recent outstanding advance in computer software and hardware, a number of researches to enhance the processing speed and the process accuracy has been undertaken in the field of container terminal industry,0 this paper, we propose a simulator for container image processing that can be used mainly for tile development of automatic container recognition system. The purpose of this study is to simulate many different algorithms and factors to extract information accurately on the captured container image.
A Design of Real-time VOD Server Simulator

In recent years, significant advances in computers and communication technologies have made multimedia services feasible. As a result, various queuing models and cost models on architecture and data placement for multimedia server have been proposed. However, these analytical techniques use only probabilistic models to represent the behavior of a system, and then they have several limitations like accuracy. Simulation is a viable alternative to analytical model. It avoids many of the limitations associated with analytical techniques, allowing for more precise representation of system attributes like workload in program code. In this paper, we propose a simulation test bed that can evaluate performance of real-time multimedia server by using simulation model.
A Multi-attribute Dispatching Rule Using A Neural Network for An Automated Guided Vehicle

This paper suggests a multi-attribute dispatching rule for an automated guided vehicle(AGV). The attributes to be considered are the number of queues in outgoing buffers of workstations, distance between an idle AGV and a workstation with a job waiting for the service of vehicle, and the number of queues in input buffers of the destination workstation of a job. The suggested rule is based on the simple additive weighting method using a normalized score for each attribute. A neural network approach is applied to obtain an appropriate weight vector of attributes based on the current status of the manufacturing system. Backpropagation algorithm is used to train the neural network model. The proposed dispatching rules and some single attribute rules are compared and analyzed by simulation technique. A number of simulation runs are executed under different experimental conditions to compare the several performance measures of the suggested rules and some existing single attribute dispatching rules each other.
Integrated Vehicle Routing Model for Multi-Supply Centers Based on Genetic Algorithm

The distribution routing problem is one of the important problems in distribution and supply center management. This research is concerned with an integrated distribution routing problem for multi-supply centers based on improved genetic algorithm and GUI-type programming. In this research, we used a three-step approach; in step 1 a sector clustering model is developed to transfer the multi-supply center problem to single supply center problems which are more easy to be solved, in step 2 we developed a vehicle routing model with time and vehicle capacity constraints and in step 3, we developed a GA-TSP model which can improve the vehicle routing schedules by simulation. For the computational purpose, we developed a GUI-type computer program according to the proposed methods and the sample outputs show that the proposed method is very effective on a set of standard test problems, and it could be potentially useful in solving the distribution routing problems in multi-supply center problem.
