A Study on Dual-rate MC-CDMA Systems

Multicarrier code division multiple access(MC-CDMA) Is a scheme that combines multicarrier modulation with CDMA. It offers robustness to frequency selective fading and can support higher rate data transmission with higher spectral efficiency. The objective of this article to proposed a new asynchronous ME-CDMA system to implement multiple data rate communications. It can be accomplished by changing the number of parallel branch(.p). For the analysis of average BER performance, numerical method and computer simulation were used. After MAI power of received signal calculated, the average BER can be acriuired using Gaussian approximation to MAI. We also compare the system performance with that of a single rate MC-CDMA system.

Analysis of Causal Relationship among TQM Implementation Factors, Managerial Goals of Production System and Organizational Performance, Using Path Analysis

This study tried to test hypotheses, using path analysis, whether the implementation factors of TQM have influences to organization performance through achieving the managerial goals of production, or not. This is an attempt to perform comprehensive analysis instead of using the simple correlation approach between the implementation factors and performances. In order to perform the empirical test, this study has surveyed 98 firms which acquired the ISO authentication and analyzed the data using the path analysis of AMOS. After testing the hypotheses of this study, the cause factor, i.e. TQM implementation factor, has effective influences to the goals of production system, and, also, the goals have a significant influence to managerial performance. Therefore, this study concludes that the implementation factors of TQM have significant effects on the managerial performance.
Performance Evaluation of the Extractiojn Method of Representative Keywords by Fuzzy Inference

In our previous works, we suggested a method that extracts representative keywords from a few positive documents and assigns weights to them. To show the usefulness of the method, in this paper, we evaluate the performance of a famous classification algorithm called GIS(Generalized Instance Set) when it is combined with our method. In GIS algorithm, generalized instances are built from learning documents by a generalization function and then the K-NN algorithm is applied to them. Here, our method is used as a generalization function. For comparative works, Rocchio and Widrow-Hoff algorithms are also used as a generalization function. Experimental results show that our method is better than the others for the case that only positive documents are considered, but not when negative documents are considered together.
Design & Implementation of an Item Ontology for maintaining the accuracy of data managed by ERP system

ERP system is a fundamental system that is commonly adopted by most companies that intend to take part in e-business. However, few companies are running ERP systems successfully because of inaccuracy in data managed by ERP system. In this paper, we propose a model and the building process of item ontology which organize concepts describing all items managed by enterprises. In addition, we design and implement a system to create and manage item ontologies. We interface our system with a commercial ERP system, then install and run these systems on a manufacturing company. Our item ontologies and management system might help enterprises when they try to take part in e-business.
Performance of GFR service for TCP traffic in ATM switches with FIFO shared buffer

ATM Form has defined the guaranteed frame rate (GFR) service to provide minimum cell rate (MCR) guarantees for TCP traffic in ATM networks and allow it to fairly share residual bandwidth. GFR switch implementation consists of the frame-based generic cell rate algorithm (F-GCRA) and a frame forwarding mechanism. The F-GCRA identifies frames that are eligible for an MCR guarantee. The frame forwarding mechanism buffers cells at a frame unit according to information provided by the F-GCRA and forwards the buffered cells to an output port according to its scheduling discipline. A simple GFR mechanism with shared buffer with a global threshold is a feasible implementation mechanism, but has been known that it is insufficient to guarantee the MCR. This paper has estimated performance of GFR service for TCP traffic over ATM switches with the simple FIFO-based mechanism
Negotiation Agent: An Overview

Intelligent agents help automate various tasks, including automated negotiations, on-line auction, and buying/selling products over the Internet. To date, most of the agents are developed only for experiments and some of them are implemented on the limited areas such as an auction. The main objective of this paper is to provide a brief overview of negotiation agents. In doing so, previous studies on negotiation agent systems are revisited and then applications in the real world are reviewed. The limitations on the current negotiation agents are defined and future research directions are suggested.
An Effect of Hotel Information System Quality on User' Satisfaction and Business Productivities

The purpose of this study is to find the empirical relationship among information system quality, users' satisfaction and business productivities in hotel industry. This study set out the research model of influencing factors and the performance of the hotel information system. The respondents included 140 volunteers who were worked at hotel in Busan. The result of empirical study revealed that the system quality is major determinant to influence on the users' satisfaction and business productivities of hotel information system.
An Empirical Study on the Use of POS System for Inventory Efficiency

The POS system has been developing into an co-operational information integration system, enlarging its range of application - from basic data collection to production information, inventory management and customer service. The POS system will increase operation efficiency. It is my suggestion that POS system should be adopted in domestic industries regardless of increasing adoption of the RFID. This paper was made studied of the POS system and the practical use of POS system in order to maximize the efficiency of inventory management for various companies.
