The Effect of Embossment Conditions of the Coining Process

This paper deals with manufacturing conditions to increase the working die's life span which are the key factor in the manufacturing process of the coins and medals. Using the boundary element method, the stress diagram for the coining die was obtained, which was used to find the life span of working die. To iud the working die's life span related to the diameter of collar and blank coin, eight different sizes were tested and the optimal condition was obtained. With the adjusted impressing force, the working die's life span was increased up to 60 percent.
A Strategy of Adjusted Internet Traffic Modeling using Heavy-Tailed Distributions

According to the recent growth of the internet commercialization and differentiated QoS(quality of service), statistical traffic modeling is necessary for forecasting and controlling future network capacity. This paper reviews tile essential components in web workloads. And I propose adjusted internet traffic modeling using heavy-tailed distributions and intervention techniques.
Low-complexity implementation of OFDMA timing delay detector with multiple receive antennas for broadband wireless access

In this paper, we propose low-complexity implementation of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) timing delay detector with multiple receive antennas for broadband wireless access (BWA). First, in order to reduce the computational complexity, the detection structure which rotates the phase of the received ranging symbols is introduced. Second, we propose the detection structure with the N-point/M-interval fast Fourier transform structure and a frequency-domain average-power estimator for complexity reduction without sacrificing the system performance. Finally, simulation results for the proposed structures and complexity comparison of the existing structure with the proposed detectors are presented.
The Effect of Characteristics and Service Quality of Internet Banking on Customer Satisfaction

For continuous growth and diffusion of internet banking, it is important to investigate the factors that affect customer satisfaction. This study empirically examined the structural relationships among characteristics of internet banking, service quality, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. Characteristics of internet banking include relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, and perceived risk which are user-dependent in nature. Service quality was classified as 5 dimensions of SERVQUAL. Using a sample of 162 internet banking users, we empirically examined the study model. The results of this study showed that characteristics of internet banking and service quality had a significant effect on customer satisfaction and satisfaction in turn, had a significant positive effect on customer loyalty. We also found that characteristics of internet banking and service quality had a significant effect on customer loyalty.
Design and Implementation of Packet Filtering Mechanism for Secure Teredo Service

IPv4 NAT, which often used in households or under SOHO environments, is one of the factors that delays IPv6 propagation. As IPv4 NAT does not operate properly under the transition mechanism like ISATAP or 6to4 that acts as IPv6-in-IPv4 tunneling type, Microsoft proposed Teredo in order to resolve this issue. However, tunneling transition mechanism like Teredo has a security problem. That is, being tunneled packets have dual IP headers; general firewall systems apply the filtering rules only to the outer header but not inner header when these packets pass the firewall. Furthermore, attacks using unregistered server and relay can take place in Teredo. To resolve these problems, we propose a new packet filtering mechanism exclusively for Teredo. The proposed packet filtering mechanism was designed and implemented by using Linux Netfilter and ip6tables. Through functional and experimental performance tests, this packet filtering system was found operating properly and solving the Teredo packet filtering problems without serious performance degradation.
Automatic Facial Expression Recognition using Tree Structures for Human Computer Interaction

In this paper, we propose an automatic facial expressions recognition system to analyze facial expressions (happiness, disgust, surprise and neutral) using tree structures based on heuristic rules. The facial region is first obtained using skin-color model and connected-component analysis (CCs). Thereafter the origins of user's eyes are localized using neural network (NN)-based texture classifier, then the facial features using some heuristics are localized. After detection of facial features, the facial expression recognition are performed using decision tree. To assess the validity of the proposed system, we tested the proposed system using 180 facial image in the MMI, JAFFE, VAK DB. The results show that our system have the accuracy of 93%.
A New Paradigm for Success Strategies of Industrial Clusters: Convergence of Traditional and Online Businesses

This research examines strategic preference of domestic and foreign brick-and-mortar companies in an industrial cluster in S. Korea. This paper also examines the relationships between the anticipated benefit factors of introducing online business activities by brick-and-mortar companies and their competitive strategies. Six major honest factors were derived including easiness of obtaining information, online intermediary, online distribution, online communication, sharing information and knowledge. Comparing domestic and foreign companies operating in S. Korea, the analyses show that the benefit factors influence on firms' choosing one or some combination of the competitive strategies. The result also shows that there was no big difference between domestic and foreign companies in terms of strategic preference and anticipated levels of benefit factors by introducing online business activities.

In this paper, the electric characteristics in multilayer organic light emitting, diodes(OLEDs) are observed using a numerical device modeling method. The methode is applied to a general device structure, ITO/CuPC/
/ Alq3/LiF/Al, that has received broad attention in previous literature. The fitted current-voltage characteristics are quite consistent with the results which was experimentally determined in reference papers. This research approached results in a detailed understanding of the operating machanism of a multilayer OLEDs and applied to a set of real devices.
Analysis of Power Consumption Patterns for Commercial Portable Multimedia Players

Portable multimedia Player (PMP) devices have been gaining in its popularity with the emerging digital convergence of data, video, audio, etc. Since the PMP devices are typically equipped with DSP, a bigger LCD screen, and a hard disk, efficient power management has become more crucial than the other portable devices. This paper builds up a hardware/software-based power measurement system based on data acquisition devices. Subsequently, it measures and analyzes the power consumed in commercial PMP devices under different types of events: the system boot & shutdown, video playback, and the use of different video-coding types. Finally, our analysis of the measured power consumption patterns reveals useful information for the design of low-power PMP devices.
A Study for Detection of the Kernel Backdoor Attack and Design of the restoration system

As soon as an intrusion is detected by kernel backdoor, the proposed method can be preserve secure and trustworthy evidence even in a damaged system. As an experimental tool, we implement a backup and analysis system, which can be response quickly, to minimize the damages. In this paper, we propose a method, which can restore the deleted log file and analyze the image of a hard disk, to be able to expose the location of a intruder.
A Study on the Development of Backlight Surface Defect Inspection System using Computer Vision

Despite the number of backlight manufacturer is increased as the market of flat panel display equipments and related development devices is enlarged, the inspection based on the human eye is still used in many backlight production lines. The defects such as particle, spot and scratch on the light emitting surface of the backlight prevent the LCD device from displaying the colors correctly. From that manual inspection it is difficult to maintain the quality of backlight consistently because the accuracy and the speed of the inspection may change with the physical condition of the operater. In this paper we studied on the development of automatic backlight surface defect inspection system. For this, we made up of the computer vision system and we developed the main program with various user interfaces to operate the inspection system effectively. And we developed the image processing module to extract the defect information. Furthermore, we presented the labeling process to reconstruct defect regions using the labeling table and the defect index. From the experimental results, we found that our system can detect all defect regions identified from human eye and it is sufficient to substitute for the conventional surface inspection.
Molding and Optical Evaluation of Aspheric Glass Lenses for Camera Phone Module

Adaptive Binarization for Camera-based Document Recognition

The quality of the camera image is worse than that of the scanner image because of lighting variation and inaccurate focus. This paper proposes a binarization method for camera-based document recognition, which is tolerant to low-quality camera images. Based on an existing method reported to be effective in previous evaluations, we enhanced the adaptability to the image with a low contrast due to low intensity and inaccurate focus. Furthermore, applying an additional small-size window in the binarization process, it is effective to extract the fine detail of character structure, which is often degraded by conventional methods. In experiments, we applied the proposed method as well as other methods to a document recognizer and compared the performance for many cm images. The result showed the proposed method is effective for recognition of document images captured by the camera.
