Implementation of A Monitoring System using Image Data and Environment Data
Cha, Kyung-Ae ; Kwon, Cha-Uk ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 14, issue 1, 2009, Pages 1~8
The objective of this study is to design a system that automatically monitors the state of interior spaces like offices where lots of people are coming and going through image data and environment data, which includes temperature, humidity, and other conditions, and implement and test related application programs. In practice, there are lots of image data automatically obtained by unmanned equipments, such as certain types of CCTVs, for monitoring situation in usual interior spaces. This image data can be used as a more effective manner by establishing a system that recognizes situation in specific interior spaces based on the relationship between image and environment data. For instance, it is possible to perform unmanned on/off controls for various electronic equipments, such as air conditioners, lights, and other devices, through analyzing the data acquisited from environment sensors (temperature, humidity, and illumination) as dynamic states are not maintained for a specified period of time. For implementing these controls, this study analyzes environment data acquisited from temperature and humidity sensors and image data input from wireless cameras to recognize situation and that can be used to automatically control environment variables configured by users. Experiments were applied in a laboratory where unmanned controls were effectively performed as automatic on/off controls for the air conditioner and lights installed in the laboratory as certain motions were detected or undetected for a specified period of time.
A Method for the Analysis of the Radiowave Receiving Characteristics of the Electric Detonator
Kim, Mi-Sun ; Park, Jin-Seok ; Ahn, Bierng-Chearl ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 14, issue 1, 2009, Pages 9~16
In this paper, a method is proposed for the analysis of radiowave receiving characteristics of an ammunition with electric detonator. In this method, an ammunition with electric detonator is modelled as a receiving antenna with its gain obtained by computer simulation or measurement. The induced radiowave power is obtained by inserting the gain of the electric detonator in the antenna coupling formula. Radiowave receiving characteristics at very close distances are obtained by Treasuring the transmission coefficient between a half-wave dipole and the electric detonator model. Radiowave receiving characteristics of the electric detonator in a 105mm tank ammunition are obtained using the proposed method and the safety of the 900 MHz RFID reader on the detonator is assessed.

The importance of software has been growing rapidly owing to the development of various Internet and e-business applications. The traditional approaches to software evaluation are based on the development process perspective, and their major concerns are no strongly related to use or customer-oriented evaluation of software. According to resource-based theory, company's resource is consisted of human, technology, market value, and finance. Customer satisfaction improved by product satisfaction and service satisfaction. Based on the previous studies the factors of human resources, technology, customer satisfaction are selected to evaluate software company's competence This research suggests the factor effecting on sales performance. And then statistical methods are used for verifying relationship between the factor and sales performance.

Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 14, issue 1, 2009, Pages 32~42
Information and communication industry, which has been growing rapidly, is now leading the global economic growth, contributing a ripple effect on general business and economic structure. It is said that information and communication industry enables swift economic growth taking a role as a basic industry of information-oriented society. Especially, rapid technical innovation promotes mutual growth of other related industries and it is technology-intensive. The purpose of this research is to analyze the management efficiency of information and communication industry using DEA method, and finally suggests numerical value for inefficient organizations to improve their efficiency. CCR-I, BCC-I efficiency and RTS(Returns to scale) of 29 companies engaged in information and communication industry was evaluated. With the results, we suggested the model companies for benchmarking in information and communication industry. To summarize, 7 companies were selected with CCR-I efficiency rate 1, and 12 companies with BCC-I efficiency rate 1. RTS was finalized with 8 IRS companies, 10 DRS companies, and 11 CRS companies.
The Influence of Diffusion of New Media Platform in Production and Distribution of Contents Industry

Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 14, issue 1, 2009, Pages 43~55
We consider a Direct Input Output Manufacturing System(DIOMS) which has a number of machine centers placed along a built-in Automated Storage/Retrieval System(AS/RS). The Storage/Retrieval (S/R) machine handles parts placed on pallets for the operational aspect of DIOMS and determines the optimal operating policy by combining computer simulation and genetic algorithm. The operational problem includes: input sequencing control, dispatching rule of the SIR machine, machine center-based part type selection rule, and storage assignment policy. For each operating policy, several different policies are considered based on the known research results. In this paper, using the computer simulation and genetic algorithm we suggest a method which gives the optimal configuration of operating policies within reasonable computation time.
Virus Test bed using VMware in Preparation for the Mobile IP Generation
Kim, Hong-Il ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 14, issue 1, 2009, Pages 56~63
Contrast operating system installed on traditional PC, operating system installed to mobile IP host is a status not to be established a definite monopoly system. Accordingly, for the time being, it is expected that operating system operated in mobile IP host will be used various operating systems. Regardless of operating system, this condition is a very vulnerable to modified virus. Because operating system used in an individual host is very diverse, It makes technical development to cure complicated in detection efficiently these virus. In this thesis, By using VMware under the various operating system, I designed and implemented system which is able to test a modified virus. Also I implemented prototype system to operate under the real mobile condition.
TTCG : Three-Tier Context Gathering Technique for Mobile Devices
Sho, Su-Hwan ; Kim, Seung-Hoon ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 14, issue 1, 2009, Pages 64~72
Previous research on sensor networks mainly focused on efficient transmission of data from sensors to fixed sink nodes. Recently there has been active research on mobile sink nodes, but the re-search of an environment where both fixed sink nodes and mobile sinks are present at the same time is rather scarce. This paper proposes a technique for context gathering by mobile devices with the sink functionality added through fixed sinks under a previously built, cluster based multi hop sensor network environment. To this end, clustering of mobile devices were done based on the fixed sinks of a previously built sensor network, and by using appropriate fixed sinks, context gathering was made possible. By mathematical comparison with TTDD routing protocol, which was proposed for mobile sinks, it was conformed that performance increases in energy with the number of mobile sinks, and with the number of movements by mobile devices.
A Study on the Determinants of Consumers' Intention to Switch to New Self-service Technologies in Banking Industry
Kim, Young-Kyun ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 14, issue 1, 2009, Pages 73~89
This research examines the factors that influence a consumer's decision to switch to new self-service technologies. The model related to attitudes, anticipated outcomes and intentions to change a behavior was assessed using structural equation modeling at the context of a banking industry. The results revealed that 1) an attitude toward a staff, Internet banking, and an ATM would influence an attitude toward a bank, 2) an attitude toward Internet banking and ATM influence utility and enjoyment, and an attitude toward Internet banking and staff affect social acceptance, 3) an attitude toward a bank was positively associated with enjoyment, 4) an attitude toward Internet banking had a positive effect on the intention, but an attitude toward an ATM had a negative one, and 5) both anticipated outcomes, enjoyment and social acceptance, were found to influence an intention to change behavior, but utility was found to affect negatively.

In this parer, we give attention to a wireless temperature measurement system using in industrial site. Therefore, we developed and designed the remote measurement system for an industrial environment. To examine an application possibility of a industrial environment, we analyzed a temperature characteristic of wireless temperature system according to a measurement distance, and discussed about a performance difference according to an antenna change.
