The low power wireless sensor networks based on IPv6 technology 6LoWPAN technology is being standardized in the IETF. This paper for the 6LoWPAN environment based on the routing protocol LOAD, route cost applied the packet re-transmission rate which follows in Link Qualities price which uses at course expense and packet transmission Minimum route Cost routing protocol where does on the course wherethe smallest packet re-transmission becomes accomplished proposed. The technique which proposes compared and LOAD and AODV that about 13%, about 16% energy consumption is few respectively averagely, Energy of the entire network equally, used and energy effectiveness and improvement of network life time experiment led and confirmed.
Constructing a Large Interlinked Ontology Network for the Web of Data
Kang, Sin-Jae ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 15~23
This paper presents a method of constructing a large interlinked ontology network for the Web of Data through the mapping among typical ontologies. When an ontology is open to the public, and more easily shared and used by people, its value is increased more and more. By linking CoreOnto, an IT core ontology constructed in Korea, to the worldwide ontology network, CoreOnto can be open to abroad and enhanced its usability. YAGO is an ontology constructed by combining category information of Wikipedia and taxonomy of WordNet, and used as the backbone of DBpedia, an ontology constructed by analyzing Wikipedia structure. So a mapping method is suggested by linking CoreOnto to YAGO and DBpedia through the synset of WordNet.
Research on Digital Restoration of Culture Archetype
Lee, Chang-Soon ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 25~36
Recently, digitizing technologies for conservation and restoration of tangible intangible cultural properties are coming into spotlight. Because cultural properties are easy to be lost and damaged over the years, After construction of cultural assets database we can reconstruct the cultural asset making use of the reverse engineering when needed, and implement digital contents such as computer graphics, 3D virtural realization, hologram, etc. So in this paper, we scrutinize visual and technical factors occurring in different types of digital restoration of cultural properties, and present problems and improvements, and try to research technological prowess and visual mechanism.
Suffix Tree Constructing Algorithm for Large DNA Sequences Analysis
Choi, Hae-Won ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 37~46
A Suffix Tree is an efficient data structure that exposes the internal structure of a string and allows efficient solutions to a wide range of complex string problems, in particular, in the area of computational biology. However, as the biological information explodes, it is impossible to construct the suffix trees in main memory. We should find an efficient technique to construct the trees in a secondary storage. In this paper, we present a method for constructing a suffix tree in a disk for large set of DNA strings using new index scheme. We also show a typical application example with a suffix tree in the disk.
Rule-based Process Control System for multi-product, small-sized production
Im, Kwang-Hyuk ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 47~57
There have been many problems to apply SPC(Statistical Process Control) which is a traditional process control technology to the process of multi-product, small-sized production because a machine in the process manufactures small numbers, but various kinds of products. Therefore, we need the new process control system that can flexibly control the process by setting up the SPEC rules and the KNOWHOW rules. The SPEC rule contains the combination of diverse conditions to specify the characteristics of various products. The KNOWHOW rule is based on engineers' know-how. The study suggests the Rule-base Process Control that can be optimized to the multi-product, small-sized production. It was validated in the process of semiconductor production.
An Empirical Study on Influence of SCM Integration Factors on Visibility and Business Performance
Kim, Eun-Jung ; Kim, Jong-Weon ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 59~72
Competition among enterprises has been more intensified as one among supply chains in the rapidly changing environment. This study investigated the influence of the supply chain integration factors, such as integration of functions inside an enterprise, integration of suppliers, and integration of customers, on the internal and external visibility, and non-financial and financial performances of enterprises. To test these relationships, the survey was conducted on suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors in Korea which have been implementing SCM. Eighty-one questionnaires were collected and used for this study. The study results using the covariance structure analysis are showed as follows. First, the integration of suppliers had a significant influence on both the internal and the external visibility of enterprises, while the integration of functions inside an enterprise had a significant impact on only the internal visibility of enterprises, and the integration of customers on only the external visibility. Second, the internal and external visibility of enterprises had significant impacts on non-financial performance of enterprises. However, the internal and external visibility of enterprises didn't give any direct or indirect influence on the financial performance of enterprises. Third, the non-financial performance of enterprises had a significant impact on financial performance of enterprises.
A Study on the Successful Technology Transfer for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
Joo, Seok-Jeong ; Hong, Soon-Goo ; Park, Soon-Hyoung ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 73~83
The importance of technology transfer in SMEs has become more important as a way of securing technological competitiveness in the global market. However, it is difficult for SMEs to develop their own technology and not to be ready for acceptance of technology transfer as well. In addition, SMEs have difficulties securing technological competitiveness due to the low frequency of successful commercialization from transferred technology. Thus, this study aims to provide a successful technology transfer plan with understanding the current situation in the Technology Transfer Support Project for small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea. To this end, the survey and interviews on SMEs that participated in the "Technology Transfer Support Project" by TIPA (Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs) in 2006 were conducted. The results indicate that (1) it is important to develop technology that was considered needs and sales for end-users, (2) completed technology should be transferred, (3) continuous research on market trends is essential during the technology development, and (4) continuous marketing activities are critical for a successful technology transfer. For policy makers, we suggest a implementation of "a consulting system" to provide a comprehensive consulting on technology transfer to SMEs.
The impact of flow on learning performance in the e-Learning systems
Lee, Moon-Bong ;
Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 85~94
One of the most significant changes is the paradigm shift from teacher-centered learning to learner-centered learning. Along with this paradigm shift, understanding of characteristics of e-learners who are both system users and learners is needed. Before suggesting a comprehensive framework, this study proposes research model that can improve a learning performance using the flow theory. The results show that intrinsic interest and focused attention are significant predictors of learning performance. Especially, intrinsic interest is more important on learning performance than focused attention. Information quality and skill are found to be strong predictors of the intrinsic interest. Also, perceived ease of use, skill and computer self-efficacy are strong predictors of the focused attention.

Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, volume 15, issue 1, 2010, Pages 109~114
In this paper, we developed the web content of statistical analysis using statistical package and Active Server Page (ASP). A statistical package is very difficult to learn and use for non-statisticians, however, non-statisticians want to do analyze the data without learning statistical packages such as SAS, S-plus, and R. Therefore, we developed the web based statistical analysis contents using S-plus which is the popular statistical package and ASP. In real application, we developed the web content for various statistical analyses such as exploratory data analysis, analysis of variance, and time series on the web using water quality data. The developed statistical analysis web content is very useful for non-statisticians such as public service person and researcher. Consequently, combining a web based contents with a statistical package, the users can access the site quickly and analyze data easily.
