Throughput Analysis of the IEEE 802.11g DCF with ERP-OFDM Parameters

A lot of works on the throughput analysis of the IEEE 802.11 DCF have been studied since last few years. However, we should predict the throughput of the IEEE 802.11g that we mostly use today because the existing numerical results do not consider exactly the IEEE 802.11g with the physical layer ERP-OFDM parameters. In particular, we might have different results in the working WLAN s compared with the simple predictions of the throughput using the previous results. In this paper, we directly monitor the ERP-OFDM physical layer parameters on the operating WLANs, and then analyze the saturated DCF throughput with the well-known analytic model. Moreover, we measure the bandwidth utilization on the real WLANs working with FTP services, and then compare them with the analytic results. According to the experiment results, we confirm the usefulness of the analytic models which assume the saturated traffic sources.
Security Improvement of ID-based Multiple Key Management Scheme for t Scalable Ad Hoc Networks

Security supports are a significant factor in mobile ad hoc networks. Especially in dynamic topologies, considering cluster, key management is essential to provide a secure system. Recently, Li-Liu proposed iD-based multiple key management scheme for cluster-based ad hoc networks. However, we found the security weakness of their scheme. In this paper, we analyze the security of Li-Liu`s scheme and show that master secret key and fragment of the master secret key can be revealed to compromised CHs and nodes. Furthermore, we propose a solution to improve the scheme against disclosure of the share key and the master secret key even though system parameters are opened to compromised nodes and modify the Li-Liu`s scheme fitted for a scalable networks. The improved IMKM scheme could be usefully applied in dynamic cluster-based MANETs such as the military battlefields, mobile marketplace and VANETs.
Mining Interesting Sequential Pattern with a Time-interval Constraint for Efficient Analyzing a Web-Click Stream

Due to the development of web technologies and the increasing use of smart devices such as smart phone, in recent various web services are widely used in many application fields. In this environment, the topic of supporting personalized and intelligent web services have been actively researched, and an analysis technique on a web-click stream generated from web usage logs is one of the essential techniques related to the topic. In this paper, for efficient analyzing a web-click stream of sequences, a sequential pattern mining technique is proposed, which satisfies the basic requirements for data stream processing and finds a refined mining result. For this purpose, a concept of interesting sequential patterns with a time-interval constraint is defined, which uses not on1y the order of items in a sequential pattern but also their generation times. In addition, A mining method to find the interesting sequential patterns efficiently over a data stream such as a web-click stream is proposed. The proposed method can be effectively used to various computing application fields such as E-commerce, bio-informatics, and USN environments, which generate data as a form of data streams.
Skin Region Extraction Using Multi-Layer Neural Network and Skin-Color Model

Skin color is a very important information for an automatic face recognition. In this paper, we proposed a skin region extraction method using the MLP(Multi-Layer Perceptron) and skin color model. We use the adaptive lighting compensation technique for improved performance of skin region extraction. Also, using an preprocessing filter, normally large areas of easily distinct non-skin pixels, are eliminated from further processing. Experimental results show that the proposed method has better performance than the conventional methods, and reduces processing time by 31~49% on average.
ACSA : An Adaptive Content System Architecture

Adapting content services to the needs of the users requires content adaptation for context and sensibility. Adapting to context may necessitate distinguishing between video delivery to a PC versus a smart phone, while adapting to sensibility may necessitate between video delivery outside, in a quiet environment, or at home, or offering different movie choices on a sunny summer day, a cold winter day or a holiday season. One key area to address in providing adaptive content services is the design of the delivery system architecture of the adaptive content server. This paper describes several alternatives for this architecture, and outlines some additional concerns that must be considered when the chosen architecture is implemented.

Owing to the spread of smart devices using touch screen, the Korean language (Hangul) input methods have been varied. In this paper, we have researched and analyzed for finding the best input way of Hangul, which is appropriate to smart devices. By using automata theory, we have suggested easy and efficient automata. The automata, which we suggested, can be used in a Hangul input of gesture type.
A Study of External Storage Device File Outflow

A lot of computer users use external memory device. But, same time file efflux incidents are also increasing. There are two ways people use for efflux file. One is moving it after checking file which is running on computer and the other is checking file name only. Checking from running file case, we can identify vestige with running information of applied program but, the case of moving as external device without running file there is no evidence running applied program. So there are a lot of difficulty with forensic investigation. In this paper we suggest the way to help forensic investigation which is method of getting external memory device information of volume and time through its awareness method and connection information and moving to external device without running file after compare the external memory device volume information through link file analysis and getting information of link file formation & access time from link file.
VFH-based Navigation using Monocular Vision

In this paper, a real-time monocular vision based navigation system is developed for the disabled people, where online background learning and vector field histogram are used for identifying obstacles and recognizing avoidable paths. The proposed system is performed by three steps: obstacle classification, occupancy grid map generation and VFH-based path recommendation. Firstly, the obstacles are discriminated from images by subtracting with background model which is learned in real time. Thereafter, based on the classification results, an occupancy map sized at
is produced, each cell of which represents its own risk by 10 gray levels. Finally, the polar histogram is drawn from the occupancy map, then the sectors corresponding to the valley are chosen as safe paths. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed system, it was tested with a variety of obstacles at indoors and outdoors, then it showed the a`ccuracy of 88%. Moreover, it showed the superior performance when comparing with sensor based navigation systems, which proved the feasibility of the proposed system in using assistive devices of disabled people.
Platform development of adaptive production planning to improve efficiency in manufacturing system

In the manufacturing system, production-planning is very important in effective management for expensive production facilities and machineries. To enhance efficiency of Manufacturing Execution System(MES), a manufacturing system that reduces the difference between planning and execution, certain production-planning needs a dispatching rule that is properly designed for characteristic of work information and there should be a appropriate selection for the rule as well. Therefore, in this paper dispatching rule will be selected by several simulations based on characteristics of work information derived from process planning data. By constructing information that are from simulation into ontology, one of the knowledge-based-reasoning, production planning platform based on the selection of dispatching rule will be demonstrated. The platform has strength in its wider usage that is not limited to where it is applied. To demonstrate the platform, RacerPro and Prot
are used in parts of ontology reasoning, and JAVA and FlexChart were applied for production-planning simulation.
Implementing Finite State Machine Based Operating System for Wireless Sensor Nodes

Wireless sensor networks have emerged as one of the key enabling technologies for ubiquitous computing since wireless intelligent sensor nodes connected by short range communication media serve as a smart intermediary between physical objects and people in ubiquitous computing environment. We recognize the wireless sensor network as a massively distributed and deeply embedded system. Such systems require concurrent and asynchronous event handling as a distributed system and resource-consciousness as an embedded system. Since the operating environment and architecture of wireless sensor networks, with the seemingly conflicting requirements, poses unique design challenges and constraints to developers, we propose a very new operating system for sensor nodes based on finite state machine. In this paper, we clarify the design goals reflected from the characteristics of sensor networks, and then present the heart of the design and implementation of a compact and efficient state-driven operating system, SenOS. We describe how SenOS can operate in an extremely resource constrained sensor node while providing the required reactivity and dynamic reconfigurability with low update cost. We also compare our experimental results after executing some benchmark programs on SenOS with those on TinyOS.
Design and Implementation of Personal Communicator based on Embedded Single Board Computer for Controlling of Remote Devices

This paper presents implementation details of home appliance control system using personal communicator based on LN2440 single board computer, which recognizes hand-gesture of user, controls remote moving device such as mobile home server, robot etc. through delivery of proper control commands. Also, this paper includes details of design and implementation of home gateway and mobile home server. The implemented prototype can be utilized to develop various remote control system including a remote exploration robot, intelligent wheelchair based on general purpose embedded system.
Design of a Real Estate Knowledge Information System Based on Semantic Search

The apartment` share of the housing has steadily increased and property assets have been valued in importance as the one of asset value. Information retrieval system using internet is particularly active in the real estate market. However, user satisfaction on real estate information system is not very high, and there is a lack of research on real estate retrieval to increasing efficiency until now. This study presents a new knowledge information system developed to consider region-related factor and individual-related factor in the real estate market. In addition it enables a real estate knowledge system to search various preferential requirements for buyers such as school district, living convenience, easy maintenance as well as price. We made a survey of the search condition preference of experts on 30 real estate agents and then analyzed the result using AHP methodology. Furthermore, this research is to build apartment ontology using semantic web technologies to standardize various terminologies of apartment information and to show how it can be used to help buyers find apartments of the interest. After designing architecture of a real estate knowledge information system, this system is applied to the Busan real estate market to estimate the solutions of retrieval through Multi-Attribute Decision Making(MADM). Based on the results of the analysis, we endowed the buyer and expert`s selected factors with weights in the system. Evaluation results indicate that this new system is to raise not only the value satisfaction of user, but also make it possible to effectively search and analyze the real estate through entropy analysis of MADM. This new system is to raise not only the value satisfaction of buyer`s real estate, but also make it possible to effectively search and analyze the related real estate, consequently saving the searching cost of the buyers.
A Relationship among Service Quality, Trust, Customer Satisfaction and Reuse Intention in Real Estate Information Web-sites

This study empirically examined the structural relationships among service quality of internet real estate information web-sites, trust, customer satisfaction and reuse intention. In order to achieve the purpose, survey method was applied using a sample of 293 real estate information web-site users. The results of this study showed that service quality of real estate web-sites had a significant effect on trust and customer satisfaction. And, the trust of web-sites have influenced on customer satisfaction and reuse intention. Finally, the customer satisfaction of estate information web-sites had a significant positive effect on reuse intention.

Investigation of the Impacts of Adolescents` Volunteer Participation Motivation on Their Satisfaction and Leadership Living Skill Abilities

Adolescent volunteer, a kind of experience activity, can have positive influence on the improvements of sound personality, community ownership, and leadership living skill ability. However, its purpose is today declining because it tends to be only used for the adolescent university admission. This study investigates the impacts of adolescents` volunteer participation motivation(selfish and selfless) on leadership living skill ability(human relationship skill, group activity skill, learning skill, and self-understanding skill) and satisfaction. The study conducted a survey and utilized 222 questionnaires to examine these relationships. The results are as follows. First, selfless participation motivation had significant impacts on four leadership living skill abilities and satisfaction. Second, selfish participation motivation had no significance on four leadership living skill abilities, but had negative significance on satisfaction.
A Comparative Study on ERP performance between Korea and China

As competition has deepened between business institutions, it has been difficult to predict and respond quickly to business environment. Most business firms have started to introduce Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in order to improve their business environment. However, it increases the probability of failure to implement the systems without considering the structural characterisitcs of the organizations. The paper studies what influence the characteristic variables of organizational structure and management system have on the performance of the ERP systems of small and medium-sized enterprises. Also, since it is important to compare the level of information system of Korea and China in the midst of the rapid growth of Chinese economy, the paper&nbs p;compares the ERP performance of Chinese and Korean small and medium sized enterprises that implemented ERP system.
Analysis of Recognition Difference Regarding Informatics Textbook

In this paper, we examine the different viewpoints of teachers and undergraduates on middle school informatics textbook. For this research, a survey is conducted on middle school informatics teachers and undergraduates who are preparing the state examination for informatics-computer teachers. Items of the survey were chosen to investigate the level of completion on the contents and structure of the textbook and to examine overall satisfaction with the textbook. Seven items concerning the level of completion are based on national textbook authorization criteria. A t-test was performed to analyze meaningful difference in perception of textbook between the teacher and student groups. The result shows there is meaningful difference on two items which are `compliance with informatics curriculum` and `content selection and organization`.
