Face Detection for Medical Service Robot

In this paper, we propose a face detection method for medical service robot. The proposed method is robust in complex background and light. Our method is performed by three steps. Firstly the background is eliminated using mean shift algorithm. Thereafter, based on color space, face is extracted. Finally the object is extracted using Haar-like feature method. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed system, it was tested and experimental results show that the proposed method is applicable for medical service robot.
Intelligent System Design for Knowledge Representation and Interpretation of Human Cognition

The development of computer-based modeling system has allowed the operationalization of cognitive science issues. Human cognition has become one of most interesting research subjects in artificial intelligence to emulate human mentality and behavior. This paper introduces a methodology well-suited for designing the intelligent system of human cognition. The research investigates how to elicit and represent cognitive knowledge obtained from individual city-dwellers through the application of fuzzy relational theory to personal construct theory. Crucial to this research is to implement formally and process interpretatively the psychological cognition of urbanites who interact with their environment in order to offer useful advice on urban problem. What is needed is a techniques to analyze cognitive structures which are embodiments of this perceptive knowledge for human being.
An Image Coding Method by Using the Bit-Level Information of Wavelet Coefficients

In this paper, the wavelet image coder, that can encode the bit-level information of wavelet coefficients, is proposed. The proposed coder is used the modified EZW algorithm and significant coefficient array that has bit level information of the wavelet coefficients to reduce the memory requirement in coding process. The significant coefficient array is two dimensional data structure that has bit level information of the wavelet coefficients. The proposed algorithm performs the coding of the significance coefficients and coding of bit level information of wavelet coefficients at a time by using the significant coefficient array. Experimental results show a better or similar performance of the proposed method when compared with conventional embedded wavelet coding algorithm. Especially, the proposed algorithm performs stably without image distortion at various bit rates with minimum memory usage by using the significant coefficient array.
A Study on the User's Internet Addiction Diagnosis by Analyzing Internet Main Activities

Due to people's internet use growth and proliferation of ubiquitous technology, the internet addiction is becoming a social issue. However, the current adults' self-diagnosis measure about internet addiction, the K-scale, is a normal diagnostic method, which it does not consider user characteristics. In this research, we will propose a new internet addiction diagnostic method based on users' non-duty internet activities by using some questionnaire items to collect users' basic internet patterns used on duty related or non-duty related web sites. Since we simply ask for the basic internet usage pattern to each user who does not like to check frankly questionnaire items in the K-scale, the proposed method can find some hidden internet addicts compared to the K-scale with the SPSS statistical analysis tool.
Comparison of Document Clustering algorithm using Genetic Algorithms by Individual Structures

To apply Genetic algorithm toward document clustering, appropriate individual structure is required. Document clustering with the genetic algorithms (DCGA) uses the centroid vector type individual structure. New document clustering with the genetic algorithm (NDAGA) uses document allocated individual structure. In this paper, to find more suitable object structure and process for the document clustering, calculation, amount of calculation, run-time, and performance difference between the two methods were analyzed. In this paper, we have performed various experiments using both DCGA and NDCGA. Result of the experiment shows that compared to DCGA, NDCGA provided 15% faster execution time, about 5~10% better performance. This proves that the document allocated structure is more fitted than the centroid vector type structure when it comes to document clustering. In addition, NDCGA showed 15~25% better performance than the traditional clustering algorithms (K-means, Group Average).
The Improved-Scheme of Password using Final Approval Time

The internet is currently becoming popularized and generalized in our daily life. Recently, a lot of hacking tools have appeared on the internet. And damage size and seriousness the measurement is impossible. The password security protects oneself and information is the tool which is essential for from the internet, if this emphasizes no matter how, does not go to extremes. If applies a encryption, a 7 character password is sufficient, so long as attackers don't pick easily guessed values. In this paper, entering password using the virtual keyboard, I propose a new and improved one time password algorithm using information a part of ID and final approval time.
Development of a Tangible Interface using Multi-touch Display on an Irregular Surface

Multi-touch display system has recently attracted world wide attention due to easy accessibility to the various interactive media without any specialized equipments. Especially, Microsoft Sphere(R) shows a considerable promise in treating non-fiat multi-touch display. The distinctive feature of the system is a stable multi-touch interaction on a spherical display. To extend the possibility of the interactions to the more various display surfaces, this paper propose a multi-touch interaction system in the circumstance of the irregular convex surface. The proposed method can be used efficiently in various tangible interface, for example, the interactive diorama system at the exhibition or the tangible arcade game.
Web accessibility Education Trends and Discussion to Vitalize a Web accessibility Education

The development of a web has made our life more convenient than ever before; however, the elderly and disabled people have not advantage on it. Due to "Anti-Discrimination against and Remedies for Persons with Disabilities Act" enacted in 2008, the importance of web accessibility education has been important, but education on the web accessibility has not been actively implemented yet. Thus, in this paper the trends of web accessibility education in both domestic government agencies and private organizations are reviewed. In addition, its trends on the foreign government agencies, private organizations, and institutions of universities are summarized. To achieve this research goal, literature review was carried out and data collected from the both domestic and foreign countries were compared. Based on the review, the way to vitalize web accessibility education in Korea is discussed. The contribution of this paper is that web accessibility education of domestic and foreign institutions are compared for the first time and thereby, the implications for activating web accessibility education are suggested.

Researches on performances analysis of companies which adopted ERP system and factors influencing introduction of ERP system have been conducted. This study presents service quality and system quality on ERP system and verifies how each factor influences the users satisfaction. This study finally verifies relationship among job satisfaction, job performance and satisfaction of system.
The Effect of Factors Influencing RFID Adoption and Performance and the Moderating Effect of Environment Uncertainty within Supply Chain

A empirical study investigating firms' attitudes and behaviors regarding of RFID technology within supply chain is very limited. Thus, this study examines the determinants influencing firms' adoption and performance of RFID within the supply chain. Particularly, this study focus on the impacts of the companies' relationship characteristics, including strategic fit, interdependence, compatibility, and long-term orientation affection RFID adoption and performance within the supply chain. Furthermore, the study includes environment uncertainty as a moderating effect between relationship characteristics and RFID adoption. The proposed research model was tested using structural equation modeling from 227 employees. Results of this study support the proposed hypotheses. The implication of this study suggest a new theoretical framework explaining RFID adoption and performance with the supply chain.
Economic Evaluation of Cloud Computing Investment Alternatives

We provide an economic evaluation model to help managers make reasonable decision for the investment in the appropriate type of cloud computing. Cloud computing can be classified into public, private and hybrid architecture and we evaluate their attractiveness using traditional NPV and real option methods. We conduct economic analysis by comparing traditional software delivery model with various types of cloud computing. The work compares each mode of cloud computing against each other using passive NPV and dynamic real-option method. For more objective and conservative evaluation of investment alternatives, we eliminate conventional benefits that are often subjective or hard to measure, and count only the reduction of investment cost and maintenance cost as benefit. We argue that hybrid and public cloud computing can be undervalued without their intrinsic options such as abandonment, expansion and contraction.
The effect of IT functional quality on operational quality and organizational performance

In this study, an analysis was conducted to investigate the process how information technology(IT) quality affects organizational performance. Acquisition of IT by itself is not sufficient for the improvement of organizational performance, which additionally requires the operations activity using IT to meditate between IT and organizational performance. This study classified the IT quality into functional quality and operational quality. The functional quality is defined as intrinsic characteristics of IT itself while the operational quality is defined as effective support of IT for organizational management activities. Our research model proposed that the functional quality has indirect effect meditated by the operational quality on organizational performance. The statistical test using structural equation modelling in empirical research showed insignificant direct effect and significant indirect meditation effect of the functional quality on organizational performance via the operational quality. This paper concludes with contribution of this study, managerial implication of the research findings and further research issues.
