A Study on the Characteristics of a Rectifying Circuit for Wireless Power Transmission using a Passive RAID System

In this paper, we design rectifing circuits at 910MHz, which is used for passive RFID system, for wireless power transmission system by using two types of schottkey diodes HSMS_2822 and HSMS 2852, and the RF-DC conversion efficiencies for the curcuits are compared and analyzed in terms of input power and load resistance. When the input power is -20 to 17dBm, the conversion efficiency for HSMS_2852 is larger than in case of HSMS_2822. The output voltage and current at the load of the fabricated rectifying circuit are measured through a dipole antenna when input power is transmitted by a RFID reader and the diatance varies. The measured ouput volatge and current for the distance of 50cm are 2.5V and 5.75mA.
Human Activity Recognition using Model-based Gaze Direction Estimation

In this paper, we propose a method which recognizes human activity using model-based gaze direction estimation in an indoor environment. The method consists of two steps. First, we detect a head region and estimate its gaze direction as prior information in the human activity recognition. We use color and shape information for the detection of head region and use Bayesian Network model representing relationships between a head and a face for the estimation of gaze direction. Second, we recognize event and scenario describing the human activity. We use change of human state for the event recognition and use a rule-based method with combination of events and some constraints. We define 4 types of scenarios related to the gaze direction. We show performance of the gaze direction estimation and human activity recognition with results of experiments.
MRC MMSE Equalization for SC-FDE in Amplify-and-Forward Relaying Networks

Relay-assisted multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technique has become a promising candidate for next generation broadband wireless communications. In this paper, we propose maximum ratio combining (MRC) minimum mean-square-error (MMSE) equalization for single carrier-frequency domain equalizer (SC-FDE) in amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying networks. The performance of SC-FDE system can be improved considerably by achieving both the diversity gain and the MMSE equalization gain when the signals from source-destination (S->D) and source-relay-destination (S->R->D) are combined and equalized by means of the MMSE criteria. We find the weighting coefficients of MRC combining and the tap coefficients of MMSE equalizer for SC-FDE in AF relaying networks. Simulation results show that the proposed relay-based system considerably outperforms the conventional SC-FDE system.
Multirate Multicarrier DS/CDMA with 2-Domain Spreading

Multicarrier-Direct Sequence/Code Division Multiple Access(MC-DS/ CDMA) which is a combination of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) and DS/CDMA has been of significant interest as a means to take such advantages as bandwidth efficiency, high bit rate and robustness against multipath fading. In this paper we study a reduced-complexity multiuser detection aided multirate MC-DS/CDMA with time(T)-domain and frequency(F)-domain spreading. The one- dimensional orthogonal variable spreading factor(1D OVSF) code extracted from 2D OVSF code are used as a spreading code in T/F-domain. The proposed system will use code grouping interference cancellation(CGIC) receiver to reduce Multiuser Interference(MUI). The CGIC receiver uses code grouping by the correlation properties of 1D OVSF code and dose not requires the code information and activity of other user. The multiuser detector with CGIC receiver will be analyzed in Time- and Frequency-domain separately(jointly). The system performance is analytically derived in Additive White Gaussian Noise(AWGN) channel and we also compare the system performance between proposed system and T/F spreaded single(multi) rate multiuser MC-DS/CDMA system. In the computer simulation results, the proposed receiver of demonstrated huge performance improvement over conventional matched filter receiver.
Development of Automatic Smear Equipment for Measuring Surface Radioactivity Contamination

This paper was development of surface contamination automatic smear sampling for measuring radioactive contamination in radiation controlled area of nuclear facility. In indirect method a smear paper are used manually. Activity on the smear paper is affected by varying the pressures applied, by the smearing time, by the difference of ares sampled during smearing. By means of these there are erroneous. In the future the apparatus will be developed as a portable apparatus measuring smear activity automatically by adding radiation detection instrument.
Discrete-Time Sliding Mode Control for Robot Manipulators

In the real-field of control cases for robot manipulators, there always exists a modeling error, which results the model has the uncertainties in its parameters and/or structure. In many modem applications, digital computers are extensively used to implement control algorithms to control such systems. The discretization of the nonlinear dynamic equations of such systems results in a complicated discrete dynamic equations. Therefore, it will be difficult to design a discrete-time controller to give good tracking performances in the presence of certain uncertainties. In this paper, a discrete-time sliding mode control algorithm for nonlinear and time varying robot manipulators with uncertainties is presented. Sufficient conditions for guaranteeing the convergence of the discrete-time SMC system are derived. As example simulations, the proposed SMC algorithm is applied to a two-link robotic manipulator with unknown dynamics. The results of the simulation indicate that the developed control scheme is effective in manipulators and electro-mechanical system control.

As the Information and Communication Technologies continue to advance, some sensitive services (e.g. e-commerce, on-line financial service, and etc.) have spread rapidly. Accordingly, ensuring the safety of the sensitive service itself using personal Information as well as the protection of personal Information Is becoming very important. In addition, with the popularization of smart phone and the universalized use of wireless Internet, many services that have been provided on the basis of the conventional wired network are increasingly propagating to wired and wireless converged network environment. These changes in the network environment requires new paradigm for the pursuit of safe and stable communication. In this paper, we propose seamless and secure service framework that can facilitate a sustainable secure connection between the user terminal and the sensitive service system by using both the personal and network Information. The proposed service framework is capable of isolating the source of authorized use by a third party of the personal Information as far as the user terminal is not lost, although some personal Information is disclosed. Besides, it can provide a seamless and safe service environment even if the access network is changed by relocation of terminals in the heterogeneous mobile network environment.
Research of the Fairness about On-line Testing

Teaching and learning between instructor and students and testing for evaluation are progressed remotely in distance education. Current research trends are focused primarily on the distance learning services. Testing to estimate the effectiveness of training is important as lecturing, but it has not been studied much until now. In this paper, we suggest DEIS(Distance Education Invigilation System) for a fair examination. DEIS identify examinees by verifying their real name with I-PIN and comparing the still image of the candidates the software stored on the server and the photos that are registered at the enrollment.
The Design and Development of Web based Game Evaluation System

Effective and Economic game evaluation before game publishing is very important for game development company. In this paper, we designed and developed an effective web based game evaluation system according to three major game genre including MMORPG, FPS, and web game. The proposed evaluation model consists of five evaluation items such as game interest, competitiveness, technology, earning power, and market value and has common evaluation items and independent ones according to game genre. To reflect characteristics of each game genre, we divided evaluation items into common evaluation elements and individual ones according to game genre. We applied the proposed system to two real games of a game development company and showed the result.
An Object Detection and Tracking System using Fuzzy C-means and CONDENSATION

Detecting a moving object from videos and tracking it are basic and necessary preprocessing steps in many video systems like object recognition, context aware, and intelligent visual surveillance. In this paper, we propose a method that is able to detect a moving object quickly and accurately in a condition that background and light change in a real time. Furthermore, our system detects strongly an object in a condition that the target object is covered with other objects. For effective detection, effective Eigen-space and FCM are combined and employed, and a CONDENSATION algorithm is used to trace a detected object strongly. First, training data collected from a background image are linear-transformed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Second, an Eigen-background is organized from selected principal components having excellent discrimination ability on an object and a background. Next, an object is detected with FCM that uses a convolution result of the Eigen-vector of previous steps and the input image. Finally, an object is tracked by using coordinates of an detected object as an input value of condensation algorithm. Images including various moving objects in a same time are collected and used as training data to realize our system that is able to be adapted to change of light and background in a fixed camera. The result of test shows that the proposed method detects an object strongly in a condition having a change of light and a background, and partial movement of an object.
Multiple-Model Probabilistic Design for Centralized Repetitive Controllers of Multiple Systems

This paper presents a method to design a centralized repetitive controller that is robust to variations in the multiple system parameters. The uncertain parameters are specified probabilistically by their probability distribution functions. Instead of working with the distribution functions directly, the centralized repetitive controller is designed from a set of models that are generated from the specified probability functions. With this multiple-model design approach, any number of uncertain parameters that follow any type of distribution functions can be treated. Furthermore, the controller is derived by minimizing a frequency-domain based cost function that produces monotonic convergence of the tracking error as a function of repetition number. Numerical illustrations show how the proposed multiple-model design method produces a repetitive controller that is significantly more robust than an optimal repetitive controller designed from a single nominal model of the multiple system.
A Study of Factors for Evaluating Smartphone Selection and Use using Fuzzy AHP

Smartphones are widely used as a mobile communication devices with more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary feature phone. As the market expands, many brand-new smartphones are released and chosen by (potential) smartphone users. In spite of smartphone's popularity, little research of the factors affecting the evaluation of smartphones and their influences on smartphone choice have been performed. Therefore, we aim to analyze evaluation factors of smartphone selection and use in this research. We use Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process method, a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) model, to find the relative importance among the factors considering the fuzziness of pair-wise comparison using AHP. After reviewing related works and interviewing the focus group, we extract the five independent factors influencing the choice and use of a smartphone. Pair-wise comparison and triangle fuzzy numbers are used to calculate the relative importance of factors. We analyze not only the whole interviewees' responses, but the differences between smartphone users and non-users. Practical implications are delivered in concluding remarks.
Clustering Parts Based on the Design and Manufacturing Similarities Using a Genetic Algorithm

The part family (PF) formation in a cellular manufacturing has been a key issue for the successful implementation of Group Technology (GT). Basically, a part has two different attributes; i.e., design and manufacturing. The respective similarity in both attributes is often conflicting each other. However, the two attributes should be taken into account appropriately in order for the PF to maximize the benefits of the GT implementation. This paper proposes a clustering algorithm which considers the two attributes simultaneously based on pareto optimal theory. The similarity in each attribute can be represented as two individual objective functions. Then, the resulting two objective functions are properly combined into a pareto fitness function which assigns a single fitness value to each solution based on the two objective functions. A GA is used to find the pareto optimal set of solutions based on the fitness function. A set of hypothetical parts are grouped using the proposed system. The results show that the proposed system is very promising in clustering with multiple objectives.

This studies shows that Balanced Score-Card(BSC) affects corporate performance and performance measurement systems affect corporate performance, depending on whether they are customer-oriented or finance-oriented. The results of the study are as followings; First, utilization of BSC are significant relationships with performance assessment system. Second, performance assessment system are significant relationships with corporate performance. Third, utilization of Balanced Score-Card(BSC) affects corporate performance.
A Study of Factors Influencing the Intention to Use Smartphone

Smartphone is a new information technology that converges PDA into a mobile phone. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model, this study examines factors influencing the intention to use smartphone. Independent variables of this research are composed of the subjective norm, innovativeness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, cost relevance. Questionnaires are collected from 289 students who are using a smartphone. The results are following: first, the subjective norm, innovativeness, perceived usefulness, the perceived enjoyment, and cost relevance have positive effect on the intention to use smartphone, but the perceived ease of use has not. Second, the perceived enjoyment is found to be the strongest predictor of the intention to use.
The Impact of Smartphone Application Quality Factors on Trust and the Users' Continuance Intention according to Gender

Mobile applications are growing fast and the rising popularity of smartphones, which was supposed to take the market even further. The purposes of this study are as follows. First, we find out what really drives the trust and the intention to continuance use the mobile applications. Second, we explore gender differences in perceptions and relationships between the quality factors and trust. The 231 sets of data collected from 120 male and 111 female, who use the smartphones, were tested against the model using PLS 2.0. The results of this study are as follows. First, perceived usefulness and connectivity had an effect on trust and continuance intension. Second, gender had moderate effect on the relationship between quality factors and trust.
The Exploratory Study of Examining the Antecedents of Employee's Organizational Change Commitment : Focusing On Affective and Normative Commitment

The purpose of this study is to examine the antecedents of employee's organizational change commitment during organizational change. We propose that leader-member exchange (LMX) and trust in the organization could foster employee's commitment to change. A theoretical model linking the role of leader-member exchange and trust in the organization to affective commitment and normative commitment to organizational change through leadership have tested in a study of 303 respondents from 15 organizations reporting that their organizations were undergoing significant change due to the turmoil environment and M&A. We develop the hypotheses from the prior studies and empirically test them in the context of personnels who have survived from the drastic organizational changes. Based on the analyzed results, we discussed the theoretical implications and limitations.
