The development of indoor location measurement System using Zigbee and GPS

This paper proposes a new indoor location recognition system using a ZigBee network and a global positioning system(GPS). The proposed location recognition system applies GPS values that are mainly used for outdoor location recognition, to indoor location recognition; hence the techniques conventionally separated for the indoor and outdoor location recognition are integrated into one location recognition technique. The proposed system recognizes a location using the distance between nodes. Although the distance between nodes can be calculated by measuring the strength of the received ZigBee signals, generally the measured distance is not accurate and has high error rates since the strength of the ZigBee signals is different depending on the distance. In order to reduce the error rate, we have subdivided the output power of the received ZigBee signals into five levels. When a moving node generates a signal, each fixed node transmits the received signal strength and its own GPS information to other nodes, so the moving node can find its own accurate location in terms of the received signals.
Application of Tactile Slippage Sensation Algorithm in Robot Hand Control System

This paper presents application of a new tactile slippage sensation algorithm in robot hand control system. The optical three-axis tactile sensor is a type of tactile sensor capable of defining normal and shear forces simultaneously. The tactile sensor is mounted on fingertip of robotic hand. Shear force distribution is used to define slippage sensation in the robot hand system. Based on tactile slippage analysis, a new control algorithm was proposed. To improve performance during object handling motions, analysis of slippage direction is conducted. The control algorithm is classified into two phases: grasp-move-release and grasp-twist motions. Detailed explanations of the control algorithm based on the existing robot arm control system are presented. The experiment is conducted using a bottle cap, and the results reveal good performance of the proposed control algorithm to accomplish the proposed object handling motions.
Design of Ultra Low-Voltage NCL Circuits in Nanoscale MOSFET Technology

Ultra low-power design and energy harvesting applications require digital systems to operate under extremely low voltages approaching the point of balance between dynamic and static power consumption which is attained in the sub-threshold operation mode. Delay variations are extremely large in this mode. Therefore, in this paper, a new low-power logic design methodology using asynchronous NCL circuits is proposed to reduce power consumption and not to be affected by various technology variations in nanoscale MOSFET technology. The proposed NCL is evaluated using various benchmark circuits at 0.4V supply voltage, which are designed using 45nm MOSFET predictive technology model. The simulation results are compared to those of conventional synchrouns logic circuits in terms of power consumption and speed.
Design and Implementation of Borderless Casual Game Server using Virtualization

This paper suggests the way to build the integration of internal server by using link server with virtualization method. With the development of on-line games, game communities began to be formed by users, players get fun from playing games, sharing online space with friends, clans, and parties. However, the limit of physical server restrict the allows under average a hundred users to play at same time and place, and three thousand to ten thousand people to access to game community with chat, message, friends functions. By following the explanation of the method from this paper, this limit can be overcome. It will give the function to share information of all connected users in one displayed server. This paper demonstrates the key quality requirements of the server built by this way such as scalable architecture, consistency, and latency is fulfilled.
CUCE: clustering protocol using node connectivity and node energy

Network life time is very important issue for wireless sensor network(WSN). It is very important to design sensor networks for sensors to utilize their energies in effective ways. A-PEGASIS that basically bases on PEGASIS and enhances in two aspects-an elegant chain generation algorithm and periodical update of chains. However, it has problems in the chain generation mechanism and some possibility of network partitioning or sensing hole problem in the network, in LEACH related protocols. This dissertation proposes a new clustering protocol to solve the co-shared problems in the previous protocols. The basic idea of our scheme is using the table for node connectivity. The results show that the network life time would be extended in about 1.8 times longer than LEACH and 1.5 times longer than PEGASIS-A.
Real Time Object Tracking Method using Multiple Cameras

Recently, the study about object tracking using image processing has been active in the field of security and surveillance. Existing security and surveillance systems using multiple cameras have been operating independently. Thus, the chase was difficult when the tracking object move to other monitored areas. In this paper, we propose the way to change the control of camera automatically following the moving direction of objects in multiple cameras. The proposed method detects the object and tracks the object using color information and direction information of object. The color information obtains using the hue and the direction information obtains using the optical flow. At this time, the optical flow is detected for the entire image area of an object that is not applied only to reduce the computational complexity makes it possible to track in real time. In addition, it can be solved to inconvenience of security surveillance system to use existing camera by tracking an object automatically.
Small Target Detection using Morphology and Gaussian Distance Function in Infrared Images

We propose a method that finds candidate targets based on morphology and detects a small target from them using modified gaussian distance function. The existing small target detection methods use predictive filters or morphology. The methods using predictive filters take long to approach least errors. The methods using morphology are weak at clutters and need to consider size of a small target when selecting size of structure elements. We propose a robust method for small target detection to complete the existing methods. First, the proposed method deletes clutters using a median filter. Next, it does closing and opening operation using various size of structure elements, and figures target candidate pixels with subtraction operation between the results of closing and opening operation. It detects an exact small target using a gaussian distance function from the candidates target areas. The proposed method is less sensitive to clutters, and shows a detection rate of 98%.
An event-driven intelligent failure analysis for marine diesel engines

This paper aims to develop an event-driven failure analysis and prognosis system that is able to monitor ship status in real time, and efficiently react unforeseen system failures. In general, huge amount of recorded sensor data must be effectively interpreted for failure analysis, but unfortunately noise and redundant information in the gathered sensor data are obstacles to a successful analysis. This paper therefore applies 'Equal-frequency binning' and 'Entropy' techniques to extract only important information from the raw sensor data while minimizing information loss. The efficiency of the developed failure analysis system is demonstrated with the collected sensor data from a marine diesel engine.
Ontology-based Implementation of the Process-oriented Knowledge Map

A knowledge map is a diagramed network among knowledge which is related with each other in terms of the referential navigation. To formally as well as structurely represent various contextual use of knowledge, the ontology technology has been recommended to be applied. This research proposes a methodology to build the ontology-based knowledge map promoting referential navigation between knowledge. To prove the validity of the proposed concepts, an ontology-based knowledge map is designed as an example, which demonstrates whether the designed knowledge network in the knowledge map is underpinned by the referential navigation between knowledge.
A Study on the Effects of Service Quality of Financial Industry on Service Performance-Based on Mutual Savings Bank

Mutual savings banks have today met many difficulties because of various reasons. To overcome these difficulties, they have to change to be more customer centric and to adopt customer satisfaction management so that they can satisfy customers asking for diversified and professional service. This study aims to investigate the relationship between various dimensions of service quality and service performance such as customer satisfaction, customer trust, and repurchase intension. This study categorized service quality as interaction quality, outcome quality, and physical environment quality. Moreover, this study examined whether interest sensitivity and bank reputation had the moderating effects between service quality and service performance. The study results may provide practitioners and researchers in financial industry with some implications and guidelines for mutual savings banks' competitiveness.
