A Development of SNS Application for Location based Information Sharing using Smartphone

Recently, as increasing use of smartphone, the development of social network service(SNS) applications is very active because of the mobility of smartphone. In addition, as the demand of the location based service(LBS) supporting mobile information is expanded, LBS combined with SNS improves the usability of smart phones. This paper proposes the smartphone application that provides the information for SNS generated depending on the location, by tracking the user's location in real time.
A Study on the Electrical Difference for The Limbs and Thoracic Impedance using Real-Time Bio-impedance Measurement System

Bio-impedance measurement system(BMS) is non-invasive and easy to implement a measurement method that allows determining the water content of a patient. The measurement conditions, the hardware specifications and the configurations of BMS devices must be well chosen in order to get correct and reproducible results. BMS was then conducted for the limbs and the thoracic using a lock-in amplifier and LabView control system with a frequency range of 1kHz-100kHz. From both the measurement data and the simulation results, we verified that the parameters in the proposed equivalent model and the trend of impedance variation according to the multi-frequency of applied current source are similar to those of human body. We believe that the real-time BMS developed in this study is highly reliable and applicable to the research on the clinical characteristics of the human being's impedance.
Implementation of IEEE 802.15.4a Software Stack for Ranging Accuracy Based on SDS-TWR

The localization accuracy in wireless sensor networks using ranging-based localization algorithms is greatly influenced by the ranging accuracy. Software implementation of HAL(Hardware Abstraction Layer) and MAC(Medium Access Layer) should seamlessly deliver the raw performance of ranging-based localization provided by hardware capability fully to the applications without degrading the raw performance. This paper presents the design and implementation of the software stack for IEEE 802.15.4a which supports normal ranging mode of the Nanotron's NA5TR1 RF chip. The experiment results shows that average ranging error rate with our implementation is 24.5% for the normal mode of the SDS-TWR ranging scheme.
Design of a new adaptive circuit to compensate for aging effects of nanometer digital circuits

In nanoscale MOSFET technology, aging effects such as Negative Bias Temperature Instability(NBTI), Hot carrier Injection(HCI), Time Dependent Dielectric Breakdown (TDDB) and so on which affect circuit reliability can lead to severe degradation of digital circuit performance. Therefore, this paper has proposed the adaptive compensation circuit to overcome the aging effects of digital circuits. The proposed circuit deploys a power gating structure with variable power switch width and variable forward body-biasing voltage in order to adaptively compensate for aging induced performance degradation, and has been designed in 45nm technology.
Newton-Raphson's Double Precision Reciprocal Using 32 bit multiplier

Modern graphic processors, multimedia processors and audio processors mostly use floating-point number. High-level language such as C and Java use both single precision and double precision floating-point number. In this paper, an algorithm which computes the reciprocal of double precision floating-point number using a 32 bit multiplier is proposed. It divides the mantissa of double precision floating-point number to upper part and lower part, and calculates the reciprocal of the upper part with Newton-Raphson algorithm. And it computes the reciprocal of double precision floating-point number with calculated upper part reciprocal as the initial value. Since the number of multiplications performed by the proposed algorithm is dependent on the mantissa of floating-point number, the average number of multiplications per an operation is derived from some reciprocal tables with varying sizes.
The approach for supporting synchronous Ethernet in 10G EPON

In recent, many countries and research institutes have been studying how to construct the high-speed subscriber access network. Task Force team of IEEE 802.3ah has accomplished the standardization of EPON which is the next generation subscriber access network. EPON doesn't still have the bandwidth enough to support the new service(e.g various multimedia service) which demands the high bandwidth. For these new multimedia services,10G EPON is the next generation subscriber access network which expanded the up-down bandwidth range of 1G EPON 10 times in order to support demanding high bandwidth. We have proposed the model which can accommodate IEEE 802.1 AVB traffics smoothly in 10G EPON and suggesting the Intra-ONU scheduling model which makes this model operate effectively.
A method of determining the user's state of movement based on the smart device usage

The smart device is a personal device and has the ability to use built-in sensors. Therefore, it is possible to provide individually customized services through recognizing the user's context from the sensor information. For these customized services, the user's moving status is the important information that can be utilized in many areas. Because the existing researches on determining the user's moving status assume that the user has a smart device in his/her pocket or bag, if the user is using his/her smart device it is not suitable for exactly distinguishing the user's moving status. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes an algorithm to determine the user's using and moving status. Our proposed algorithm utilizes smart device's events to distinguish the smart device usage and the accelerometer sensor data to determine the user's movement. As an analyzing result through the real experiment, the accuracy of our algorithm is about 75 percent on average.
A Design of an SARPE System considering the moving speed and direction of a vehicle

This paper proposes a design of SARPE(Speed and Azimuth based Routing Protocol for Emergency) system which transfers an emergency message rapidly and accurately by minimizing path disconnection with a vehicle's speed and azimuth in case of accidents. The SARPE system accomplishes the path search based on an azimuth in order to minimize unnecessary messages and workload. It also selects the paths with the lowest probability that the path disconnection will happen by using the difference between the speed(maximum, minimum) of intermediate nodes and the average speed of a source node and destination node. Therefore, this paper minimizes the path resetting work happening due to path disconnection and transfers an emergency message rapidly and accurately.
Development of multi-dimensional framework for evaluating the pubic service

Because recently the efficiency and effectiveness of public services has been an important issue, various studies related with performance management system in the area of public service has been actively investigated. The study of the performance management system relied on qualitative or quantitative assessment. However, because the field of the public service is very wide and complex, holistic view is required. Therefore, this study presents a new framework for performance management system which can evaluate public service based on the various aspects by adding carefully quantitative evaluation, DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) and qualitative assessment. Finally, by applying to the public service of Changwon, the usefulness and feasibility of this framework are validated.
A Study of Factors Affecting Attitude Towards Using Mobile Cloud Service

As smart devices have proliferated and mobile networks have accelerated, various wired IT(Information Technology) services are transplanted in wireless environments. Cloud computing service, enabling individual users or firm users to download data from a server and upload data after manipulating data, is also available in mobile devices. Unlike cloud service in wired network environments, mobile cloud service provides differentiated aspects in mobility, security issues caused by persistent connection to networks. In this paper we aim to analyze the factors affecting the user attitude and their structural relationships towards mobile cloud service use. We extend TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) to consider the characteristics of mobile environments. Research findings, analyzed by SEM(Structural Equation Model), are explained and practical implications are presented with concluding remarks.
Forecasting Unemployment Rate using Social Media Information

Social media has many advantages. It can gain latest information with real time, be spread rapidly, easily be reproduced and distributed regardless of its form. These advantages can result in real time predictions using the latest information, which is possible due to the increase in social demand for more quick and accurate economic variable predictions. In this paper we adopted ARIMAX and ECM model to predict the unemployment rate and as a social information we used the Google Index provided by Google Trend. Also we used News Index as a domestic social information. The process of fitting statistical model considered in this paper can be adopted to predict various socio/economic indices as well as unemployment rate.
A Study of Internet Portal Sites Positioning Using Multi-Dimensional Scaling

While the competition among many portal sites has been very serious in the Internet, very little research has been conducted on the perceptions of the users visiting those sites. To investigate how differently the Internet users perceive each of the portal sites, we attempted to analyze the similarities of five popular portal sites (Daum, Naver, Google, Nate, and MSN). By measuring the conceptual distances among the portal sites using Multi-Dimensional Scaling, this study was intended to understand the positions of the sites relative to those of other sites. The results of this study is expected to contribute to our understanding of competitive contexts among the portal sites.
The effects of outsourcing strategies and outsourcing partner selection factors on the success of outsourcing and BSC performance

Outsourcing is used as one of the effective methods while many companies have to start to innovate everything because of increased fierce global competition, low-growth economy, and varied customers' requirements. Under these conditions, a lot of firms are introducing outsourcing for cost savings, risk reduction, management efficiency, strengthen core competence. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of between outsourcing success by outsourcing strategy and factors for selecting outsourcing partners and BSC success in the Korea manufacturing. This study was intended to make it possible to get a practical approach on evaluation and compensation of the outsourcing manufacturing enterprises by identifying outsourcing success factors and BSC performance factors. When an outsourcing partner of enterprise is selected, detailed assessment will be possible in terms of partner's competence, financial factors, institutional factors, and operational factors.
A Empirical Study on the Relationship of Corporate Entrepreneurship with Market Orientation and Competence Enhancement

This paper investigates the role of corporate entrepreneurship for enhancing a firm's market orientation and competence. It distinguishes exploitive competence enhancement from explorative competence enhancement. The results reveal that corporate entrepreneurship influences both exploitive competence enhancement and explorative competence enhancement. Interestingly, among the components of market orientation, competitor orientation plays key roles, facilitating interfunctional coordination, and thus increasing exploitive competence enhancement and explorative competence enhancement. However, customer orientation affects only explorative competence enhancement.
