Space-Frequency Block Coded OFDMA Transmission System using Multiple Relays for Shadow Area

In order to cope with shadow areas and to extend cell coverage, relay-assisted wireless communication systems have been widely studied. In this paper, we propose a space-frequency(SF) block coded orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA) transmission system in a relaying multi-path shadow area. The receiving performance of mobile station in a shadow area can be improved by applying SF block code to the recovered signals of multiple relays before re-transmitting them. The simulation result shows that the proposed SF block coded OFDMA transmission system considerably outperforms the conventional single-path OFDMA transmission system.
Characteristics of Bio-impedance for Implantable Electrode Design in Human Skin

Electrode contact resistance is a crucial factor in physiological measurements and can be an accuracy limiting factor to perform electrical impedance measurements. The electrical bio-impedance values can be calculated by the conductivity and permittivity of underlying tissue using implant electrode in human skin. In this study we focus on detecting physiological changes in the human skin layers such as the sebum layer, stratum corneum layer, epidermis layer, dermis layer, subcutaneous fat and muscle. The aim of this paper is to obtain optimal design for implantable electrode at subcutaneous fat layer through the simulation by finite element methods(FEM). This is achieved by evaluating FEM simulations geometrically for different electrodes in length(50 mm, 70 mm), in shape(rectangle, round square, sexangle column), in material(gold) and in depth(22.325 mm) based on the information coming from the subcutaneous fat layer. In bio-impedance measurement experiments, according to electrode shapes and applied voltage, we have ascertained that there was the highest difference of bio-impedance in subcutaneous fat layer. The methodology of simulation can be extended to account for different electrode designs as well as more physical phenomena that are relevant to electrical impedance measurements of skin and their interpretation.
Implementation of a CMOS FM RX front-end with an automatic tunable input matching network

In this paper, we propose a CMOS FM RX front-end structure with an automatic tunable input matching network and implement it using a 65nm CMOS technology. The proposed FM RX front-end is designed to change the resonance frequency of the input matching network at the low noise amplifier (LNA) according to the channel frequency selected by a phase-locked loop (PLL) for maintaining almost constant sensitivity level when an embedded antenna type with high frequency selectivity characteristic is used for FM receiver. The simulation results of implemented FM front-end show about 38dB of voltage gain, below 2.5dB of noise figure, and -15.5dBm of input referred intercept point (IIP3) respectively, while drawing only 3.5mA from 1.8V supply voltage including an LO buffer.
A spectral efficient transmission method for ofdm-based power line communications

Powerline communications (PLC) is a promising medium for network access technology where smart grid aided network services can be provided. In the presence of frequency selective fading in the PLC channel, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a technique for reliable communications. This paper presents a spectral efficient method using a superimposed hidden pilot for OFDM-based PLC systems. Based on the scheme using a hidden pilot, it is possible to estimate the channel with no consumption of bandwidth, but with utilization of power allocated to the hidden pilot. Computer simulations showed that the proposed scheme provides higher achievable data rate than that of the conventional schemes in low voltage and medium voltage transmission lines.
Design and Implementation of a new aging sensing circuit based on Flip-Flops

In this paper, a new on-chip aging sensing circuit based on flip-flops is proposed to detect a circuit failure of MOSFET digital circuits casued by aging phenomenon such as HCI and BTI. The proposed circuit uses timing windows to warn against a guardband violation of sequential circuits, and generates three warning bits right before circuit failures occur. The generated bits can apply to an adaptive self-tuning method for reliable system design as control signals. The aging sensor circuit has been implemented using 0.11um CMOS technology and evaluated by
multiplier with power gating structure.
O-ring Size Measurement Based on a Small Machine Vision Inspection Equipment

In this paper, O-ring size measurement algorithm based on a small machine vision inspection equipment which can replace a expensive and large machine vision inspection equipment is presented. The small machine vision inspection equipment acquires a image from a CCD camera shooting a measurement plane which located on a back light and the proposed size measurement algorithm is apply to the image. For improvement of size measurement accuracy, camera lens distortion correction and perspective distortion correction are conducted by software technique. Consider O-ring's shape, ellipse fitting model is applied. In order to increase the reliability of ellipse fitting, RANSAC algorithm is applied.
Application of Euclidean Distance Similarity for Smartphone-Based Moving Context Determination

Moving context determination is an important issue to be resolved in a mobile computing environment. This paper presents a method for recognizing and classifying a mobile user's moving context by Euclidean distance similarity. In the proposed method, basic data are gathered using Global Positioning System (GPS) and accelerometer sensors, and by using the data, the system decides which moving situation the user is in. The decided situation is one of the four categories: stop, walking, run, and moved by a car. In order to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed scheme, we have implemented applications using several variations of Euclidean distance similarity on the Android system, and measured the accuracies. Experimental results show that the proposed system achieves more than 90% accuracy.
Downtime tracking for small-medium sized manufacturing company using shop floor monitoring

To improve the productivity of manufacturing company, the analysis of loss in shop floor has to be conducted and validated. This paper introduces the downtime tracking module using the pre-developed shop floor information acquisition system. To collect the downtime, it utilized shop floor monitoring information, user-registered downtime event, equipment diagnosis algorithm and operator's input. Also, it provided the user interface for the analysis of downtime. From the results of a pilot study, the usability of developed system was validated.
The Effect of Airline Service Encounter Quality on Customer Loyalty

The service quality customers perceived has positive relationships with trust, image, and satisfaction toward airline companies. Providing personal and non-personal services could be factors that build up not only overall impressions but positive and negative emotions and could be connected to customer behavioral intention. Thus, this research divided service encounter quality into personal and non-personal encounter quality and investigated effects of two types of service encounter quality on airline image, perceived value and customer loyalty. The result shows that personal service encounter quality has a positive effect on airline image and a negative effect on perceived value. Non-personal service encounter quality has an influence on airline image and a negative influence on perceived value. Personal service encounter quality does not have a significant effect on customer loyalty but non-personal service encounter quality has an effect on customer loyalty. Airline image does not affect perceived vlaue significantly however, do affect customer loyalty. Finally, perceived value does not have a significant effect on customer loyalty.
Analysis of regionally centralized and decentralized multistage reverse logistics networks using genetic algorithm

This paper proposes regionally centralized multistage reverse logistics (cmRL) networks and regionally decentralized multistage reverse logistics (dmRL) networks. cmRL considers whole area of RL network, while dmRL regionally distributed area of RL network. Each type is formulated by the mixed integer programming (MIP) models, which are realized in genetic algorithm (GA) approach. Two types of numerical experiments using RL network are presented and various measures of performance are used for comparing the efficiency of the cmRL and the dmRL. Finally, it is proved that the performance of the cmRL is superior to that of the dmRL.
Comparison and Analysis of Web Accessibility for the Korea, USA, and Japan's Broadcast Web Sites

Acquisition of information through the broadcast media is essential for modern life and each broadcaster has progressed its service over the internet with the development of digital technology. Under this circumstance, this study presented the results which compared and analyzed the web accessibility evaluation for Korea, USA, and Japan's leading broadcaster web sites. According to the study results, there was no significant difference in the level of accessibility in all web sites of three countries, but accessibility compliance rate such as alternate text, skip-navigation of repeated region, and title was somewhat insufficient for Korean web sites. In addition, accessibility errors in the brightness contrast of the text contents, the run of the functions that a user doesn't have any intention, the clear statement of the default language, and the label provision were investigated. Therefore, Korean broadcasters should urgently improve and modify these errors and problems for effective web accessibility.
The Perceived Information Quality in Accounting Information System: Effects on Trust and Risk

This study discusses the results of an empirical study carried out to illustrate the key issues that need to be addressed to ensure accounting information quality (AIQ). The study also focuses on the factors of trust and risk as they impact the intention to use accounting information from accounting information systems(AIS). The factors that might impact on accounting information quality have been summarized from the existing literature on previous studies in this area. This study proposes a research model for key issues that have an impact on accounting information quality based on the literature. I use the empirical results of this study to discuss the key components of the research model.
A Study on Comparison Analysis of the Design Factors between Korea and China Shopping mall Websites

This paper mainly focuses on the design factors of a website targeted at shopping mall websites in China and Korea. We formulated 15 different hypotheses regarding how those design factors are different. The targeted websites are "Gmarket" in Korea and "Taobao" in China. The selected design factors of a shopping mall website are (1) color and design, (2) photo, graphic, and font size, (3) the clarity of information delivery, (4) website structure, (5) screen balance, (6) product display, (7) product harmony, (8) a form of font and icon, (9) visual atmosphere, (10) differentiated color, (11) interesting words, (12) technical skills, (13) entire visual design and atmosphere, (14) navigation, (15) search function for products or information. As a result of analyzing the result using the SAS 9.2 package tool, we figured out that there was a difference between design factors. Additionally, we analyzed this difference and suggested a strategy to design the effective shopping mall web sites.
