A Study on a Bidirectional Random Walk Model for Distance Based Mobility Managements

Distance based mobility management schemes have been considered as a major issue in the wireless network research area. Accordingly, many efforts have been made to analyze them numerically with suitable mobility models. In particular, bidirectional random walk model has been employed frequently due to its simplicity. Nevertheless, the exact equations are not presented so far. In this paper, we provide the exact equations regarding the bidirectional random walk model, which is very useful for the analysis of the distance based mobility management schemes.
Implementation of Game Interface using Human Head Motion Recognition

Recently, various contents using human motion are developed in computer vision and game industries. If we try to apply human motion to application programs and contents, users can experience a sense of immersion getting into it so that the users feel a high level of satisfaction from the contents. In this research, we analyze human head motion using images captured from an webcam and then we apply the result of motion recognition to a game without special devices as an interface. The proposed method, first, segments human head region using an image composed of MHI(Motion History Image) and the result of skin color detection, and then we calculate the direction and distance by the MHI sequence. In experiments, the proposed method for human head motion recognition was tested for controlling a game player. From the experimental results we proved that the proposed method can make a gammer feel more immersed into the game. Furthermore, we expect the proposed method can be an interface of a serious game for medical or rehabilitation purposes.
A Study on Development of Robot for Mutual Communication and Education of Students with Health Impairments

In 2005, there was a partial revision of the Act on the Promotion of Education for the Handicapped people, so that students with health impairments would be able to receive special education support. Since the amendment of the bill, to support them classified into weak people in education, education support systems have been proposed and settled so that they may receive the support for free. According to the pre-study, after the amendment of this bill, there has been many studies on the form of educational service to support them, and recently, there have been a lot of researches to investigate their satisfaction with the current services and draw its problems. And yet these studies have been carried out by the preceeding researchers at the drawing of problems, but have a limitation to present fundamental countermeasures to the problems. Therefore, this study attempted to understand the meaning of health impairment through the pre-study and investigate the forms of the services currently supporting them and analyze the problem of each service. In addition, to solve the identified problems, a new support system was proposed. In order to confirm the performance of the system, we design the user satisfaction survey composed of a Likert 5-point scale per each question, and to make the task, comparing stories and clapping for increasing quality of their subjective evaluation about the image and voice transmission when the user uses it. As a result, in the overall evaluation of the robot system, the average score of each question was recorded to 4.31 points, and through the two tasks, it was found that there were effective data transmission of image and voice.
Analysis of Bioimpedance Change and the Characteristics of Blood Pressure according to Posture

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis(BIA) is a widely used method for estimating body composition changes which is a non-invasive, inexpensive, safety and reproductive method. We studied the bioimpedance change and the distinction of blood pressure according to body posture and conducted three kinds of experiments: the real-time bioimpedance measurement, the simulation using equivalent circuit model and the blood pressure measurement. Bioimpedance is measured during 4 minutes at the multi-frequency(1 kHz, 10 kHz, 20 kHz, 50 kHz, 70 kHz, 100 kHz). From the experiment results, the changes in body postures result in changes of resistance and reactance, with an average rapid increase of body impedance when going from standing, sitting to supine. Specially, the laying resistance on average was 16.49% higher than supine resistance at 50 kHz and the laying reactance measurement was also 26.05% higher than sitting reactance at 1 kHz. Blood pressure in standing posture was higher than those in other postures both in maximum(
) and in minimum(
). The results of BIA and blood pressure in this study will be contributed to the research on acute illness, extreme fat, and body shape abnormalities.
Unattended Reception Robot using Face Identification

As personal information is utilized as an important user authentication means, a trustable certification means is being required. The face identification technology using characteristics of the personal face among several biometrics technologies is easy in extracting features. In this paper, we implement a face identification robot for unattended reception. The robot is performed by face identification. To assess the effectiveness of the robot, it was tested and experimental results show that the proposed method is applicable for unattended reception interface.
A Comparative Study on Acceptance of Social Network Games between Korean and Chinese Users

Today people use a smartphone as a tool for enjoying personal hobbies or entertaining contents as well as communication media. Most of the traditional game-specific platforms have transferred to smartphones equipped with social network games that integrate games with human relationships. As average life span of most games has been shortened gradually, game companies should be ready to develop new games to meet user needs. In this study we investigate the acceptance of social games, enjoyable by users and their friends linked in social networks. Since user behavior of social games may show cultural differences by country, we perform a comparative study on acceptance of social games between Korean and Chinese users. The structural relationships among factors affecting social game adoption have been analyzed focusing on differences between Korean and Chinese. We analyze similarities and differences of adoption mechanism in two countries and present some practical implications for related industry.
A Study and improved Approach of Text Steganography

In the digital world of the internet, steganography is introduced to hide the existence of the secret communication by concealing a secret message inside another unsuspicious cover medium. The third parties are unaware that a stego medium is being communicated. There exists a large variety of steganography methods based on texts. In this paper, analyzed the advantages and significant disadvantages of each existing text steganography method and how new approach could be proposed as a solution. The objective of this paper is to propose a method for hiding the secret messages in safer manner from external attacks by encryption rearrangement key.
Comparative Analysis of the Performance of Robot Sensors in the MSRDS Platform

MSRDS(Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio), the robot simulation platform provides the simulation robots and environments enabling to the basic robot programming without hardware robots. In this paper, we carry the maze escaping problems to compare and analyze the performance of LRF, bumper, IR, and sonar sensor with the same condition on MSRDS(Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio) environment. To evaluate the performance of sensors, we program the simulation environments with same conditions for all sensors. We could find that the LRF sensor had the highest performance and the bumper sensor has the lowest performance on the travel time, the number of turning, and the number of collisions. It was also confirmed that IR sensor and sonar sensor had lower performance than LRF sensor on the number of turning.
The Collision Prevention System between Vehicles based on Fuzzy on a urban environment

This paper proposes the Collision Prevention System based on Fuzzy which reasons a risk with the location information of vehicles and pedestrians and prevents collision between vehicles, and between a vehicle and a pedestrian with the reasoned risk. The proposed system provides three functions. First, it identifies a pedestrian's location with his smart phone and a vehicle's location with the GPS equipped in the vehicle. and transfers the identified information to their neighbors. Second, it makes a vehicle and a pedestrian reason a risk by considering a moving direction, a moving speed and road information. Third, it provides a vehicle and a pedestrian with the reasoned information such as route detour, speed reduction, etc. Therefore, the proposed collision prevention system based on Fuzzy not only prevents collision accidents beforehand by reasoning a risk, but also reduces a variety of losses by protecting traffic accident and congestion.
Study on Reducing Logistics Costs and Inventory Control System according to facilities integration in the Closed-Loop Supply Chain Environment

It is an element certainly required for the cost reduction of a company that forward and reverse logistics chain are unified and constitutes a resource closed-loop supply chain (CLSC). In this study, the inventory control which unifies inventory of distribution centers (DCs) of forward logistics and processing center of reverse logistics in the CLSC environment is proposed. The inventory system model for newly-constructed CLSC considers the JIT(Just-In-Time) delivery from the processing center to the manufacturer, including the making of decisions on whether to wait for the arrival of end-of-life products or to back-order necessary products for manufacturer when the supply of end-of-life products at the processing center via the returning center is insufficient for the demands of the manufacturers. The validity of the proposed model was verified using the genetic algorithm (GA). In order that a parameter might investigate the effect which it has on a solution, the simulation was carried out for priGA(priority-based GA) on three kinds of parameter conditions. Moreover, mhGA(modified hybrid GA) to which a parameter is adjusted for every Study on Reducing Logistics Costs and Inventory Control System according to facilities integration in the Closed-Loop Supply Chain Environment generation, the simulation was carried out to a four-kind numerical example.
The Effects of Corporate Environmental Responsibility Activities on Corporate Image: Focusing on Dimension of Environmental Responsibility

Different from the past studies, in this study we postulates that the consumers' trust play an essential mediating role in the relationship between the two dimensions (eco-friendly manufacturing, eco-friendly campaign) of corporate environmental responsibility activities and the corporate image. Trust is conceptualized into three different forms: expertise-based trust, benevolence-based trust, and honesty-based trust. A model integrating two dimensions of corporate environmental responsibility, three forms of trust, and the corporate image is tested using data of 374 student and general consumers. The results of data analysis show that the eco-friendly manufacturing positively influences on the expert-based trust and the eco-friendly campaign positively influences on the benevolence-based trust. The Effects of Corporate Environmental Responsibility Activities on Corporate Image: Focusing on Dimension of Environmental Responsibility. However, eco-friendly manufacturing, eco-friendly campaign activities have a significant impact not on the honesty-based trust. Finally, our results indicate that the expert-based trust, the benevolence-based trust, and honesty-based trust have a significant influence on the corporate image. Thus, this study demonstrates that trust indeed plays a mediating role between corporate environmental responsibility and the corporate image.
A Study On BI Module Implementation Based Hybrid App For Smart Mobile Office

Mobile-Office is the IT office that enables people handle their business anywhere and anytime without going to head office. It has propagated rapidly in domestic and foreign companies as the users who use mobile terminal such as smartphone have increased sharply. Mobile-Office is emerging as a new way of conducting business. It requires business environment to be changed to improve business efficiency, as fast-growing mobile-based economies emerges. Small and medium-sized companies's utilization ability for advanced IT technology is insufficient, and limitations exist on capacity of building and investment. They need different development methodologies and utilization methods. The purpose of this study is not only to consider the previous business environment problem on accessibility, mobility, effectiveness, complexity and consolidation, but to search more efficient methods for introducing applications to utilize various smart devices and websites with minimum investment in R&D.
Research on Cloud Computing-Based SME Informatization Platform Policy

In this paper, we proposed the necessary government policies for the SME's informatization as the computing environment evolves towards cloud computing. We started with the review of the current SME's computing environment and limitations of current policies, and then addressed the new roles, visions, and missions of the government for the SME informatization. Based upon these arguments, we proposed the mid-term vision and designed the architecture for the cloud computing-based services for SMEs. The major contribution of this paper is to extend the enterprise-based informatization strategies to the context of the government policies so that the government can adopt our arguments as guidelines for the future policies.
