Multiple-Relay-Assisted Spectral Efficient OFDMA Transmission System with Simple Channel Cyclicity Restoration

In this paper, we propose a spectral efficient orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA) transmission system using multiple relays for a shadow area. The performance of the proposed OFDMA system in a shadow area can be improved by applying space-frequency(SF) block code over relaying multi-path channels. A simple channel cyclicity restoration method is also added in the proposed OFDMA system without cyclic prefix(CP) to recover the destruction of channel cyclicity due to the lack of CP. Simulation results show that the proposed OFDMA system without CP is almost same as that of the conventional OFDMA system with sufficient CP, which increases the spectral efficiency of the system.
Design and Implementation of Slotmachine Accounting Protocols (SAS-G2S) Converter

This paper describes design and implementation experience of SAS-G2S slotmachine accounting protocol middleware system that converts the legacy binary format SAS (Slot Accounting System) protocol with servers with recent standards G2S protocol. The paper examines the difference of two protocols such as link control, message format, and parameters. The converter architecture uses bridge and connector patterns and implemented in C++ and Python mixed language on Linux environment. The prototype system uses a 1GMHz-512MB linux machine and has passed Korean official protocol compatibility and performance test in 2015.
Diagnosis and Improvement of mode transition delay in Linux 9bit serial communications

We analyze the problem that is occurring when using parity mode transformation required for 9 bit serial communication under Linux environment and propose the solution. The parity mode change is used for 9 bit serial communication in the Linux that by nature supports only 8 bit serial communication. delay (around OS tick) arises. Our analysis shows that the cause is minimum length of waiting time to transmit data remained in Tx FIFO buffers. A modified Linux serial driver proposed in this paper decreases the delay less than 1ms by using accurate time delaying. Despite various system communication interfaces, enormous existing standards and system have adopted RS-232 serial communication, and the part of them have communicated by 9bit serial.
A dual-loop boost-converter LED driver IC with temperature compensation

This paper presents an LED backlight driver IC consisting of three linear current regulators and an output-voltage regulation loop with a self-adjustable reference voltage. In the proposed LED driver, the output voltage is controlled by dual feedback loops. The first loop senses and controls the output voltage, and the second loop senses the voltage drop of the linear current regulator and adjusts the reference voltage. With these feedback loops, the voltage drop of the linear current regulator is maintained at a minimum value, at which the driver efficiency is maximized. The output of the driver is a three-channel LED setup with four LEDs in each channel. The luminance is adjusted by the PWM dimming signal. The proposed driver is designed by a
60-V high-voltage process, resulting in an experimental maximum efficiency of approximately 85%.
Electrocardiographic characteristics of significant factors of detected atrial fibrillation using WEMS

The wireless electrocardiographic monitoring system(WDMS) is designed to be long term monitoring for the early detection of cardiac disorders. The current version of the WDMS can identify two types of cardiac rhythms in real-time, such as atrial fibrillation(AF) and normal sinus rhythm(NSR), which are very important to track cardiac-rhythm disorders. In this study, we proposed the analysis method to discriminate the characteristics statistically evaluated in both time and frequency domains between AF and NSR using various parameters in the heart rate variability(HRV). And we applied various ECG detection methods (e.g., difference operation method) and compared the results with those of the discrete wavelet transform(DWT) method. From the statistically results, we found that the parameters such as STD RR, STD HR, RMSSD, NN50, pNN50, RR Trian, and TNN(p<0.05) are significantly different between the AF and NSR patients in time domain. On the other hand, the frequency domain analysis results showed a significant difference in VLF power(
), LF power(
), HF power(
), VLF(%), LF(%), and HF(%). In particular, the parameters such as STD RR, RMSSD, NN50, pNN50, VLF power, LF power and HF power were considered as the most useful parameters in both AF and NSR patient groups. Our proposed method can be efficiently applied to early detection of abnormal conditions and prevent the such abnormals from becoming serious.
Performance enhancement of launch vehicle tracking using GPS-based multiple radar bias estimation and sensor fusion

In the multi-sensor system, sensor registration errors such as a sensor bias must be corrected so that the individual sensor data are expressed in a common reference frame. If registration process is not properly executed, large tracking errors or formation of multiple track on the same target can be occured. Especially for launch vehicle tracking system, each multiple observation lies on the same reference frame and then fused trajectory can be the best track for slaving data. Hence, this paper describes an on-line bias estimation/correction and asynchronous sensor fusion for launch vehicle tracking. The bias estimation architecture is designed based on pseudo bias measurement which derived from error observation between GPS and radar measurements. Then, asynchronous sensor fusion is adapted to enhance tracking performance.
Hybrid Approach for Solving Manufacturing Optimization Problems

Manufacturing optimization problem is to find the optimal solution under satisfying various and complicated constraints with the design variables of nonlinear types. To achieve the objective, this paper proposes a hybrid approach. The proposed hybrid approach is consist of genetic algorithm(GA), cuckoo search(CS) and hill climbing method(HCM). First, the GA is used for global search. Secondly, the CS is adapted to overcome the weakness of GA search. Lastly, the HCM is applied to search precisely the convergence space after the GA and CS search. In experimental comparison, various types of manufacturing optimization problems are used for comparing the efficiency between the proposed hybrid approach and other conventional competing approaches using various measures of performance. The experimental result shows that the proposed hybrid approach outperforms the other conventional competing approaches.
A Study on the Survival Rate and Factors of FDI to Korea: Focused on ICT Industry

The objective of this paper is to analyze survival rate and factors of FDI(Foreign direct investment) using FDI data of Ministry of Knowledge and Economy. Kaplan-Meier estimation was used. The result was as follows. M&A of FDI was much more risk than Greenfield FDI. .FDI to the IT-service industry was much more risk than FDI to the manufacturing industry. Partnership under 50% was much more risk than partnership over 50%. The accumulated survival rate of M&A was higher then Greenfield until fourth period but was lower than Greenfield after fourth period. The accumulated survival rate of M&A was lower than others from the first period to last period. There was no difference between Partnership under 50% and partnership over 50% to 4th period. After 4th period, Accumulated survival rate of partnership under 50% was higher than accumulated survival partnership over 50%.
A Longitudinal Study on e-Service Quality Dimension to Each Period of Korea Wave for Rediffusion in Southeast Asia using QFD

Since the late 1990s, the Korea wave has been very big issue among Asian nations. It has been increased in some regions including Russia, East Europe, South America but it has been decreased in some regions including Southeast Asia, Japan and China. The stream of Korea wave has been changed until now. We need a study considering on the time period of Korea wave. So this paper shows several implications from some changes by each time period of Korea wave for Southeast Asia cultural regions. In order to achieve objectives of the paper, we collected and classified 2511 requirements from bulletin board systems and e-mails. It shows how to improve e-service quality and to enhance nation brand utilizing types of requirements of Southeast Asia cultural regions and by the time period of Korea wave using QFD methodology. These implications are applied to design a tourism website for Southeast Asia cultural region.
Effects of HRM Practices and LMX on Turnover Intention of SMEs employees : Focusing on the Mediating Effects of Job Satisfaction

This study is the result of an empirical research that may contribute to the management on employee turnover of SMEs by looking over factors affecting the intention of employee turnover. Welfare satisfaction, recognition, empowerment, organizational flexibility and LMX expertise respect, higher contribution showed a positive effect on job satisfaction. Welfare satisfaction, empowerment, leader of the professional respect showed negative effect on turnover intention. Job satisfaction partially mediated welfare satisfaction, professional respect and completely mediated empowerment. The results implies that job satisfaction needs to be also considered when HRM practice and LMX are examined for reducing employee turnover.
