A Study on the Characteristics of the Vertical PNP transistor that improves the starting current

In this paper, we introduce the characteristics of a vertical PNP transistor that improves start current by decreasing quiescent current with suppressing the parasitic transistor. In order to suppress the parasitic effect, we designed a vertical PNP transistor which suppresses parasitic PNP transistor by using the "DN+ links" without changing the circuit and made a LDO regulator using a standard IC processor. HFE of the fabricated parasitic PNP transistor decreased from conventional 18 to 0.9. Starting current of the LDO regulator made of the vertical PNP transistor using the improved "DN+ linked" structure is reduced from the conventional starting current of 90mA to 32mA. As the result, we developed a LDO regulator which consumes lower power in the standby state.
Wave information retrieval algorithm based on iterative refinement

Ocean wave parameters are important for safety and efficiency of operation and routing of marine traffic. In this paper, by using X-band marine radar, we try to develop an effective algorithm for collecting ocean surface information such as current velocity, wave parameters. Specifically, by exploiting iterative refinement flow instead of using fixed control schemes, an effective algorithm is designed in such a way that it can not only compute efficiently the optimized current velocity but also introduce new cost function in an optimized way. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is very effective in retrieving the wave information compared to the conventional algorithms.
Asynchronous Circuit Design Combined with Power Switch Structure

This paper proposes an ultra-low power design methodology for asynchronous circuits which combines with power switch structure used for reducing leakage current in the synchronous circuits. Compared to existing delay-insensitive asynchronous circuits such as static NCL and semi-static NCL, the proposed methodology provides the leakage power reduction in the NULL mode due to the high Vth of the power switches and the switching power reduction at the switching moment due to the smaller area even though it has a reasonable speed penalty. Therefore, it will become a low power design methodology required for IoT system design placing more value on power than speed. In this paper, the proposed methodology has been evaluated by a
multiplier designed using 0.11 um CMOS technology, and the simulation results have been compared to the conventional asynchronous circuits in terms of circuit delay, area, switching power and leakage power.
Recognition method of multiple objects for virtual touch using depth information

In this paper, we propose how to recognize a multi-touch in the virtual touch type. Virtual touch has an advantage that it is installed only simple depth camera compared to the physical touch manners and it can be implemented with low cost for extracting an object exactly from only the difference of the depth values between the object and background. However, the accuracy for implementing the multi-touch has lowered. This paper presents a method to increase the accuracy of the multi-touch through the algorithms of binarization, labelling, and object tracking for multi-object recognition. Simulation results show that the proposed method can provide a variety of multi-touch events.
Video event control system by recognition of depth touch

Various events of stop, playback, capture, and zoom-in/out in playing video is available in the monitor of a small size such as smart phones. However, if the size of the display increases, then the cost of the touch recognition is increased, thus provision of a touch event is not possible in practice. In this paper, we propose a video event control system that recognizes a touch inexpensively from the depth information, then provides the variety of events of the toggle, the pinch-in / out by the single or multi-touch. The proposed method finds a touch location and the touch path by the depth information from a depth camera, and determines the touch gesture type. This touch interface algorithm is implemented in a small single-board system, and can control the video event by sending the gesture information through the UART communication. Simulation results show that the proposed depth touch method can control the various events in a large screen.
A SAW-less GPS RX Front-end using an Automatic LC Calibrator

In this paper, new automatic LC calibrator is proposed for realizing a passive LC filter with almost constant frequency characteristic regardless of the PVT variations. The SAW-less GPS RX front-end is implemented using a 65nm CMOS process using the proposed LC calibrator. Also, new dual-mode low noise amplifier (LNA) structure is proposed to generate the RF signal required for the LC calibrator. The characteristics of the implemented GPS RX front-end show the voltage gain of about 42.5 dB, noise figure of below 1.35 dB, the blocker input P1dB of -24 dBm in case of the worst blocker signal at 1710 MHz frequency, while it consumes 7 mA current at 1.2 V power supply voltage.

The progression of broadcasting technology changed the previous analogue broadcasting system into digital, which in result allowed several broadcasting programs to be transmitted as one stream by multiplexing. This multi channel environment interferes with audience to choose the program they want. EPG acts as supporter in this multi channel environment. The existing EPG system is limited in providing searching function with title, genre, date and Wish-list in multi-media environment. Thus, this thesis proposes new type EPG using PSIP information modification to respond with the change of broadcasting market. This type of EPG can be applied to several kinds of broadcasting systems.
A New PMU (parametric measurement unit) Design with Differential Difference Amplifier

This paper describes a new PMU(parametric measurement unit) design technique for automatic test equipment(ATE). Only one DDA(differential difference amplifier) is used to force the test signals to DUT(device under test), while conventional design uses two or more amplifiers to force test signals. Since the proposed technique does not need extra amplifiers in feedback path, the proposed PMU inherently guarantees stable operation. Moreover, to measure the response signals from DUT, proposed technique also adopted only one DDA amplifier as an IA(instrument amplifier), while conventional IA uses 3 amplifiers and several resistors. The DDA adopted two rail-to-rail differential input stages to handle full-range differential signals. Gain enhancement technique is used in folded-cascode type DDA to get open loop gain of 100 dB. Proposed PMU design enables accurate and stable operation with smaller hardware and lower power consumption. This PMU is implemented with 0.18 um CMOS process and supply voltage is 1.8 V. Input ranges for each force mode are 0.25~1.55 V at voltage force and 0.9~0.935 V at current force mode.
Analysis of the workforce challenges of medical device manufacturers

This study has been carried out to provide data for the workforce by analyzing personnel status of medical device manufacturers, level of difficulty in securing human resource, reason for difficulty in securing human resource, resignation rate, and recruitment methods. Results, medical device manufacturers are required overseas sales personnel responsible for international certification and exported, regardless of the production item. And the company is located in the metropolitan area did not facilitate a secure workforce. Medical device manufacturers have difficulties in securing personnel, regardless of the employees and sales. In particular, Class 3 production company was more difficult. The reason that it is difficult to secure the human resources is attributable to the poor working conditions of the private companies and there is a few possible employees equipped with the job competency demanded by corporate entities. With respect to the analysis on the retirement rate, the larger the company scale and the more the employee number, more difficulty is experienced in the human resource management. Therefore, for any medical device manufacturers with large organization scale, it would be critical to introduce appropriate human resource management program.
An empirical study on the influence of management consulting factors on corporate culture and business performance

This paper is intended for small businesses, and small-scale empirical analysis of the peripheral region has a research model of the relationship between consulting factors that are studied in various aspects of the existing and business performance. In other words, a model that is presented in the study with reference to the existing verification as to whether any association exists between management consulting factors and business performance targets in wonju region auto parts production enterprises. Consulting factors were modeled separately by the consumer and supplier factors as business performance and financial performance were divided into non-financial performance, we designed the model parameters as set by the corporate culture. Research consulting consumer factors and supplier factors business performance (financial and non-financial) showed that having a significant impact on corporate culture, set as a parameter also having a positive effect on business performance It showed that.
