Performance evaluation of quality management activity using activity based costing

Though Quality Management(QM) is key determinant for corporate success as shown in Jappanese cases, however, its performance wasn't translated into the context of profitability, which is a good managerial means. Meanwhile the quality cost theory is a different attempt to measure the quality management performance with a financial scale, which doesnot have a reasonable measure. This study suggests a new approach to measure the performance of quality management using ABC(Activity-based Costing), and explains its usefulness with a case study.
Precision Quality Assurance of the Multiple Dynamic Systems in Iterative Loaming and Repetitive Control with System and Disturbance Identification

It is presented to extended to an interaction matrix formulation to the problem of system and disturbance identification for a plant that is corrupted by both process and output disturbances. With only an assumed upper bound on the order of the system and an assumed upper bound on the number of disturbance frequencies, it is shown that both the disturbance-free model and disturbance effect can be recovered exactly from disturbance-corrupted input-output data without direct measurement of the periodic disturbances. The rich information returned by the identification can be used by an iterative learning or repetitive control system to eliminate unwanted periodic disturbances. Those can be helped to apply to the multiple dynamic systems for precision quality assurance.
Developing Web-based Mail System with Multi-domain Facility

A web based mail system consists of servers and clients. A server side takes charge of making rail accounts and service, a client side does interfacing with users. In this paper, we designed the mail system with multi-domain facility. Also we implemented both a ussr environment based on the internet explorer and management environment based on the windows server 2000. Using the service engine of rail system, we could provide the user efficiency through responding user absence, automatic mail sorting, verifying receipt and refusing messages, and implemented the rail system which provides the reliable system.
A Development of Reusing Module of XML Data for the Satellite Images Management System

The objective of this research is to develop a new module which can reuse XML data by modifying the property of satellite images through the client's GUI at remote site. In order to implement this functionality, we used DOM interface which increases the efficiency of accessing the document structure, and loaded the developed GUI that could resort, retrieve and manage the satellite image list as converted XML data. The system was applied to the management system of satellite images in the Research Institute of SFC at Keio University which results in the confirmation of the technical functionalities.
A Study of Safety Design of Sound Absorbing Structure and Development of Materials To Reduce living Noise

There m many noise sources in living environment. Especially, noise that happen in apartment or tenement house may make neighborhood serious troubles. Thus, the development of new materials to reduce and improve the living noises is required. During past decade, various methodologies have been developed and researched to reduce and improve the living noises. However, there are many problems to apply these methodologies to practical our environment. In this thesis, we develop the new artificial material supporting high porous materials and lower pressure density to improve the problem caused in the safety design and sound absorbing material. To prove the efficiency of the developed methodology, we compare our methodology with conventional methodologies and also suggest an alternative methodology to contribute quiet life environments.
Bayesian Multiple Comparison of Normal Populations based on Bayes Factor

In this paper, we develop the Bayesian multiple comparison procedure for the normal model. The procedure which we suggest is based on the fractional Bayes factor of O'Hagan (1995). We apply our procedure to normal populations, when noninformative prior is assumed to the model parameters. We derive explicit form of Bayes Factors when the number of populations is greater than 3. A famous data is analyzed by the proposed procedure. For this example, the suggested method is straightforward for specifying distributionally and to implement computationally, with output readily adapted for required comparison.
A-Modified Thinning Algorithm using the 4-Neighbors Connection Value for the Character Recognition

This paper is the study about the improvement of the WPTA4 algorithm available for the recognition of various characters. The WPTA4 algorithm can extract the skeleton of a character almost similar to the original pattern by using the connection value representing connectivity of each pixel. In this paper we show that the skeleton disappearance phenomena existing in the WPTA4 and propose an modified algorithm which can eliminate this phenomena. The proposed algorithm shows that the skeleton disappearance phenomena is eliminated and the quality of extracted skeleton is excellent.

When we estimate the optimal solution satisfy the objective function and subjective equation in the integer programming, The optimal solution of the objective function Z is decided by the positive integer at extreme point or revised extreme point in the convex set. The convex set is made up the linear subjective equation. The purpose of the paper is thus to establish a stepwise optimization in the integer programming model by estimating the variation △C/sub j/ of the constant term C/sub j/ in the linear objective function, after an application of the modified Branch & Bound method.
Cost Models for Warranty and Preventive Maintenance

Warranty cost analysis for one-dimensional warranties assumes that the usage intensity (or rate) is the same for all buyers. In real life the usage intensity varies across the population of buyers. Also for products sold with warranty, preventive maintenance actions by manufacturers and buyers have a significant impact on the total costs for both parties. In this paper we deals with models to study the expected warranty cost for products with free repairable warranty with varying usage intensity and three types of preventive maintenance. We also review the literature which links warranty and maintenance and develops a framework to define new topics for research in the future and examines a new model formulation. It then develops a new model and carries out its analysis.
Some Asymptotic Stability Theorems in the perturbed Linear Differential System

We investigate sorry: asymptotic stabilities of the zero solution for the perturbed linear differential system dx/dt=A(t)x+e(t, x)+f(t,x), by using Perron's method and integral inequalities, etc. and we also find some sufficient conditions that ensure some asymptotic stabilities of the zero solution of the system And hence we obtain several results of it.
An Extraction Method of Each Thematic Map from the Raster Image Including Thematic Maps for the GIS Applications

This paper proposes an extraction method which extracts two different thematic maps, which have different line thickness from each other in a raster image that contains the two thematic maps. In the proposed method, the depth of each pixel is calculated according to the amount of pixels in its surrounding neighborhood, and then the thinning is performed. By using depth threshold, two thematic maps are first extracted from the thinning result. There are noise images and skeleton disconnection in the lines of each extracted thematic map. Each thematic map extraction is finally completed after removing the noise images and connecting the disconnected lines. Through the experiment, we showed that the proposed method could be used for the extraction of each thematic map of a raster image which included two thematic maps.
