A Network Architecture Design for Autoconfiguration of Optical Internet Network Node

As optical internet network uses WDM links and provides connection-oriented services, the routing and signaling protocols of Internet should be modified to accomodate optical internet network. This paper provides the routing and signaling protocols proper to optical internet network and designs a network architecture that can support autoconfiguration of optical internet network.
A unified rough and finish cut algorithm for NC machining of free form pockets with general polygon - Part 1. Simulation

The tool path needs to be determined in an efficient manner to generate the final NC (numerical control) code for efficient machining. This is particularly important in machining free form pockets with an arbitrary wall geometry on a three-axis CNC machine. Many CAD/CAM systems use linear interpolation to generate NC tool paths for curved surfaces. However, this needs to be modified to improve the smoothness of the machined bottom surface, reduce machining time and CL (cutter location) file size. Curved machining can be a solution to reduce these problems. The unified rough and finish cut algerian and the tool motion is graphically simulated. In this paper, a grid based 3D navigation algorithm for generating NC tool path data for both linear interpolation and a combination of linear and circular interpolation for three-axis CNC milling of general pockets with sculptured bottom surfaces is developed.
Corpus-Based Ontology Learning for Semantic Analysis

This paper proposes to determine word senses in Korean language processing by corpus-based ontology learning. Our approach is a hybrid method. First, we apply the previously-secured dictionary information to select the correct senses of some ambiguous words with high precision, and then use the ontology to disambiguate the remaining ambiguous words. The mutual information between concepts in the ontology was calculated before using the ontology as knowledge for disambiguating word senses. If mutual information is regarded as a weight between ontology concepts, the ontology can be treated as a graph with weighted edges, and then we locate the least weighted path from one concept to the other concept. In our practical machine translation system, our word sense disambiguation method achieved a 9％ improvement over methods which do not use ontology for Korean translation.
Study on Simple Repetitive Work and the Risks of Musculoskeletal Injuries

According to the results of this study, we found through preliminary research that most of the workers studied suffered from some sort of musculoskeletal injury, but did not obtain hospital treatment, which shows that although their work was the source of injury, they did not realize the significance of their injury. In addition, there were some subjects that did not even know what musculoskeletal injuries were and in order to solve such problems, companies need to educate their workers about musculoskeletal injuries and show the significance of the injuries. Also, there was a difference in rates of musculoskeletal injuries in different occupations, with higher rates of injury in esthetics, driving and packaging positions. This calls for the use of automated machinery and alteration of the working environment to make it more ergonomic according to the recommended improvement plan, and continuous effort and support on the part of the company in order to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.
Extended Query Search Performance Evaluations for Vector Model and Probabilistic Model of Information System

In this paper, we compare the vector model performance with the probabilistic model of information system. We use LSI(Latent Semantic Indexing) model for vector model, while Condor information search system that is ready to sell on business is used as a probabilistic model. Each model produces the search results from the original queries and the queries extended by a dictionary definition. We compare those results between two models and find out the vector model is much better than the probabilistic model for the most queries.
Design of LFSR Multipliers for Public-key Cryptosystem

This paper presents new architectures based on the linear feedback shia resister architecture over GF(2m). First we design a modular multiplier and a modular squarer, then propose an architecture by combing the multiplier and the squarer. All architectures use an irreducible AOP (All One Polynomial) as a modulus, which has the properties of all coefficients with '1'. The proposed architectures have lower hardware complexity than previous architectures. They could be. Therefore it is useful for implementing the exponentiation architecture, which is the con operation in public-key cryptosystems.
Efficient Cyber Lecture System using SCC

E-Learning standard SCORM has been prepared in the United States to establish the efficient operation and development of e-Learning. The learning object of the current SCORM focuses on easy development and reusability in the professor's side. In this study instead, we present a SCC (Sharable Content Collection) scheme which can provide various studying opportunities to the learners. Constructing an efficient SCC requires improving the SCO (Sharable Content Object), a key ingredient of SCORM, and analyzing the cyber lecture into components. In this way we suggest a method to improve the existing learning objects and present an e-Learning model based on SCC.
Variation of reaction time and accuracy of mental work with strength of whole-body activity gradually increasing

This paper examined the change in reaction time and accuracy of mental work by physical activity. A treadmill-equipped instrument is used to attain several levels of physical activity. Subjects were recruited from college students and football players; and they were instructed to run on a treadmill at different speeds. In order to determine the individual levels of physical activity of subjects, in this paper, Borg's-RPE scales which indicates subjective levels of physical activity were obtained. And reaction time was evaluated before and after running by arithmetic calculation test Restricted within the limit of this experiment, the results of this study showed that arithmetic calculation performance as a scale of accuracy of mental work rather increase after the exercise even though there are slight difference among the subjects.
A Thinning Algorithm by the Fire Front' Propagation and WPTA Algorithm for the Character Recognition

This paper is the study about the thinning algorithm by the fire front' propagation and WPTA available for the recognition of various characters. The proposed algorithm can extract the skeleton of a character almost similar to the original pattern by using the depth value representing depth information of each pixel. In this paper we proposed the new thinning algorithm, implemented it, and showed execution results.
On the Implementation of the Multiple Service for the Smart Card Application Programs

Recently, smart cards with multi-applications loaded are becoming popular owing to many advantages. As many casual users would like to reduce the number of plastic cards, and card issuers want to upgrade the existing applications or add the new applications, and developers wish to reduce the development turn-around time, multi-applications smart cards are becoming important. In addition, many advantages exist between the business partners as smart card applications can share critical information. New operating systems such as JavaCard and MULTOS are suggested for the multi-applications smart card service recently. In this paper, after we review the principles of operations of smart card, we propose the various security mechanisms for the multi-application JavaCard service environment, which is becoming de facto standard in the industry.
Characteristic of Data Distribution and Data Replication based Model of LDAP System in High Performance Grid Environments

Recently, as the number of entities participating in the Grid system increased, the response time of LDAP system became inadequate. Consequently, we have to design new LDAP that suitable for high performance Grid environments. For this, researches about analysis of performance LDAP system are needed firstly. However, because researches are focused mostly on read operation optimized environments, so these result of researches are not directly applied to high performance Grid environments that write operation occupies most. In this paper, we provide overall results of analysis of performance of LDAP system with respect to number of node, query arrival rate, probability of read and so on. The analysis is based on in analytic performance model by applying the M/M/1 queuing model. Finally, based on the results, we suggest the direction for the design of high performance LDAP system and this research results can be applied as basic materials to design of GIS in high performance Grid environments as well as.
Development of Education Information System for Parents of Children with Disability in Wire and Wireless Internet Environment

For effective education of children with disability, education in school and home have to be performed consistently. That is, Schools have to inform parents of educational philosophy, management policy, instruction curriculum, school information of students with disability, and guidance methods thus consistent environment for education have to be provided at home. Furthermore, keeping close relation with school, parents have to solve problems occurred at home together. This paper aims to develop in educational information system from which parents could get useful information to guide their children. Our system was developed to be used in wireless internet environment using mobile phone as well as win internet using PC. Therefore, parents of children with disability could instantly get necessary information from it without restriction of time arid space.
A Study on Performance Assessment Methods Using Fuzzy Logic

Performance assessment was introduced to improve self-directed learning and method of assessment for differenced learning when the seventh educational curriculum was enforced. Written examinations often fail to properly assess students higher thinking abilities ad problem solving abilities. Performance assessment addresses this drawback and also allows normalization of class and school quality. However, performance assessment also has drawbacks that could lead to faulty assessment due to lack of fairness, reliability and validity of grading, ambiguity of grading standard etc. This study proposes a fuzzy performance assessment system to address the drawbacks of the conventional performance assessment. This paper presents in objective and reliable performance assesment method through fuzzy reasoning, design of fuzzy membership function. We define a fuzzy rule analyzing factor that influences in each sacred ground of performance assessment and accounts for the principle subject The proposed performance assessment method divides into three categories, namely, formation estimation subject estimation and design of membership function. Performance assessment result that is worked through fuzzy performance assessment system can reduce the burden of appraisal's fault and provide. We fair and reliable assessment results through grading that have correct standard mid consistency to students.
