The purpose of this study was to analyse 3, 4, 5-year-old children's private speech according to their age and task characteristics (structured task vs. unstructured task). In order to achieve the goal, the main effect of age, characteristic of tasks and interaction effect were considered among age and characteristic of tasks on preschool children's private speech. The subjects were each 30 3, 4, 5-year-olds from preschool in Busan, South Korea. The structured task was puzzle task and the unstructured task was drawing task from TCT-DP. The data was analyzed by repeated measurement two way ANOVA: 3(age)
2((characteristic of task). As a result, firstly, total private speech of 4-year-old was higher than 3-year-old, 5-year-old in both tasks, and total private speech of 5-year-old was higher than 3-year-old in both tasks. Secondly, the task-irrelevant private speech was not affected by main effect of age and characteristic of task and interaction effect between age and characteristic of task. Thirdly, the task-relevant private speech was received both main effects and interaction effects between age and characteristic of task. Finally, the external manifestation of inner speech were not received effect of age but received effect of characteristic of task, and received interaction effect between age and characteristic of task. The results of this study imply that characteristic of task is an important factor inducing children's private speech.

Journal of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Education, volume 24, issue 4, 2012, Pages 507~515
DOI : 10.13000/JFMSE.2012.24.4.507
Jungmun beach was confirmed only one beach as a nesting place of seaturtles in Jeju of South Korea. We investigated the environment conditions for nesting of seaturtles (sites 1, 2) to target as the spawning grounds of accidental nesting place. Sand temperatures of beaches at 5 cm above and 10, 30 and 50 cm below the surface of beach were measured at intervals of approximately 10 days during June to December. These data indicated that the optimum (over
) sand temperature for spawning and hatching of seaturtles in the sites 1 and 2 from June 23 to September 29, 2008 and from June 23 to October 17, 2008, respectively. Also, maintained the optimum coastal water temperature (above
) for seaturtles maintained from June 23 to November 17, 2008. Therefore, Jungmun beach could be the possible spawning grounds of accidental nesting place, where the landed seaturtles and hatched young seaturtles could be survived successfully.

Journal of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Education, volume 24, issue 4, 2012, Pages 516~527
DOI : 10.13000/JFMSE.2012.24.4.516
This study analyzed the programs offered in the youth center located in Gyeongsangnam-do Province in accordance with the domains for creative activity. The creative activity, introduced through the 2009 revised national curriculum, puts an emphasis on the experiential activities to enhance the creativity of students. The creativity activity needs to be operated as intended in order to ensure that the students can grow into adults, who have creativity and good personality, by amassing a variety of experiences. For that, various human resources and physical resources of communities need to be utilized efficiently. Thus, this study explored the measures to achieve the original objectives of creativity activity by analyzing the programs - offered by the youth centers in Gyeongsangnam-do Province - based on the scope of creativity activity. The followings are the results of the analysis of 177 programs offered in 12 organizations that came under the three categories (training facilities operated directly by the Education Office, public training centers, culture center) of the youth centers located in Gyeongsangnam-do Province. Autonomous activity' comprised the highest proportion in the youth center programs of the three categories, followed by club activity. The programs associated with the 'career activity' - which most students have the highest expectations in relation to the creativity activity - comprised relatively low proportion. In conclusion, the programs offered by the youth centers in communities need to become more diversified in order to achieve the intended results of creative activity. In addition, the programs associated with the 'career activity', which student prefer the most, need to be operated in a more diversified manner with greater emphasis. Furthermore, the measures should be explored which may increase the involvement of youth education experts of community in the operations of creativity activity.

Journal of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Education, volume 24, issue 4, 2012, Pages 543~558
DOI : 10.13000/JFMSE.2012.24.4.543
This is a qualitative study of pre-service teachers' experiences in a teaching practicum course which attempted to identify the characteristics of the course that has been recently revised as professional education course. Data were collected from college students who took the professional education courses including the teaching practicum course by using both a survey on the opinions and suggestions of the students on the teaching practicum and a in-depth interview with 12 students of them. The results are as follows. First, pre-service teachers' perception of a teaching practicum course was divided into two sides : functional side and sociocultural side. The formal is that the professional education courses significantly handed to discipline practical jobs related to educational administration. The latter is that the professional education courses significantly handed to deal for teachers like pay step, extra pay, vacation, and leave of absence. Second, the pre-service teachers had suggestions that were divided into the 'curriculum content' and the 'instructional method'. For instance, regarding the 'curriculum content' they suggested such things needed as 'lessening and differentiation of content, sensitive about the scene, and lesson hands-on', and as for the 'instructional method' they suggested such things needed as actively 'doing, participating, assessing, coursework participating'. Based on these results, I have comprehended the pre-service teachers' positive response. Untill now, we have perceived that the professional education courses is excessively theory-oriented one. But a teaching practicum course is different. Meanwhile, It is not identify what the teaching practicum course as teaching refinement education course is. Due to this cause, I have comprehended that 'curriculum content' and the 'instructional method' is plunged in confusion. As pointed out this, I did concrete proposals in response to such a confusion. This proposals have helped decided on a direction of a teaching practicum course.

Park, Han-Sook ;
Journal of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Education, volume 24, issue 4, 2012, Pages 574~590
DOI : 10.13000/JFMSE.2012.24.4.574
The purpose of this study is to analyze the 'Pleasant Life' textbook in the elementary school focused on the perspective of ethnocentrism and cultural relativism. The first- and second-grade textbook 'Pleasant Life' of the revised 2007 national curriculum was made to serve build up sound body and mind through activities and play together with different products and life culture which is associated with multicultural education. But in the global world that is changing to the multicultural area, the textbook 'Pleasant Life' has a tendency to not to be satisfied this current needs. The analysis criterion is made up six elements: understanding culture, self-identify, human equality, conquest of prejudice and collaboration. The results of analysis on contents related to the multicultural education in the elementary 'Pleasant Life' textbook for the 1st and 2nd grade are follows. The first, in the plenty of images and pictures, there are not diverse races in the textbook. Yellow race naturally command an overwhelming majority in the textbook images and pictures. Second, the 'Pleasant Life' has a few multicultural contents and if teacher would not have will for teaching multicultural contents, he can't teach multicultural education. Third, 'Pleasant Life' textbook has overmuch ethnocentrism contents which is expressed traditional play and folk songs. These contents lead to exclusiveness for other culture to students. In conclusion, it is needed to grow concerns for multicultural education and the national curriculum should offer precise guidelines on the direction and standards of multicultural education.

Journal of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Education, volume 24, issue 4, 2012, Pages 591~601
DOI : 10.13000/JFMSE.2012.24.4.591
Olive flounders, Paralichthys olivaceus, were intraperitoneally challenged with Edwardsiella tarda or Streptococcus iniae or both bacteria simultaneously. The pathogenicity was respectively compared with blood chemical using alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspatate aminotransferase (AST), glucose and total protein, lysozyme activity, bacterial number of kidney and spleen, histopathological change, and cumulative mortality. The tested group of coinfection showed increased cumulative mortality, bacterial number of kidney and spleen, AST and histopathological change, but not in lysozyme activity compared with others. This study provides support for the conclusion that simultaneous infection with Edwardsiella tarda and Streptococcus iniae in a susceptible host results in higher pathogenicity, leading to the increment of bacterial number and the destruction of the internal organs.

Journal of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Education, volume 24, issue 4, 2012, Pages 602~608
DOI : 10.13000/JFMSE.2012.24.4.602
This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of commercial extruded pellet (EP) diet on the growth and water quality compared with a raw fish moist pellet (MP) diet for flounder on field feeding experiments. Three replicate groups of 130 fish per each tank (initial weight of 380 g) were fed one of the EP and Moist pellet (MP) for 7 months. In field feeding experiment, no significant difference was observed in final mean weight of fish fed the experimental EP (1,233 g) and MP (1,237 g), and any noticeable problem caused by feeding the experimental EP was not found during the whole period of feeding trial. Feed efficiency of fish fed the experimental EP was higher than that of MP, and there was no significant difference in survival between the fish fed experimental EP and MP. The concentrations of SS, COD, TN and TP of seawater in tanks of MP groups were 1-5 times higher than those of EP groups. Therefore, these results strongly suggest that diet EP could be developed to replace MP diet for the marketable size of production for flounder without adverse effects on growth performance and water quality.
