Development of PV Module Process Using Automatic Arrangement Tool

In this study, a manufacturing process for PV module has been developed using an automatic arraying equipment. It is expected that this process could improve the productivity and curtail the production cost in the photovoltaic module production line. From the results, it is proved that this process reduces Line-stop and enhances the productivity more than 15% a day which can be related directly to the production line cost.
Active Solar Heating System Design & Analysis Program

This study aims to develop the program for active solar heating system design & analysis. The program, named ASOLis, is consisted of three user's interface like as system input/output, library, and utilities and used TRNSYS as a calculation engine for the system analysis. ASOLis simplifies user's input data through the database and can design 37 different types of solar systems. Solar system is configurated by two separated parts "solar thermal collecting part" and "load supplying part". Due to the user-friendly layout, all design parameters can be changed quickly and easily for the influence on system efficiency. For the reliability, ASOLis compared with experimental result. As a result, ASOLis is expected to be used as a vital tool for the design and analysis of active solar heating system.
A Refinement of WAsP Prediction in a Complex Terrain

The comparative performance of the WAsP in calculating the wind climate in complex terrain has been examined in order to test the predictability of the wind resource assessment computer code in our country. An analysis was carried out of predicted and experimental 10-min averaged wind data collected over 8 months at four monitoring sites in SongDang province, Jeju island, composed of sea, inland flat terrain, a high and a low slope craters. The comparisons show that the WAsP preditions give better agreement with experimental data by adjusting the roughness descriptions, the obstacle list.

Heat transfer characteristics for an air jet vertically impinging on a flat plate with a set of hybrid rods was investigated numerically using the RNG k-

. Parameters investigated were the jet Reynolds number, nozzle -to-plate spacing, the rod pitch and rod-to-plate clearance. The local and average Nusselt number were found to be dependent on the rod pitch and the clearance because installing rods disturbed the flow. Higher convective heat transfer rate occurred in the whole plate as well as in the wall jet region.
Insulation Performance Evaluation of the Curtain Wall Anchoring Unit by 3D Heat Transfer Simulation and Life Cycle Cost Analysis

It is very important to improve the insulation performance of curtain wall anchoring unit since it is composed of materials with high thermal conductivity, such as aluminium, steel and so on. This study aims to evaluate the heating energy performance and economical efficiency of various alternatives which are different in position and material of insulation. As results, alternative of inserting the urethane washer & pad and coating the anchoring unit with urethane foam can improve the heating energy performance and L.C.C(Life Cycle Cost) by 6.33% and 0.95%, respectively, as compared with the existing case.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the window area ratio distribution of building facade in Tokyo metropolitan area. The survey was carried out in Marunouchi, Kanda, Kasai and Todoriki district. The results of this study were as follows; to propose of window area ratio production method, analyzed and surveyed window area ratio of each district building-used and to compared every wall window area ratio of building. The Materials of Earth Friendly Architecture

Earth friendly system is applied widely to industries for maintaining development. The declaration of earth friendly characteristic which is an indication of the total amount of energy in evaluation of earth friendly material is not easy to apply to building materials Therefore, Accurate standards about earth friendly materials are necessary. Earth friendly building materials should be considered in the fields of energy and resource consumption, changes in urban climate and resident health, etc. Among these fields, energy and resource consumption has released toxic pollutants into the air, caused indoor moisture problems and exhausted resources continuously. Especially, moisture problem is an indicator of main factors of earth friendly characteristic. Timber, Soil. Cement Mortar and Charcoal are used to examine the sustainable properties of materials of moisture control. The result shows that wood, charcoal and soil is vivid in changes of moisture absorption and discharge in comparison with that of cement mortar.
A Study on the Energy Performance Renovation for the Sustainable the Residential Houses

In planning a building retrofit, energy conservation, thermal comfort and economic benefits should be considered. In this study, retrofit effects of exterior insulating method on preventing condensation, saving energy were analyzed through the heat transfer simulation, energy simulation in the apartment house retrofitted by exterior insulating method cheaper than other retrofit methods. The results of this study show that the retrofit using exterior insulating method can prevent the condensation at the corner walls and save about 20% of annual heating load. The LCC analysis revealed to be effective to select a dryvit system for a building retrofit.
A Study on the Optimal Distance and Heating Energy with relation to Site Planning of Apartment Building

Recently, the apartment building has been constructed in large quantities to provide housings due to the gravitation of population towards large cities. However, we're faced with a critical problem of deterioration of our dwelling environment caused by the trend toward high-rise apartment which could be an obstruction in obtaining sufficient sunlight. Therefore, there have been several legislative actions against infringement on the right of sunshine. In the building law, sunshine hours and the minimal separated distance between apartments are regulated as the criteria for the site planning, However, the minimal separated distance was defined without consideration of the parameters like building orientation and thermal effect of the sunshine hours in the site planning for the apartment building. In this study, the sunshine hours and heating energy during the underheated season for various arrangements in site planning are carefully considered and analyzed.
