Examination for Methodology of Design of Emergency Lightings by Using Space Syntax Theory (공간구문론을 이용한 지하공간 비상유도등의 효율적인 위치선정 방법론 검토)

  • The emergency lighting plan for underground space should be done with consideration of characteristics of the space. In terms of utilizing the Depthmap program from the Space Syntax theory, it is possible to analyze space quantitatively. Integration and intelligibility are major induces of this theory and we can use them as emergency lighting design parameters. For this study, human behaviors and survivor's evacuation routes in fire emergencies are analyzed through literature review. Based on those results, this study suggests the methodology of emergency lighting plan in underground space.

  • 최근 전 세계적인 기후변화로 인한 풍수해 증가 추세와 금년 잦은 지진발생으로 인해 재난에 대한 관심이 증가하였다. 그러나 대부분의 재난대비는 도시지역에 기초하고 있기 때문에 농촌마을의 재난대비책을 마련하는 것 이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 농촌지역의 공간구조분석을 통하여 농촌지역 특성을 도출하였고, 농촌지역 특성에 따른 자연재해현황을 조사하여 공간구문론 분석을 통한 농촌마을 재난대비 공간정비 가이드라인을 개발하였다.

  • 최근 국토해양부의 주도로 기존 도시를 중심으로 한 도시재생사업이 활발하게 이루어 지고 있는 시점에서 개발로 인한 경관의 변화와 평가가 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 경관평가에 있어서 선행되어져야 할 기본적이면서도 중요한 것이 바로 조망점의 선정이다. 그러나 현재까지도 조망점의 선정방식은 정확한 지표나 근거 없이 평가자의 주관적이고 인위적인 방식에 의해 선정되어 왔다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 GIS와 공간구문론을 이용하여 보다 객관적이고 정량화된 조망점 선정 방식을 제시하고자 한다.

A Vine-Based Stochastic Loading Technique in Pedestrian Networks Considering Space Syntax Theory (Space Syntax Theory를 반영한 덩굴망기반 확률적 보행네트워크 배정기법)

  • Evaluation of the walkability of the urban pedestrian network requires construction of a pedestrian network model that reflects Space Syntax Theory. Space Syntax Theory deduces an integration value through which materials for evaluation of the pedestrian network's connectivity can be produced; and can aid in illustrating the ease of walkability through the model's calculation of pedestrian indices such as movability, comfort, and safety. But the representation of space syntax theory in the pedestrian network requires that turn delay be added by means of a network-type construction method. While tree-based Dial Algorithm proposed for the logit-based probability walkability distribution model may be effective for link-based pedestrian volume distribution, it requires further network expansion to reflect turn delays. In this research, Vine-based Dial Algorithm is executed in order to obtain a measure reflecting the integration value for Space Syntax Theory. The Vine-based Dial Algorithm of two adjacent links, which forms the minimum unit of the Vine network, has the advantage of encompassing turn delay, and thus eliminates the need for network expansion. Usage of the model to evaluation of complicated pedestrian spheres such as urban roads is left to further research. Especially the progression of the proposed method is deduced through case study.

A Practical Examination on the Effectiveness of Integration Calibration Coefficient of Space Syntax (공간구문론 통합도 보정계수의 유효성에 관한 실증적 고찰)

  • The purpose of this research is to (i) examine the effectiveness of an indicator of space syntax, i.e., integration from the empirical perspective and (ii) propose a new way to represent integration. For the first purpose, we examined if the integration of nodes remains the same regardless of the size of a network when they are at the same position at the same shape of a network. This research shows that the integration value did not remain constant, indicating that Hillier's argument that integration can be used as an absolute comparative criterion is not reasonable. This research proposed two more effective ways to represent integration. One is to use an accumulation rate on the basis of the size of integration. The other is to represent integration with a multiple of standard deviation based on the observation findings that the distribution of integration of a network in a certain shape is consistent. The former has an advantage that the ranking of integration of certain nodes can be represented clearly; and the latter has the merit of presenting both ranking and distribution of integration.

Integration of Space Syntax Theory and Logit Model for Walkability Evaluation in Urban Pedestrian Networks (도시 보행네트워크의 보행성 평가를 위한 공간구문론과 Logit 모형의 통합방안)

  • Ensuring walkability in a city where pedestrians and vehicles coexist is an issue of critical importance. The relative relationship between vehicle transit and walkability improvements complicates the evaluation of walkability, which thus necessitates the formation of a quantitative standard by which a methodological measurement of walkability can be achieved inside the pedestrian network. Therefore, a model is determined whereby quantitative indices such as, but not limited to, experiences of accessibility, mobility, and convenience within the network are estimated. This research proposes the integration of space syntax theory and the logit path choice model in the evaluation of walkability. Space syntax theory assesses adequacy of the constructed pedestrian network through calculation of the link integration value, while the logit model estimates its safety, mobility, and accessibility using probability. The advantage of the integrated model hence lies in its ability to sufficiently reflect such evaluation measures as the integration value, mobility convenience, accessibility potential, and safety experienced by the demand in a quantitative manner through probability computation. In this research, the Dial Algorithm is used to arrive at a solution to the logit model. This process requires that the physical distance of the pedestrian network and the perceptive distance of space syntax theory be made equivalent. In this, the research makes use of network expansion to reflect wait times. The evaluation index calculated through the integrated model is reviewed and using the results of this sample network, the applicability of the model is assessed.

  • Due to the fact that there are low birth rate and longer life longevity, schools have been shutting down and converted into welfare facilities. However, most of researches about utilizing closed down school are focused on case researches or architectural planning and design. Moreover, majority of existing welfare centers for the aged are not designed with the flow of human traffic in mind, which means there is no consideration of physical or psychological characteristics of elderly people. That fact leads to increasing number of shutting down welfare facilities. Therefore, this thesis will present the necessity of effective space allocation, extension and reconstruction for residents in aged care by analyzing space using index of space syntax with depth-map software.

  • 우리나라의 경우 시계열적인 토지 이용의 변화특성에 대한 경향 및 유형의 분석과 예측에 관련한 연구는 그 중요성에도 불구하고 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 서울시 강남구의 구축한 시계열 데이터를 바탕으로 가로체계와 토지이용 자료를 사용하여 강남구 공간구조의 시계열 공간구조변화의 패턴분석을 목적으로 한다. 또한 토지이용 변화과정을 함께 비교분석한다. 강남구는 70년대 초부터 개발로 인해 많이 변화해온 지역이다. 이를 고려하여 60,70,80,90년의 시계열별 공간구문론을 도입하여 축선도(Axial map)를 통해 정량적 분석을 한다. 향후 도로의 접근성 측면에서의 토지이용변화 예측모델 방법론과 연계가 이루어진다면 공간변화를 효과적으로 추정할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.
