  • The purpose of this study was to examine differences in multicultural early childhood teaching activities according to the general characteristics of early childhood teachers, to analyze the relationships and effects of early childhood teachers' happiness, variables of attitudes toward the teaching profession, and variables of multicultural teaching, and ultimately to identify variables related to early childhood teachers that explain multicultural early childhood teaching activities. For this study, 270 teachers in charge of young children from multicultural families at early childhood education institutions were sampled. When the 'age' variable, which might affect multicultural teaching activities, was excluded and the relationships among early childhood teachers' variables as independent variables were analyzed, happiness and obsessive passion were found to have an effect on multicultural teaching activities. These findings suggest that early childhood teachers' happiness and passion for teaching needs to be enhanced as an effort to set the direction of multicultural education fit for the characteristics of Korea in the field of early childhood education, where the foundation of culture is laid and prejudices are easily formed.

  • Researches, studies, and most administration services at the universities are currently carried out through computers. So the IT infrastructure and. the information system of the university are becoming complicated. When a user has problems in using the information system, it is very difficult to get solution for that problem even a computer center or a help desk exists. In this paper we propose a method to establish a service desk based on the ITIL(Information Technology Infrastructure Library) to support efficient learning at the universities. The proposed method in this paper can be used to establish a systematic learning support system when errors of computation happen in learning, researches, and administrative tasks at the universities.

  • The present study aims to investigate the effects of mobile phone use on aviation students' English language learning. Considering that affective factors have impacts on English language learning, this study focuses on confidence, motivation, and anxiety in English learning. For the current study, 46 college students were recruited. The participants were divided into one experimental group (n = 24) and one control group (n = 22) at random. During 16 weeks, the experimental group joined in chat via mobile phone while the control group did not. To understand the participants' experience of mobile phone use and to compare the attitudes towards English language learning, a survey was performed. Major findings are as follows: The experimental group showed more positive attitudes towards English learning than the control group did. Specifically, the participants who engaged in chat via mobile phone became more confident and motivated to learn English but less anxious about English learning. These results provide insights into the engagement in chat via mobile phone for aviation students' English learning. This study also suggests ways how CTL at universities can support their students' English language learning using mobile phones.

Subjects were 684 students who responded to a student engagement survey questionnaire among the students attending the regular curriculum at the K-college located in Geoje-si. For measurement, the college students' learning process analysis scale was modified and supplemented prior to use. Frequency analysis was adopted to search individual backgrounds of college students. One-way ANOVA and Post-hoc test were conducted in order to find differences according to gender differences, the years for graduation, college majors, and grades by the level of learning process. The study results are as follows. First, the college students' learning process on gender had significant differences in involvement in and out of instruction, teaching-learning outcomes, and college facility system and service. Second, the college students' learning process according to the years for graduation had significant differences in involvement in and out of instruction, class satisfaction, and college facility system and service. Third, the college students' learning process according to major differences had significant differences in involvement in and out of instruction, study interactions, academic achievement, and college facility system and service. Fourth, the college students' learning process according to grades had significant differences in total sub-components (involvement in and out of instruction, class satisfaction, study interactions, academic achievement, and college facility system and service). Lastly, the study discussions and implications are described.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop play education programs based on the instructional systems development (ISD). To achieve the goal, play education programs for elementary school students were developed based on the ADDIE model. Internal researchers, teaching design experts, and subject matter expert reviewed, modified, and developed play and education programs having three modules: design and scheduling, making a model, and preparing an exhibition. Students set up a program to realize the play space they want through collaboration with their peers. The program was applied to fifth grade elementary school students in Chungju for verification of the play and education program. At the end of the play education program, the FGI was conducted on 13 students to measure the overall value of the play education program, including its sustainability. Through these processes, we drew the effects and implications of the play education program and presented future research directions of play education and projects for elementary school students.

  • This study conducted an overall recognition analysis and demand survey of parent education programs in order to explore ways to promote parent education. Based on previous research, the questionnaire was developed including five factors and 23 items : (1) operating a center to support parent education, (2) perception on parent education programs, (3) developing a parent education program, (4) utilizing space, and (5) program operation and evaluation. A survey was administered on the parents of second and fourth graders at A elementary school in Chungju. The result showed that parents are positive about the operation of the center, which can provide professional support for parent education programs. There was also a great demand to strengthen the educational content of parents' roles. This study is meaningful in providing basic data for developing parent education programs based on the perception and demand analysis of existing parent education. Furthermore, the need for performance analysis and feedback was presented in future research directions after the actual development and operation of parent education programs that reflected the demand of parents.
