The study for characteristics of a concaved microstrip antenna (오목형 마이크로스트립 안테나의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 기존의 직사각형 마이크로스트립 평면구조 패치 안테나를 변형하여 패치상에 오목한 구조를 갖는 새로운 3차원 패치구조의 마이크로스트립 안테나를 제안하고, 그 공진주파수와 대역폭 변화 특성을 연구하였다. 오목형 구조의 크기에 따라 공진 주파수와 대역폭이 증가하는 것으로 관찰되었으며, 복사특성은 기존의 마이크로스트립 안테나와 거의 유사한 특성을 나타내었다. 새로운 3차원 구조를 갖는 패치에 대한 해석 및 설계는 FDTD 방법을 사용하였으며, 이에 대한 검증을 위해 기존의 마이크로스트립 안테나와 제안된 오목형 구조의 안테나를 제작하여 측정한 결과 공진주파수 및 대역폭 특성 변화가 해석결과와 잘 일치함을 확인할 수 있었다.

"ㄱ"형 슬롯구조를 갖는 이중대역 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나의 설계

  • 슬롯이 있는 직사각형 마이크로스트립 안테나의 이중주파수 동작 특성을 연구하였다. 마이크로스트립 안테나의 급전방식은 전자기적으로 결합된 단일 마이크로스트립 안테나이며, 패치구조는 직사각형 패치의 대각선 방향에 "ㄱ"형 슬롯을 대칭으로 배치시켰다. 본 논문에서 제안된 "ㄱ"형 슬롯의 장점으로는 패치의 크기를 줄이는 효과와 동시에 이중 대역의 주파수를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 제안된 마이크로스트립 안테나의 반사손실은 S11에서 -10 dB 기준으로 첫 번째 공진점 4.808 ㎓ 에서는 120 MHz의 대역폭을 가졌고, 두 번째 공진점 6.175 GHz 에서는 100 MHz의 대역폭을 가졌다.는 100 MHz의 대역폭을 가졌다.

Design of Bent-Slotted High-Sensitivity Microstrip Patch Permittivity Sensor Antenna (구부러진 슬롯이 추가된 고감도 마이크로스트립 패치 유전율 센서 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a design method for a high-sensitivity microstrip patch sensor antenna (MPSA) loaded with a bent-slot was studied for the permittivity measurement. The bent-slot similar to a single-ring complementary split ring resonator was added along a radiating edge of the patch in order to enhance the sensitivity to the permittivity. The sensitivity of the proposed MPSA was compared with that of a conventional rectangular MPSA and a thin rectangular-slotted MPSA. Three MPSAs were designed and fabricated on a 0.76-mm-thick RF-35 substrate so that the input reflection coefficient would resonate at 2.5 GHz in the absence of the superstrate under test. When five different Taconic substrates with a relative permittivity ranging from 2.17 to 10.2 were used as the superstrate under test, experiment results show that the sensitivity of the proposed MPSA, which is measured by the shift in the resonant frequency of the input reflection coefficient, is 4.1 to 6.1 times higher than that of the conventional MPSA.

  • 본 논문에서는 900MHz대역의 대각선 슬롯형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나를 설계하였다. 제안한 마이크로스트립 패치안테나는 안테나 크기, 절단 길이, 급전위치, 공기층의 높이 등과 같은 중요 파라미터를 고려하여 설계하였다. 설계한 마이크로스트립 패치안테나는 915MHz에서 최소의 반사손실을 가지며, 반사손실을 -16dB 이하에서 정재파비가 1.2이하일 경우, 약 26MHz의 대역폭을 확보함을 알 수 있다. 또한, 설계한 대각선 슬롯형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나는 915MHz 중심주파수 대역에서 이득이 6dB이고, 축비가 2.8dB 되어 우수한 특성을 갖는다.

  • General microstrip patch antenna has small bandwidth. Also this patch antenna is strongly influenced by the thickness of dielectric substrate and its relative permittivity. In this paper, wideband microstrip patch antenna operating in 2.4GHz ISM band is studied. Input impedance and return loss for designed microstrip patch antenna by using MoM method and is estimated.

  • In this study, FSS(Frequency Selective Surface) with Koch Fractal Curve slot is positioned on the conventional single layer microstrip patch antenna. Numerical results of the proposed antenna bandwidth and the antenna gain are increased compared with those of the conventional single layer microstrip patch antenna. In the future, the fractal geometry of the slot in FSS(Frequency Selective Surface) as a supplementary microstrip patch is researched for the enhancement of the microstrip patch antenna characteristics.

  • In this paper, a microstrip patch antenna with the T-shaped slits is designed and fabricated for GPS. The resonant frequency of the microstrip patch antenna with the slits is lower than that of a microstrip patch antenna without the slits so it can be reduced the size of patch. In order to calculate resonant frequency of the microstrip patch antenna with the slits, the resonant frequency formulas are derived from the surface current distribution on microstrip patch antenna. Using the Ensemble 6.0 simulation tool, the accuracy of approximate equations is verified. The microstrip patch antenna with the slits is designed by using these equations. The size of the designed antenna with T-shaped slits can be reduced to 29% compared with that without the slits. The microstrip patch antenna with slits have a very narrow bandwidth. In order to improve the narrow bandwidth of microstrip patch antennas with the slits, a microstrip patch antenna with rectangular slot is proposed. As the result of the measurements, the resonant frequency of the proposed microstrip patch antenna with the T-shaped slits is 1.575GHz and the bandwidth is about 50MHz.

Wideband Stacked Microstrip Antenna with Rectangular and Triangular Parasitic Patches for 860MHz Band (직사각형 및 삼각형 기생패치를 이용한 860MHz 대역 광대역 적층 마이크로스트립 안테나)

  • A wideband stacked patch antenna with parasitic elements, rectangular and triangle shaped patches, is proposed. Two different shaped parasitic elements are placed in the above of main rectangular microstrip patch antenna in order to achieve wide bandwidth for 860 MHz band. Coupling between the main patch and parasitic patches is realized by thick air gap. The gap and locations of parasitic patches are found to be the main factor of the wideband impedance matching. The proposed antenna is designed and fabricated on a ground plane with small size of $119mm{\times}109mm$ for application of compact transceivers. The fabricated antenna on an FR4 substrate shows that the minimum measured return loss is below -11.68dB at 824 MHz and an impedance band of 818~919 MHz(11.7%) at 10dB return loss level. The measured radiation patterns are similar to those of a conventional patch antenna with maximum gain of 2.11 dBi at 824 MHz.

  • This paper presents a microstrip patch array antenna having transmission feed and reception feed for satellite communication in the Ku band. In this paper, the element of the patch array antenna is a three-stacked structure consisting of one radiation patch and two parasitic patches for high gain and wide bandwidth characteristics. To obtain higher gain, the unit elements are expanded into a $1{\times}8$ may using a mixture of series and parallel feeds. The proposed antenna has horizontal polarization for the Rx band and vertical polarization for the Tx band. To verify the practicality of this antenna, we fabricated a three-stacked patch array antenna and measured its performance. The gain of the array antenna in the Rx and Tx bands exceeds 17 and 18 dBi, respectively. The impedance bandwidth is over 10 % in both bands. The cross-polarization level is below -25 dB, and the sidelobe level is below -9.4 dB.
