An Analysis of a Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction on the Relationship between Education and Training of Female Managers and Life Satisfaction (여성 관리자의 교육훈련과 삶의 만족의 관계에서 직무만족의 매개효과 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the relationships between education and training, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction for female managers and to analyze the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between education and training and life satisfaction. Statistical analysis was conducted on a total of 1,381 female managers using the data from the 6th Korean Women Manager Panel Survey. The results of the study were as follows. First, education and training had a significant positive impact on job satisfaction. Second, education and training had a significant positive impact on life satisfaction. Third, job satisfaction had a significant positive impact on life satisfaction. Fourth, job satisfaction had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between education and training and life satisfaction. Additional research on education, job satisfaction, and life relations of female workers is needed. In order to establish a virtuous cycle of education and training, work, and life for female managers, related government policies and systems need to be improved.

Correlates of the Participation of Leisure Activities, Leisure Satisfaction, and Quality of Life among Disabled People (장애인의 여가활동참여와 여가만족, 삶의 질과의 관계)

  • The purpose of the this study was to investigate the association of the participation of leisure activities, leisure satisfaction and quality of life, and analyze the mediating effect of leisure satisfaction in the relationship between the participation of leisure activities and quality of life among people with disabilities. For the purpose, the data were collected by using non-random purposive and convenient sampling methods and 192 disabled people who reside in Daegu city and Kyungpook provinces filled out self-administered questionnaires for this study. Findings of the study indicated that there were statistically significant relationships among the participation of leisure activities, leisure satisfaction, and quality of life and active types of leisure activities such as physical activities, travel activities, and social participating activities were significantly related with leisure satisfaction and quality of life. In addition, the mediating effect of leisure satisfaction in the relationship between the participation of leisure activities and quality of life was statistically significant. Based on the findings of the study, possible practice implications for improving quality of life among disabled people and recommendation for further study were provided.

Analysis on the primary of character strength that affects the life satisfaction of university students (대학생들의 삶의 만족여부에 영향을 주는 성격적 강점 요인)

  • The purpose of this study among university students is to analyze difference of their character strengths by life satisfaction and to indicate the primary factors of character strength that affect life satisfaction. The study has shown that among 24 character strength factors, only kindness, self-control, hope, optimism and humor lead to life dissatisfaction, and the other factors lead to higher satisfaction. According to the primary factors of character strengths that affect life satisfaction, love, fairness, appreciation and spirituality affect life satisfaction similarly. In addition, love and humor is directly related to it while spirituality, appreciation and fairness are indirectly related. Moreover, the primary factors of life satisfaction in order are love, humor, spirituality, appreciation and fairness.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the correlations among mindfulness, interpersonal relationships, and life satisfaction and to verify the mediating effect of the interpersonal relationships. Questionnaire survey measuring the mindfulness, the interpersonal relationships, and the life satisfaction was performed for 549 adult males and females. The research results by structural equation model to investigate the correlations among mindfulness, interpersonal relationships, and life satisfaction are as follows. First, mindfulness, interpersonal relationships, and life satisfaction steadily increase in accordance with the three stages of life: youth, early adults, middle and old age. Second, mindfulness has a significantly positive effect on interpersonal relationships and life satisfaction, and interpersonal relationships also has a significantly positive effect on life satisfaction. Third, interpersonal relationships has a significantly mediating effect between the relationships between mindfulness and life satisfaction. These results imply that various and active works are required to improve interpersonal relationships as well as mindfulness to enhance life satisfaction.

  • The intention of this research lies in verifying whether the capabilities have an influence in raising their satisfaction. The results were as follows. Personal inter social skills and personal capabilities had a direct influence on the networking, and also on life satisfaction (networking acting as a mediator). However, problem solving capabilities did not have a substantial influence on the networking (which here, works as a mediating variable). Therefore, according to the above results, various measures which may advance life satisfaction by using the networking as mediator should be reviewed.

  • 본 논문에서는 한국노동연구원에서 1998년에 수집한 "한국노동패널조사" 자료를 이용하여 소득과 만족도로 측정된 주관적 삶의 질간의 관계를 집중적으로 검토해 보았다. 가구 소득, 가족 관계, 여가활동, 주거활동, 근로활동의 5개 삶의 개별영역들에 대한 만족도가 전반적인 삶의 만족도의 50% 이상을 설명되며, 수입에 대한 만족과 전반적 만족간에는 체감의 관계가 있는 것을 발견하였다. 우리 나라 사람들은 자신의 생활에 보통 이하의 만족을 느끼고 있다고 보고하고 있다. 실제 소득과 소득만족도 와 의 연관 은 그렇게 크지 않으며, 이는 가구 소득의 경우에나 개인 소득의 경우에나 유사하게 실제 소득이 소득만족도의 10%정도의 변이만을 설명하고 있다. 서구의 연구 결과와 유사하게 모두 외적인 조건들을 생활만족도의 설명변수로 한 희귀 분석 결과는 변량의 10%정도만을 설명할 뿐인 것으로 나타난다. 것으로 나타난다.

The Effect of Tourism Experience on the Quality of Life of the Elderly (노인의 관광경험이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • The study aimed to explore the association between tourism experience and the quality of life among the elderly over aged 65. Using a sample from Jeju, this study clarifies tourism experiences of the elderly and examines the relationship among tourism experience, six different life domains, and overall quality of life by generating theoretical and practical implications. Structural Equation Modeling approach was used to identify the relationships among the constructs. The results revealed that travel experience positively influences satisfaction with family, social, material, psychological, health, and leisure life domain. However, not all life domain satisfaction affects overall quality of life. Satisfaction with family, leisure, health, psychological well-being life domains was linked to overall life satisfaction among the elderly.

  • This research focuses on analyzing how leisure satisfaction of line dance participating middle-aged and old women impacts on self esteem and quality of life. By identifying the relationship between these factors, benefit of line dancing by middle-aged and old women will be confirmed. The result of this study are as follows. First, group participating in 2 hour class of line dancing had highest leisure satisfaction. Secondly, in analyzing the effect of leisure satisfaction on self-esteem, health factor was the only sub-factor of leisure satisfaction to impact self-esteem. Thirdly, in analyzing the effect of leisure satisfaction on quality of life, health factor was the only sub-factor of leisure satisfaction to have effect on quality of life sub-factors, such as daily life satisfaction, emotional satisfaction, and environmental satisfaction. Fourthly, self-esteem also directly affects quality of life. Since health factor of leisure satisfaction directly affected self-esteem and quality of life, a causal relationship can be seen between the three variables: leisure satisfaction, self-esteem, and life quality.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the structural relationship among job satisfaction, economic condition satisfaction, change of self-worth and quality of life of Elderly Employment Program participants. An analysis was conducted on the data of the '2012 Elderly Employment Program Participants Survey'. The major findings were as follows. The job satisfaction, economic condition satisfaction, change of self-worth had positive effects to quality of life. The job satisfaction had mediator effect to quality of life through economic condition satisfaction and change of self-worth. Also, change of self-worth had indirect effect between economic condition satisfaction and quality of life. Based on the results, the implications for Elderly Employment Program practice and policy were suggested.

Women Immigrants' Satisfaction with Life and Related Variables (여성결혼이민자의 삶의 만족과 관련 변인)

  • This study aimed at identifying the correlation of satisfaction with life and related variables, and the variables influencing the satisfaction with life of women immigrants. The subjects for the study were 108 couple of multicultural families. The main results were as follows. First, women immigrants' satisfaction with life and hope were positively correlated with husbands' hope and satisfaction with life, and negatively correlated with marital conflict. But there were no significant correlation with marital conflict. Second, the result of regression analysis showed that predictors influencing satisfaction with life of women immigrants were women immigrants' agency thinking and husbands' satisfaction with life.
