  • This study examined the predisposing, enabling and need factors, based on Andersen's behavioral model, affecting intention to use community organizing services at a community welfare center. 725 people aged 20 and older who lived in Gwang-jin-gu participated in this study and multiple linear regression analyses were utilized to analyze the deputation. The results demonstrate that intention to use is primarily affected by predisposing factors, age and duration of education. Female and more educated people were significantly associated with the intention to use community organizing services. Enabling factors, reputation and image of the community welfare center significantly affect intention to use community organizing services. People are more likely to use community organizing services when there is higher reputation of the community welfare center and better image of the community welfare center. Finally, intention to use is primarily affected by welfare consciousness, a need factor. People who have liberal welfare consciousness are more likely to use community organizing services. These findings provide implications and suggestions for increasing intention to use community organizing services at a community welfare center.

  • This study was conducted to find a practical implication regarding efficient and smooth service utilization including care burden reduction of family caregivers by empirically analyzing the factors influencing the dementia patient home care intention of family caregivers, based on Anderson's behavior model. For this study, the subjects and characteristics suitable for the study purpose were selected using the source data of "A Survey on the Dementia Recognition and Needs" targeting 26 cities and countries in Gyeonggi-do and then secondary analysis was conducted. This study targeted 539 dementia families, and based on Anderson's behavior model, variables related to predisposing factors, enabling factors and need factors were inserted, and hierarchical regression analysis was applied. The analysis result showed that at a significance level of 5%, the home care intention was high when family caregivers were not living in cities, they were spouses or children and their economic level was high as predisposing factors, and the dementia-related attitude was positive as a enabling factor, and the degree of dementia was mild and care burden was low as need factors. Moreover, need factors were relatively important variables among the three factors mentioned above. These findings demonstrate that for improving the home care intention, there is a need to construct a support strategy, which considers the degree of dementia and economic characteristics and develop diverse counseling and education programs for a positive attitude towards dementia and a differentiated strategy depending on regional and family characteristics.

The study utilized data from 2011 Welfare Needs Assessment of Seoul middle and senior-aged Family with Developmental Disabilities, and the analysis method, the study applied used SPSS 22.0, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, logistic regression analysis. According to the result, the usage needs for Adult Guardianship System increases meaningfully if the parents does not have occupation, and the subject of Adult Guardianship System is male. In income and the social security system wise, the usage needs for Adult Guardianship System show remarkably large rating if the average income is high and the desire to be cared by others is high. Help-seeking Behavior model developed by Andersen and Newman(1973) was used to analyze the factors affecting their utilization residential care service among 1,939 long term care services recipients. Frequency and Decision Tree Regression analysis on SPSS 13.0 used. Analyses show strong significant factor is service preference(predisposing factors), and then significant factors are enabling factors such as co-residence type, household income. According to this results, need factors such as cognition disorder, problem behavior, ADL and IADL disabilities are affecting utilization behavior of elderly residential care services. These findings provide implications and suggestions about how long term care service system would be settled in Korea. And these finding provide information about target-efficient long term care continuum system to policy makers and helping professionals.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide framework for understanding children's dental utilization. In this paper Andersen-Newman's model is applied to the use of dental visits. This model consists of predisposing, enabling, and need components that describe a person's decision to use dental health services. One thousand, nine hundred seven children and their mothers were selected for the study. The children were fourth grade to sixth grade in elementary schools in Iksan city, Korea. Models are operationalized using stepwise multiple regression analysis and path analysis. The number of independent variables used in the analysis was 39 in total, ie 32 predisposing components, 6 enabling components, and 1 need component. Children's Dental utilization was measured based on the number of visits. The data collected by means of a questionnaire survey. In this study, the amount of variance by the model was 25 percent. Predisposing factors had the greatest effect on utilization. Number of restricted activity days caused by oral disease, having a regular dental care, and susceptibility on oral disease of children were found to have significant major effects on dental utilization of children. Mother's dental visits was most important factor affecting dental utilization of children.
