A Study on the Competition Strategies for Traditional market (재래시장의 경쟁력 강화방안에 관한 연구 -SERVQUAL 모형을 중심으로-)

  • 유통시장의 완전한 개방과 더불어 신유통업태의 등장은 기존 재래시장의 경쟁력 약화라는 결과를 초래하였다. 재래시장의 경쟁력 약화는 곧바로 서민경제의 어려움으로 이어지고 이는 지역경제의 붕괴 및 슬럼화라는 악순환을 가져올 수 밖에 없다. 이러한 시점에 재래시장이 갖는 현실적 여건을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 신유통업태와 경쟁관계를 유지할 수 있는 재래시장만의 차별적 운영방안을 제시하고자 한다. 재래시장에 대한 물리적 개선은 단기적 처방에 머물러 장기적인 방향에서 성장을 도모하기는 어렵다고 판단된 것이 본 연구의 출발점이다. 재래시장만의 고유 특성을 극대화하기 위하여 재래시장을 단순한 상거래업체에서 탈피하여 서비스업의 개념으로 경쟁력 강화방안을 도출하였다. 이를 위해 서비스업의 품질을 측정하고 관리하기 위한 이론적 모델중 SERVQUAL을 이용하여 재래시장의 시설 현대화 및 운영프로세스에 대한 실무적 결과를 제시하였다. 결국, 재래시장도 소비자들이 찾고 만족할 수 있는 운영프로세스의 강화가 이루어질 때, 다양한 유통업태들과의 지역내 공생관계를 통한 동반성장이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • There are various ways of the conventional market boost are suggested for an urban renewal recently. Presently, the government has decided to invest total 8 hundred and 10 billion dollars, including a budget of 4 hundred and 60 billion dollars and a capital of the local government, for it for the next 3 years. But, Since Its business has been focused on the redevelopment of the surroundings; remodeling, building parking lots and elevators etc, it has not solved the basic problems of the traditional marketplaces themselves. This research shows the right way to boost the traditional markets with the characteristic of them through case studys from the different cities, revaluation of their images besides the western styled wholesale markets. The survey targets on the traditional marketplaces and the wholesale markets around Tea-Hwa river in Ulsan. And, the different impressions of them are evaluated based on SD(semantic differential method) with citizens' general point of views of them, the sampled pictures and relevant adjectives. The conventional market boost finds the way to be succeeded through the analysis of a primary element base on the survey.

재래시장과 대형마트 고객의 점포 선택요인 비교분석

  • 이 연구는 재래시장과 대형마트 고객들이 점포를 선택하는 요인을 비교분석하고, 고객만족을 결정하는 요인을 규명하여 재래시장 활성화에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 하는 목적을 두었다. 기존 연구를 검토하여 점포선택요인과 고객만족 결정요인들을 도출하여 이를 재래시장과 대형마트 이용 고객에게 설문조사하였다. 연구결과, 재래시장 이용고객은 가격저렴성이, 대형마트 고객은 상품다양성이 가장 중요한 선택요인으로 도출되었다. 재래시장의 고객만족의 결정요인을 분석하고자 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 쇼핑편리성, 상품, 접근편리성, 판매원 그리고 서비스가 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 마쳤다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 논의하고, 연구의 한계와 미래 연구방향을 제시하였다.

Market oriented Typology and Development Directions of Conventional Markets (재래시장의 시장 지향적 분류에 따른 발전방향)

  • There are about 1,500 small or large traditional markets in Korea. Those conventional markets have been struggling for survival in rapidly changing market environment with highly intensified competition by accelerating the entrance of the Large-scale Discount Store and Super Supermarket which are managed and supported by Large companies like Samsung and Lotte. The loosing power of conventional markets have threatened the local merchants' survival and have influenced local economics falling down. To create better value for the customers who have more preference for department store and discount stores than conventional markets, conventional markets should have market orientation, which has three sub dimensions; customer orientation, competitor orientation and inter-functional coordinations. First objective of study is to find the appropriate roles of conventional markets in local areas. Second is to find out the market orientation functions for conventional markets to be survival in local markets in the long terms. Finally, this study will suggest some policies for the appropriate types of successful conventional markets considering various local situations. To achieve those objectives, we did the following procedure. First, we review the previous reports and studies of policies for conventional markets and local economy development, and propose some pros and cons of the previous policies. Secondly, we develop a market orientation framework of conventional markets, in which we suggest the developmental types and functions of market-orientation of conventional markets in accordance with the characteristics of local market and economic conditions of local areas. Then we formulate and discuss the study's contributions, managerial implications, and directions for future policy development. Especially for the policy development, we suggest the efficiency and economical effects of policy, human being development and management system, and the role of government and protection of local merchants in the development process.

  • Depending on the changing business environment in the traditional markets are experiencing a lot of difficulties. In order to enable traditional markets has been to the brink of a variety of studies in progress. Accordingly, the government has a budget to support the massive effort to modernize its traditional markets. However, traditional market is changing, but the bottom line is the actual appearance of solving performance was still little. Based on these issues, awareness of the current research conducted in this desirable market and the traditional market for the traditional differences in the recognition of the discovery. Recognition of these differences based on the traditional attractions market direction and composition of the present strategy.

  • This study aims to assess an effectiveness of the revitalization policy of traditional market which has been put in force since the late 1990's through a case study of Gyeongbuk province in Korea. According to a qualitative assessment of the improvement project of market facilities and the modernization project of marketing technique, each project has little effect. This seems to be caused by the existing revitalization policy without full considerations of reinforcing the spatial competitiveness of traditional markets. This study suggests an alternative of the revitalization policy of traditional markets concentrating on the spatial competitiveness of them.

  • 서민가계 및 지역 공동체와 긴밀히 연계되어 있다고 평가되는 재래시장을 전향적으로 구조조정함으로써 변화된 환경 속에서 경쟁력을 갖추도록 견인할 필요성이 제기된다. 재래시장들은 일반적으로 시설의 현대화, 업종의 전문화 등을 통해 직면한 위기를 극복해 나가려 시도한다. 재래시장 현대화의 가장 모범적인 사례는 서울 동대문 시장일 것이다. 동대문 시 장은 기존의 시설을 현대화하고 업종을 전문화, 특화함으로써 '동대문 시장 신드롬'이라는 성공 신화를 전파하고 있다 본 연구에서는 재래시장(중소상가)이 안고 있는 문제점과 특성을 파악하고 시설의 현대화와 운영의 현대화, 업종의 전문화를 통해 여건을 강춘 진주의 재래시장들을 경쟁력을 갖춘 지역 유 통업체군으로 부흥시킬 수 있는 정책적 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Influence of Merchandise Composition on the Competitiveness for the Korean Open Air Market (재래시장의 상품구성이 재래시장 활성화에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the strategic implication of the Korean open air market by examining the factors affecting their competitiveness. I have undertaken empirical research that uses the methodology of a mixture regression modeling, as a way to ascertain the determinants of competitiveness for the Korean open air market. I construct a mixture regression model which uses the proportions of merchandise categories as explanatory variables and the number of visitors as a dependent variable. The analysis of results show that competitive and non-competitive markets have different proportions of merchandise categories. The finding shows that stock farm products and home appliances are major influencers on the number of visitors in neighborhood markets. The finding also presents that stock farm products and processed foods are major influencers on the number of visitors in small & medium-sized city markets.

  • The conventional sight for a traditional market has been concentrated on modernization of an institution. However, Korea doubt is stated very much whether you can secure competition predominance because a traditional market has appearance as the sale institution which is not inferior to modern shopping mall. Then it is judged to be it the necessity that conceptual justice and function for a traditional market are done of newly. A cultural function showed the traditional markets by accomplishing tradition and a function of a market. Therefore when a traditional market catches a characteristic of a place, I will come to regain original value.

  • 국내 소비시장의 일부분인 재래시장은 현대화와 정보화로 인해 소비자가 감소함에 따라 시설개선, 홍보이벤트 등 외형적인 부분에 중점적으로 변화가 일어나고 있다. 하지만, 소비자들의 편리성을 고려한 서비스에 대해서는 그 대책이 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 재래시장의 활성화를 위하여 이기종 센서 및 RFID 태그를 통해 재래시장의 실시간 정보를 얻고, 이를 소비자 및 판매자의 정보와 함께 규칙/사례기반추론 방식을 이용하여 다양한 맞춤형 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 상황인식 기반의 u-CMIS(ubiquitous-Conventional Market Information System) 모델을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 u-CMIS 모델은 소비자가 재래시장을 효율적으로 이용할 수 있도록 기존의 온라인 마켓과 모바일 온라인마켓을 통해 언제 어디서나 실시간으로 재래시장의 정보 및 맞춤형 서비스를 제공받을 수 있으며, 이를 통해 소비시간을 단축하거나 물품을 저렴하게 구입할 수 있을 것이다.
