  • This study is designed to examine the effects of transformational and transactional leadership on organizational commitment. A survey questionnaire is used to gather the data while judgement sampling was utilized to choose the respondents. The results from the study indicate that transformational leadership is found to positively affect emotional and normative commitment respectively. Using multiple regression, it is also found continuance commitment is not related to transformational and transactional leadership. The study partially supports the model that perceived leadership affects organizational commitment. It is proposed that transactional leadership appears to be a more useful predictor of organizational commitment. Given the findings of this study, firms are provided with insights into how transformational and transactional leadership may contribute to managing workers' organizational commitment.

  • This paper reports on a study testing a model that articulates factors affecting duration of the relationship between exporters and importers. The model posits that affective commitment and calculative commitment influence duration of the relationship. Affective commitment of an importer toward an exporter is hypothesized to be predicted by social satisfaction, which in turn may be predicted by cultural familiarity, perceived similarity, and credibility. In contrast, calculative commitment is hypothesized to be predicted by economic satisfaction, which in turn may be predicted by opportunism and relationship performance. A survey of importers was conducted to test the model. The study results provided support for most of the hypotheses. Theoretical and managerial implications of the study results are discussed too.

For that purpose, the investigator conducted a survey with 333 web novel users. The survey results show that web novel users recorded a high level of flow when they had a challenging spirit and proficiency in the process of using the content. Their high level of flow in web novels had positive impacts on their satisfaction and continued usage intention for web novels. When they were highly satisfied with web novels, they intended to use the content continuously. Those findings indicate that web novel users should be encouraged to have a challenging spirit and proficiency in the content consumption process so that they can develop flow in the content. • Information technology enables home-based working which is a new way to satisfy the firm and its employees. Firms are under pressure of cost reduction, and employees want to maintain balance of life between work and family. Considering the organization's capability can be the core competency, firm's efforts to acquire workers' commitment have been important issue in human resource management. However, researches to increase the workers' loyalty and commitment within home-base working have not been widely studied. This study tries to identify the relationships among firms' rewards supporting strategies and workers' perceived commitment with the working system as a context. Results confirm that the organization's extrinsic and intrinsic rewards affect the worker's continuous commitment, and the mediating role of normative commitment between workers' perceived affective commitment and continuous commitment has been found. Also, we empirically identify the moderating role of working systems(i.e., home-based, vs. office-based) within organization's rewards supporting strategies and workers' commitment perceptions.

Job satisfaction level had a complete mediation effect between reading hours and affective commitment, and satisfaction from social recognition had a complete mediation effect between participation continuity in a reading meeting, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Based on these results, this study suggests a plan for constructing a good environment for employees to read through introducing a reading management as follows. Firstly, managers of public libraries need to take an active interest in reading management and various programs to encourage employees to read need to be provided. Secondly, public libraries are required to encourage their employees' participation in book clubs and support them, so that the employees are able to participate in the book club consistently. Finally, institution-level consistent motivation is needed for an active reading activity.

  • Previous researches of organizational citizenship behavior have been focused mainly on organizations, and there have been only a few studies on the organizational citizenship behavior of nonprofit organizations. In particular, few empirical studies have been made on the relations among variables affecting the organizational citizenship behavior of profit and nonprofit organizations. Thus, this study attempted comparative analysis. According to the result of the analysis, in profit organizations, the fairness of procedure, emotional commitment and continuous commitment had a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior, as well as the fairness of distribution and perception of organizational support. In nonprofit organizations, on the contrary, the fairness of distribution, the fairness of procedure, and perception of organizational support were insignificant, and only emotional commitment and continuous commitment had a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. This study is meaningful in that it comparatively analyzed the effects of organization members' perception of fairness on organizational citizenship behavior in profit and nonprofit organizations, and its outcome may be utilized as a reference in future researches but it has a problem in external validity that poses a limitation in its generalization.
