Design of Data Link Protocol Performance Analysis Tool for Railway Signaling Communication Protocol (철도신호용 통신 프로토콜을 위한 데이터링크 성능분석 툴 설계)

  • 본 논문에서는 신뢰성 있는 통신을 요구하는 철도신호용 정보전송을 위해 설계한 프로토콜과 이 설계된 프로토콜의 데이터 링크제어의 성능분석을 위한 시뮬레이터의 개발에 대해 설명한다. 우선 철도신호용 통신 프로토콜의 성능분석을 위해 Matlab/Simulink 윈도우상의 데이터 링크제어 시스템 화면에서 사용자 인터페이스 블록을 통해 통신 파라미터들을 선택하여 시뮬레이션을 행할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 툴과, Matlab이 제공하는 Rs232통신용API 기능을 이용하여 철도 신호장치간의 통신 프로토콜을 PC상에서 에뮬레이션 할 수 있는 시뮬레이터를 설계하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 미래 철도통신에서 필요로 하는 통신요구사항과 기능에 대해 분석하고, 가장 적합한 통신방식으로 예상되는 LTE 무선통신기술이 분석한 철도통신 요구사항을 만족하는지를 검토하였다. 또한 최근 유럽에서 진행되는 차세대 철도 무선망의 표준화 동향과 구축일정에 대해 설명하고 국내 추진방향을 제안한다.

  • Mobile radio technologies have evolved in the railway industry offering seamless connectivity and various functionalities to improve railway service. Recently, advanced mobile communication technologies have enabled a new level of railway customer services with more efficient railway operation. Since the LTE mobile communication technology offers many benefits and better performance for new railway services, it is considered to be a strong candidate for the future railway mobile telecommunication. However, communication networks in the railway sector are critical for secure operation and have stringent requirements for reliability and safety. In this paper, we explain the requirements for the future railway mobile telecommunication. The LTE, which would be the future railway mobile technology, is analyzed against these requirements. We also introduce the current state of standardization for the future railway mobile telecommunication and its implementation plan.

  • 무선통신에 대한 기술이 급격하게 진화함에 따라, 철도 무선통신도 VHF나 TETRA에서 GSM으로 진보되었고, 현재는 LTE 기반으로 변화하고 있다. 이런 흐름 속에서, 본 고에서는, LTE 로 발전 되는 철도 무선망을 QoS(Quality Of Service) 관리 및 이동통신망 과는 다른 관점에서 철도통신(LTE-Railway)에서 추가되어야 할 요구사항 및 거기에 다른 요소 기술들을 살펴본다. LTE-R 시스템에서는 음성, 영상, 열차제어 등 모든 종류의 진보된 철도 서비스에 대해서 통합된 형태로 안정적이고 신뢰성 있은 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이런 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해서는 일반 이동통신망과는 다른 접근으로 LTE-R을 개발할 필요가 있다. 본 고에서는 LTE 기반 철도통신망과 이동통신망의 다른 요구사항을 기반으로 과 차이점을 QoS(Quality Of Service) 등 철도와 같은 특수 임무형 통신 시스템에서의 요구사항이 적절하고 실용적인지 여부의 검증을 LTE 테스트베드를 실제 철도 영업선 상에 구축을 하고 필드 테스트를 통해서 만족 여부를 검토하였다. 국가적으로 진행되고 있는 LTE 기반 철도 통신망 구축 사업에서 요구하는 통신 기술 사이의 상관관계를 따져봄으로써 LTE-R에서 지원하는 통신 기술이 신뢰도 및 효율성 측면에서 충분한 정도의 기술적인 완성도를 갖추고 있음을 보인다.

  • Since the KTX starts operation in 2004, Korean railway system has sustained the highest safety and accuracy. In order to keep this achievement, the LTE based wireless communication system has been introduced for mobile communications and signal transmission. railway, and activities for its standardization are on the way. Railway communication system will be used as part of national safety net through interworking with safety network. This paper reviews the contents of standards and technologies in an LTE-based railway communication(LTE-R) system, and the items to be standardized to improve operational efficiency of the railway system by building a national railway radio communication system.

  • Currently, railway wireless communication systems adopt several communication schemes depending on the specific region. To increase data rate and achieve high fidelity in railway wireless communication systems, LTE-R scheme has been developed. In this paper, We introduce interoperability technology which converges several railway communication systems including LTE-R. First, we consider two interoperability methods and their standardization. Some empirical test results of interoperability technology are also introduced. It is expected to provide seamless and statable railway communication environments by applying interoperability technologies to railway wireless communication systems.

  • As well as to operate a high-speed rail, our country with capability to produce high-speed train has developed a number of techniques, such as for a riding comfort improvement, automatic diagnosis for major electrical or mechanical parts, on board measurement for catenary systems and noise reduction of running rolling-stocks are still under development. In this paper, we describe the current status of operation technologies not only traditional railway wireless communication systems but also Long Term Evolution systems which would be deployed as soon as possible, like as in Europe, China and the United States. In addition, we produced the domestic wireless communication networks for railway which KORAIL Corp. has been operating and the schemes and the plans of HSR field test for the fourth generation mobile communication which should be enforced by national research and development.

  • One of railway communication technology, LTE(Long Term Evolution) based LTE-R(LTE-Railway) is rapidily adopted to supply various control signal and to supply diverse communication service be needed for safety operation of train. In this paper, railway communication technology and service based on LTE-R is studied. And domestic an international standardization trends of related on railway communications are investigated. Results of this study can be used as basic data for research of railway communication based on LTE-R and development of railway communication systems.
