  • This research is for implementation of a software that can convert Hangul format file to $T_EX$ format file. Hangul is a word processor that has widely been used in Korea. It is known that Hangul is relatively easy of typing in equations and tables in preparing a paper draft. $T_EX$ has been developed as a computer programming language for preparing and publishing documents. Documents are first typed in with a plain text editor with $T_EX$ commands and then is compiled and linked. The software implemented in this research converts Hangul format files which are written under the specific format of a journal to $T_EX$ format file with the given style specific file. It converts special symbols, texts, tables, equations, and paragraph formats. We have used Hangul format of Journal of the Korean Data & Information Science Society (JKDISS) and the style file of $T_EX$ for the beta-test for the software.

  • To create gesture from a new text input is an important problem in computer games and virtual reality. Recently, there is increasing interest in gesture stylization to imitate the gestures of celebrities, such as announcer. However, no attempt has been made so far to stylize a gestures using emotion such as happiness and sadness. Previous researches have not focused on real-time algorithm. In this paper, we present a system to automatically make gesture animation from SMS text and stylize the gesture from emotion. A key feature of this system is a real-time algorithm to combine gestures with emotion. Because the system's platform is a mobile phone, we distribute much works on the server and client. Therefore, the system guarantees real-time performance of 15 or more frames per second. At first, we extract words to express feelings and its corresponding gesture from Disney video and model the gesture statistically. And then, we introduce the theory of Laban Movement Analysis to combine gesture and emotion. In order to evaluate our system, we analyze user survey responses.

  • This paper is for the design and implementation of SGML presentation system to format based on DSSSL (Document style semantics and specification Language). ISO proposed DSSSL as the technological standard for formatting and transforming SGML document. So, the body of this paper shows the design of this system in accordance with the model defined in DSSSL. This system, which is able to provide Korean, has Parsing function of arbitrary DTD, SGML document and DSSSL styles sheet, and contains a formatter that can manage various details, such as table, list, picture and others, as well as text.

  • This paper proposes how to support various media on online conversational activity using XML(extensible Markup Language). The method converts media information into XML based messages and handles alike conventional text based messages. The XML based messages are unified to an XML document, and then a HTML document is generated using the XML and an XSLT documents in a server. A user in each client can play or present media through the hyperlink that is associated media information on the HTML document. The suggested method supports use of various media (text, image, audio, video, documents, etc) and efficient maintenance of font size, color, and style on messages according to extension and modification of XML tags. For application, this paper implemented the system to support media that has client and server architecture on online conversational activity. A user in each client inputs text or media based message using JAVA applet and servlet on the system, and conversational messages on every users' interfaces are automatically updated whenever a user inputs new message. Media on conversational messages are played or presented according to a user's click on hyperlink. Applications for the media presentation are as follows : distance learning, online game, collaboration, etc.
