So many interest and researches in HIS has received the spotlight from the hotel managements. Many researcher about HIS focused on the Critical Success Factors (CSF) from the viewpoint of HIS implementation. At this moment we need also the research about significance change of CSF with the laps of time. This kind of research are very critical for the successful operation of HIS. To achieve the objectives of this paper, the Innovation-Theory of E. M. Roger was implemented. As the result of this research we can get the various maturity point of each CSF with the laps of time. For the data gathering many major hotel in Korea were interviewed, and 84 valid questionaires were used for data analysis. The Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was 0.7239, which means all data were significant.

  • Recently, the Korean Hotel market has expanded to Asia rapidly including China. However Korean hotels' competitiveness has weaken with Korean won's appreciation and increasing real estate cost. To cope with these problems, Korean hotels are varying and differentiating their services and adopting advanced information system such as ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) System. ERP Systems requires large amount of cost and time, otherwise successful implementation is not guaranteed. Thus, It is necessary to analyze critical success factors and calculate effect before investment on the ERP system implementation. In this study, I surveyed a Five-star ranked Hotel, named R. To find a method of investment effect calculation. This research is conducted on the basis of previous studies and AHP(analytic hierarchical process), which is suggested by Saaty. Finally, This study presents a significant method of analysis and calculation on investment effect of Hotel's ERP system based on the Hotel R's case.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the potential asymmetry in price competition between the geographically defined submarkets of the lodging industry, namely the traditional and alternative accommodation facilities. Design/methodology/approach The study utilizes a spatial econometric model to empirically test for the hypothesized asymmetry in price competition. Property-level panel data on hotels and alternative accommodation facilities collected from a major online travel agency (OTA: Agoda.com) was used for this purpose. Findings Result of the analysis shows significant intra-segment spatial price competition among the properties, that is, within hotels and within alternative accommodation submarkets, respectively. However, the inter-segment competition was found to be asymmetric as hypothesized. Room rates of hotels are influenced by prices of geographically close alternative accommodations, but the reverse does not hold. Implications for practitioners and suggestions for future research are discussed along with the findings of the study.
