The Trial Construction of Optimum In-Process Electrolytic Dressing System and the Control Characteristics (최적 연속전해드레싱 시스템의 개발과 제어특성)

  • In recent years, grinding techniques for precision machining of brittle materials used in electric, optical and magnetic parts have been improved by using superabrasive wheel and precision grinding machine. The completion of optimum dressing of superabrasive wheel makes possible the effective precision grinding of brittle materials. But the present dressing system cannot have control of optimum dressing of the superabrasive wheel. This study has proposed a new optimum in-process electrolytic dressing system. This system can carry out optimum in-process dressing of superabrasive wheel, and give very effective control according to gap increase.

In this study, a new system and the grinding mechanism of optimum in-process electrolytic dressing were proposed. This system can carry out optimum in-process dressing of superabrasive wheel, and give very effective control according to unstable current and gap increase. Therefore, the optimum in-process electrolytic dressing is a good method to obtain the efficiency and mirror-like grinding of brittle materials.

  • 세라믹, 다이야몬드등과 같은 고경질재료에 대한 미소형상의 가공은 대단히 어렵고 일반적인 방법으로는 상당한 시간을 요구한다. 이러한 재료의 고능률 가공을 실현하기 위하여, 메탈본드 다이야몬드휠에 전해 인프로세스 드레싱(Electrolytic In-Process Dressing)을 적용한 연삭을 머시닝센타에서 시도하였다 본 연구에서, 메탈본드 다이야몬드휠은 전기방전에 의하여 고능률로 트루잉(truing)되었다. 알루미나 세라믹의 핀선단($\phi$50$\mu\textrm{m}$)과 로커웰 경도측정기의 다이야몬드 압입자(indenter)($\phi$40$\mu\textrm{m}$)를 ELID연삭에 의하여 창성하였다. 그 결과를 본 논문에서 보고한다.

Grinding Characteristic of Hard Disk Glass by Glass by ELLD Grinding

  • In this paper, we discuss the machining characteristics of HDD glass. Glass is now being used globally as a data storage device, Such glasses are usually machined by lapping by this technique requires a long machining time, resulting in low productivity, For this reason, we examine the possibility of EILD grinding in HDD glass workpieces, A move to ELID grinding may result in substantial cost reduction. Our purpose is to investigate the grinding characteristics of HDD glass in ELID grinding. The bonding materials for fixing the abrasives of cast iron, cobalt and bronze are applied, and grinding conditions such as rotation speed and feeding are varied. Results show that with the use of ELID, mirror surfaces can be achieved with high efficiency.
