  • The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of career locus of control on university students' career decision efficacy. For this purpose, it performed a questionnaire survey analysis on 476 university students in I city. According to the results of the analysis, the first is that there were not the statistically significant differences of career locus of control and career decision efficacy for subjects' background variables. The second is that it found the statistically significant co-relationship between career locus of control and career decision efficacy. Lastly, it found that career locus of control has positive effect on career decision efficacy. Given the results of the analysis, the inner career locus factors of control have strong effects on career search and career decision, and career decision efficacy played an important role on career related decision making and career coaching. In this point, it is required to perform more studies and analyses on career locus of control and career decision efficacy and on various career coaching programs in the future.

  • Multi-valued decision making for transitional stochastic events was newly derived based on conditional probability of database. The two values (on-off) decision making method without transition had been proposed by one of the author in a previous work for a purpose of realizing human on-off decision making. The current method is an extension of the previous on-off decision making. By combining the conditional probability and the transitional probability, the closed form of the algorithm for the multi-valued transitional decision making was derived. The proposed multi-valued decision making was successfully applied to the determination of the five levels of the vigilance of a subject during the EEG recording; awake stage, drowsy stage and sleeping stages (stage 1, stage 2/3, REM (rapid eye movement)). The method for determining the vigilance level can be directly usable for the two purposes; selection of awake EEG segments for automatic EEG interpretation, and determination of sleep stages through sleep EEG. The proposed multi-valued decision making with a mathematical background of the probability can be applicable widely, in industries and in medical fields for purposes of the multi-valued decision making.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of case-base learning (CBL) using video on clinical decision-making and learning motivation. Methods: This research was conducted between June 2009 and April 2010 as a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. The study population was 44 third year nursing students who enrolled in a college of nursing, A University in Korea. The nursing students were divided into the CBL and the control group. The intervention was the CBL with three cases using video. The controls attended a traditional live lecture on the same topics. With questionnaires objective clinical decision-making, subjective clinical decision-making, and learning motivation were measured before the intervention, and 10 weeks after the intervention. Results: Significant group differences were observed in clinical decision-making and learning motivation. The post-test scores of clinical decision-making in the CBL group were statistically higher than the control group. Learning motivation was also significantly higher in the CBL group than in the control group. Conclusion: These results indicate that CBL using video is effective in enhancing clinical decision-making and motivating students to learn by encouraging self-directed learning and creating more interest and curiosity in learning.

  • Cumulative sum (CUSUM) control charts are widely used in industry for the statistical process control. The statistical design procedure in CUSUM charts tells how to choose the decision interval value. The decision interval is primarily determied by the desired in - control ARL - that is, by the acceptable frequency of false out-of-control signals. In this paper we propose a new approximation method for calculating the ARL and determining the decision interval. The performance of the proposed method is examined by evaluating the accuracy of estimated ARLs and decision intervals in normal and exponential cases.

  • Multi-valued decision making for transitional stochastic events was newly derived based on conditional probability of knowledge database which included experts'knowledge and experience. The proposed multi-valued decision making was successfully adopted to the determination of the five levels of the vigilance of a subject during the EEG (electroencephalogram) recording; awake stage (stage W), and sleep stages (stage REM (rapid eye movement), stage 1, stage 2, stage $\sfrac{3}{4}$). Innovative feature of the proposed method is that the algorithm of decision making can be constructed only by use of the knowledge database, inspected by experts. The proposed multi-valued decision making with a mathematical background of the probability can also be applicable widely, in industries and in other medical fields for purposes of the multi-valued decision making.

  • In this study, college students, the nature of the locus of control type determines that they affect about career decision making. For this purpose I a systematic and comprehensive study to literature research and empirical research. This research topics and research model based on the hypothesis set and set the hypothesis verified results to the following conclusions were able to elicit. Internals types influence that they showed a positive impact in reasonable career decision making type. Externals types influence that they showed a positive impact in intuitive, dependent career decision making type. The summarized facts, as above, may be empirical analysis results that may be advised during the career decision making of college students, and will be data which will propose a new direction in the career decision making of college students also.

  • It is proposed, for fuzzy combustion control system of refuse incinerator to find the relationship between inputs and outputs and to generate rules to control by using rough set theory. It is not easy to find out the corresponding inputs for each output and the control rules with incomplete or imprecise information consisting expert knowledge, process and manipulator values in the field, and operation manual for the given system. Most decision problems can be formulated employing decision table formalism. A decision table on fuzzy combustion control system for refuse incinerator is simplified and produces control(rules). The I/O realtions and the control rules found by rough set theory are compared with the previous result.

  • We consider discrete-time factorial Markov Decision Processes (MDPs) in multiple decision-makers environment for infinite horizon average reward criterion with a general joint reward structure but a factorial joint state transition structure. We introduce the "localization" concept that a global MDP is localized for each agent such that each agent needs to consider a local MDP defined only with its own state and action spaces. Based on that, we present a gradient-ascent like iterative distributed algorithm that converges to a local optimal solution of the global MDP. The solution is an autonomous joint policy in that each agent's decision is based on only its local state.cal state.

  • To cope with the complex electromagnetic environment of wireless communication systems, anti-jamming decision methods are necessary to keep the reliability of communication. Basing on the rule-reduced genetic algorithm (RRGA), an anti-jamming decision method is proposed in this paper to adapt to the fast channel variations. Firstly, the reduced decision rules are obtained according to the rough set (RS) theory. Secondly, the randomly generated initial population of the genetic algorithm (GA) is screened and the individuals are preserved in accordance with the reduced decision rules. Finally, the initial population after screening is utilized in the genetic algorithm to optimize the communication parameters. In order to remove the dependency on the weights, this paper deploys an anti-jamming decision objective function, which aims at maximizing the normalized transmission rate under the constraints of minimizing the normalized transmitting power with the pre-defined bit error rate (BER). Simulations are carried out to verify the performance of both the traditional genetic algorithm and the adaptive genetic algorithm. Simulation results show that the convergence rates of the two algorithms increase significantly thanks to the initial population determined by the reduced-rules, without losing the accuracy of the decision-making. Meanwhile, the weight-independent objective function makes the algorithm more practical than the traditional methods.

  • Investors from the whole world are looking for those stock markets that are less affected by interest rates. Pakistan is a good place to invest and the investors from the whole world are considering Pakistan for future ventures. The current study, therefore, aims to analyze the factors affecting investors' decision making in Pakistan with the interaction effect of locus of control. The primary data are gathered from 300 respondents. Structural equation modelling (SEM-PLS) is used to analyze the interactions among variables. The study finds positive impact of availability and representative biases on investment decision making. The study could not find any moderating role of locus of control. The results imply that decisions made by Pakistani investors are driven by the most easily or currently available information and they trust on the information obtained from family and friends without any authentication and verification. One possible description of insignificant moderation effect of locus of control can be the sample traits used in the study, e.g., personal characteristics, that change from culture to culture. Another description of these findings may be the association between heuristic biases, including availability, representative and psychological biases and decision-making regarding investment is not personality specific.
