In this paper, a BPF with a dual mode folded ring resonator is presented. The dual mode ring resonator is also exactly analyzed by using Y-parameter method, in which the difference in admittance of two lines make the ring resonator work as a dual mode resonator. The proposed BPF has an advantage of small size compared to conventional one with dual mode ring resonator.

We derived Stop-and-go normalized DD, dual-mode normalized Sato, dual-mode NCMA blind equalization algorithm for complex data in this research. And then, the convergence characteristics of the proposed SG-NDD, dual-mode NSato blind equalization algorithms are compared with those of SG-DD, dual-mode Sato algorithms. In general, the normalized blind equalization algorithms have better convergence characteristics than the conventional algorithms.

The preliminary test for the dual mode plasma torch system was carried out to explore the operation properties in advance. The dual mode plasma torch system that is able to operate in transferred, non-transferred, or dual mode is very adequate for melting the mixed wastes including nonconductive materials such as concrete, asbestos, etc. since it exploits both the high efficiency of heat transfer to the melt in transferred mode and stable operation in non-transferred mode. Also, system operation including restarting is reliable and very easy. A stationary melter with a refractory structure was designed and manufactured considering the melting behavior of slags to minimize the refractory erosion. The power supply for the dual mode plasma torch system built with high power insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) modules has functions for both current control and voltage control and is sufficient to suppress the harmonics during the operation of the plasma torch. The power supply provides two different voltages for transferred operation and non-transferred. It is confirmed that the operation voltage in transferred is always higher than non-transferred. The dual mode plasma torch system was successfully developed and is under operation for a melting experiment to optimize operation data.

The authors propose a novel dual mode liquid crystal display (LCD) which has both dynamic and memory operating LCD modes. The mode uses a horizontal switching and bistable chiral splay nematic (BCSN) LCD. The proposed dual mode does not require pixeldivision and has a higher aperture ratio and resolution than the previously proposed dual mode. Experimental results of the memory and dynamic mode show a high contrast ratio of over 100:1.

In this paper an elliptic response dual-mode 4-pole bandpass filter was designed, manu-factured, and tested. A dual-mode filter having two stages cascaded double-tuned cavities which are resonant in two independent orthogonal TE113 circular-cavity modes and provide a bandpass response. A 4-pole dual-mode elliptic function bandpass filter has a center frequency of 14.022 GHz with a bandwidth of 36 MHz which is the first channel of the KOREASAT up-link frequency. The measured experimental results of a dual-mode filter are 1 dB insertion loss in the passband and 20 dB out-of-rejection.

A dual-mode laser terahertz source consisting of two in-line distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser diodes (LD) is proposed. It is less susceptible to residual reflections from facets than an in-line dual-mode distributed feedback (DFB) LD. The characteristics of the proposed terahertz source are theoretically investigated using a split-step time-domain simulation. It is shown that terahertz waves of frequencies from 385 GHz to 1725 GHz can be generated by appropriate thermal tuning of two DBR LDs. The dual-mode DBR LD terahertz source exhibits good spectral quality for residual facet reflectivity below 0.02, but facet reflectivity of the in-line dual-mode DFB LD terahertz source should be below 0.002 to provide similar spectral quality.

The electronically controlled diesel engine was converted to dual fuel engine system. Test engine was set up for investigating the power output, thermal efficiency and emissions. ND 13-mode tests were employed for the engine test cycle. The emission result of dual fuel mode meets Euro-4 (K2006) regulation and the engine performance of dual fuel engine was comparable to the performance of diesel engine. To estimate economical efficiency, test vehicles have been operated on a certain driving route repeatedly. Fuel economy, maximum driving distance per refueling and driveability were examined on the road including free ways. Developed vehicle can be operated over 500 km with dual fuel mode and shows 80% of diesel substitution ratio. Driveability of dual fuel mode is similar with that of diesel mode.

Dual Mode Trailer(DMT) systems are significantly considered as future transportation technique particularly to eliminate complicated job process in the railroad based transportation and reduce relevant logistic cost in economic viewpoint. This paper presents survey of Dual Mode Trailer(DMT) systems in terms of technical applicability in domestic industry, technical trends, etc. We provide several DMT systems addressed until now and propose suitable framework of them to our nation.

Many researches about next generation vehicles are trending toward HEV which has better fuel economy than an internal-combustion engine. But existing HEV has some defects at specific running states(eg. highway running It is possible that dual-mode hybrid system overcomes that defects. Mode change parameter, ${\gamma}$ helps to analyse the mode changing of dual mode hybrid and is applied at a numerical analysis on testing the performance. There is an additional constraint when vehicles drive on engine mode. No power assistance of battery applies on engine mode. Because vehicles must be sustained by only engine power while vehicle drives on constant speed mode. At the conclusion of this paper, graphs show the ability of motors that satisfy the equilibrium of the lever system. Designers can roughly determine capacities of the motors, parameters of the lever system by this analysing method.

Due to the complex arrangement of frequency plans and spatial overages in modern satellite communications, channels that are non-contiguous in frequency may be amplified by a single power amplifier and transmitted to the ground through one beam. In this paper, a dual-mode canonical filter with dual-passband is presented. The filter adopts dual-mode technique for mass and volume reduction. Canonical structure is adopted for maximum transmission zero realization. To validate the design technique, a 6-pole dual-mode canonical dual-passband filter for Ka-band(30/20 ㎓) satellite transponder is realized. The measured frequency response of the filter shows good agreement with the computed one.
