  • This study tries to suggest a program that the function of a campus can be extended to its community and to be decentralized. This sort of program should be applied to the community without any trouble and be an integration type which the campus members can use actively. To make this possible we observe the activity patterns of the campus members and try to understand the motivation of the activity choice. Finally we deduce the campus activity core. Also, based on understanding the community closed to the campus, we find out what campus can contribute as a community member, not an isolated campus. Through this, the study suggests a program that community and campus devise the growth together as a companion and finally be able to extend its main functions to the community.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the eco-friendly values of the elderly. Specific objectives of this study were 1) to survey the eco-friendly levels of the elderly, 2) to find out related variables of the eco-friendly values of the elderly 3) to suggest to develop the eco-friendly values of the elderly for volunteer activity of environmental problem solutions. Two hundred eight elderly persons in the region of Cheong-ju(Chung-cheong Buk Do) were selected, and questionnaire was utilized for collecting data. The results were as follows: The eco-friendly levels of the elderly were relatively high and differed significantly according to educational level, health status, religion, participating volunteer activity and life satisfaction. The significant independent variables influencing the eco-friendly values of the elderly were educational level, health status, religion, participating volunteer activity, and life satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, voluntarism of the elderly provides the solution of environmental problem and life satisfaction, self development for the elderly.

  • We developed the novel coursework of 'NIE community activity teaching-learning plan' in the unit of 'Clothing Life' of the 7th 'Technology-Home Economics' curriculum and applied it to classes in the middle school. The educational themes of 'Textile and Cloth', 'Purchase, Usage and Storage of Clothes', 'Laundry of Clothes', Recycling and Disposal of Clothes' were extracted from ten kinds of textbooks. And eight lessons of NIE community activity teaching-learning plan were developed. Ninety-seven students at second grade in 3 classes of the middle school were randomly enrolled in this study. After learning, their environmental recognition and educational interest and attitude on the class of NIE community activity were investigated. The general environmental recognition of most students was improved via NIE community activity, which is emphasizing on the analysis of articles of newspapers, the critical and creative thinking, and the mutual discussion. The environmental recognition related to 'Textile and Cloth', 'Purchase, Usage and Storage of Clothes', 'Laundry of Clothes', Recycling and Disposal of Clothes' was significantly improved. Educational interest and attitude on the class of NIE community activity were also improved of great significance. The novel contents and methods of NIE community activity were evaluated to help students understand the class better and enhance their environmental recognition higher. With these results, NIE community activity teaching-learning plan might not only improve the educational interest and attitude, but also enhance the environmental recognition of the students.

  • In this paper, we propose to investigate the existing SW education related studies and to collect the total effect size for the improvement of computational thinking(CT) through meta-analysis and to confirm the effect size according to various variables. So, we have objectively identified and generalized the practical effects of SW education on the various variable. The results of the meta-analysis showed that 1) the overall effect of SW educational activities on CT improvement was 'Hedges' g=0.643', so SW educational activity can get a CT improvement of about 24% over other educational activities. 2) EPL is a SW teaching-learning method that greatly improves students' CT. 3) Since SW education can be guaranteed to improve CT among elementary school students and university students, essential SW education for these should be further promoted. And it was found that SW education activity were more effective for CT improvement in small cities & rural areas than big cities, but the cause was not identified, so further study will be required.

  • There have been many attempts to determine the value and the role of school laboratory experiment, but it seems hard to find consensus among these attempts from the perspective of education. This difficulty seems mainly due to disagreement on the concept of education, which has caused an instrumental attitude considering the school laboratory only as a means of developing science or pursuing various functions of school. However, the Endogenous Theory of Education (ETE), which claims education as 'a form of life', has recently paved the way for laboratory experiment to be justified as an opportunity of 'educooperation' allowing students to experience the intrinsic values of education in the medium of science. According to this theory, it is not the detailed practicals but the whole context where the laboratory activity is situated that matters in revealing the inherent educational phenomena. Through this new perspective, I observed two biology laboratory classes in a high school and analyzed the pattern of teacher-student and student-student interactions. Some meaningful educooperation was found in students' chattering, which has been traditionally considered as merely noise in the classroom, rather than in teacher-student interactions. This study discusses the reasons for these findings in detail and culminates in suggesting ways for accentuating the educational aspect of school laboratory activity.

The subjects were 45 patients who experienced open heart surgery and 29 nurses who taking care of these patients in chest surgery ward at Seoul National University Hospital. The Data were analyzed by T-test and One Way ANOVA according to dependent variables. The result were as follows 1. There are significant difference between educational needs, assessed by nurses and patients themselves. (p<0.05) The nurses reported higher score of educational needs than patients. 2. In comparison of content area of educational needs, there was significant difference according to respiratory care, fain, chest tube care and operation including heart function between two groups. But, there was no significant difference in diet, activity, complication, emotional care and medication between two groups. 3. The priorities in content area of educational needs rated by nurses and patients were similar.

The subjects were mothers (N=127) in Choongbuk Province who had had volunteer education as a teacher assistant. The data were collected by their completing a questionnaire about Parenting efficacy and a Parent As A Teacher inventory (PAAT). The results include as follows: firstly, in PTV's parenting efficacy, 'the type of educational institution children are attending' is an important variable. Secondly, 'mother's educational background', 'father's educational background', and 'the type of educational institution children attending' are important variables in volunteer parents' parenting practices. Besides, 'mother's educational background' and 'participation motivation in volunteer activity' are important variables in parenting practices of 'control/permission' and of 'teaching/learning', and in general parenting practices. Finally, 'parenting efficacy', 'mother's educational background', and 'the sex of children' are important variables in volunteer teachers' parenting practices.
