  • Intelligence is thought to be related to interaction rather than a deep but passive thinking. Interactive tangible media "iT_Media" is proposed to explore these issues. Personal robotics is a major area to investigate these ideas. A new design methodology for personal and emotional robotics is proposed. Sciences of the artificial and intelligence have been investigated. A short history of artificial intelligence is presented in terms of logic, heuristic, and mobility; a science of intelligence is presented in terms of imitation and understanding; intelligence issues for robotics and intelligence measures are described. A design methodology for personal robots based on science of emotion is investigated. We investigate three different aspects of design: visceral, behavioral, reflective. We also discuss affect and emotion in robots, robots that sense emotion, robots that induce emotion in people, and implications and ethical issues of emotional robots. Personal robotics for the elderly seems to be a major area in which to explore these ideas.

  • In virtual environments, such as computer game and animation, we need to enhance naturalness of crowd simulation. So, we propose a method to generate dynamically moving crowd patterns by applying emotional factors to the individual characters of a crowd in the determination of their behavior. The proposed method mimics human behavior and controls each character in a group to decide its own path according to its individual status. And it is able to generate various moving patterns as a result of letting the individuals go to another group depending upon their conditions. In this paper, some temperament and feeling factors are defined and determination rules for calculating the emotional status are also proposed. Moreover we use a fuzzy theory for accurate representation of the ambiguous expressions such as feeling bad, feeling good and so on. Our experiments show that the suggested method can simulate virtual crowd in more natural and diverse ways.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the optimal model to explain safety behavioral intention according to the recognition of safety communication in cabin through comparison of Planned behavioral theory and Triandis' theory of interpersonal behavior. In order to accomplish the study purpose, research model and hypothesis were established based on the previous research. As a result of the analysis, it was found that attitude and Perceived Behavioral Control had a positive effect on the safety behavioral intention. Triandis theory shows that social factors and habits have a positive impact on safety behavioral intention. In addition, A comparison of the two models confirms that both psychological processes of recognition and emotion are accompanied by the relationship between safety information awareness and safety behavioral intention.

  • Home appliance proposes the experience of new lifestyle to consumers, together with digital technology-applied highly advanced functions, beyond its natural quality like the basic function of reducing the burden of housework. However, under the current circumstances that populations are rapidly aging, the number of elderly consumers, who feel it inconvenient to smoothly use even the basic function of home appliance, is increasing in proportion to populations. Therefore, the necessity for developing home appliance with improved usability in consideration of the elderly is rising up. This study analyzed the elderly's pattern of using home appliance and illustrated the procedure of their using home appliance, putting its focus on the home appliance that the elderly highly depend on in keeping their daily life and that they feel it inconvenient to control. And based on the illustrated procedure, this paper substituted various kinds of home appliance that were not surveyed by this study and found out 4 user behavioral models for home appliance. Same as the concept of universal design, product designs, which are convenient to use by the elderly whose physical functions are reduced, are expected acceptable to various user classes. The found user behavioral models purport to give references to design process for product planning and design solutions.

  • This study examines married couples' forgiveness and forgiveness process in order to provide basic information related to married couples' forgiveness and to identify significant variables through analyzing socio-demographic characteristics affecting forgiveness and what influences the forgiveness process variables. Based on the study, the conclusions are as follows: First, men are affected by personal and intrinsic factors and women are affected by the other person's factor in the forgiveness. Married couples all expect that self-growth and the recovery of negative emotion occur through forgiveness. It indicates that the forgiveness contains a strong selfish character and not an altruistic character for others. Second, married couples experience hurt in the martial relationship due to problems caused by relationships with the husband's family, wife's family, and relatives. There is a significant difference between men and women in the period of problem occurrence, period of worry, seriousness degree of the problem, intention status of the problem, hurt degree, unfairness status of hurt, unfairness degree of hurt, and locus of control. Third, men's forgiveness level is higher in emotional forgiveness, cognitive forgiveness, and behavioral forgiveness. Among them, there is the biggest difference of cognitive forgiveness between men and women. Also, the variable affecting forgiveness is different between men and women.

  • This study examined the difference between parents' and teachers' recognition about problem behaviors of children. The findings showed that there was a distinct difference between parents' and teachers' recognition about all problem behaviors of children. Especially, teachers had more recognition about problem behaviors of children than parents. And the reactive interaction and the actual prevention in educational institutions were preferred in the difference between parents' and teachers' recognition about a teaching strategy for children, such that teachers had significantly higher recognition about a teaching strategy for children than parents did, while there was no significant difference in the strategy for social emotion. This means that teachers should originally control and manage various problem behaviors based on the common teaching strategy, which is socio-emotionally recognized, rather than the biased teaching strategy. But the teaching strategy of reactive interaction is preferred in accordance with the type of problem behaviors between teachers and children and the children who show problem behaviors. Especially, teaching strategies of reactive interaction and actual prevention focused on the inhibition and prevention of children's problem behaviors are preferred in light of children's characteristics of many unexpected problem behaviors.
