  • Information and communication brings us some degree of convenient but also serious side effects. Especially, information and communication ethics is an important issue for elementary school children who are early stage in moral value. This paper proposes a triple-connected teaching and learning model. which can be applied to the elementary school children. in order to improve the educational level. The model is formed by selecting three discretionary teaching models, and applying independently them into the different classes with linking the contents for each class. A teacher can choose the teaching models based on what he wants to teach. Caring model, Home-Connected model and Simulation model were linked in our experiment. Experiments were conducted in the same condition but different learning models, Then, an educational effect was compared and analyzed in the educational level improvement point of view, between the Triple-connected teaching and learning model and the single teaching and learning model.

  • Failure is an important part of engineering practice. Engineers utilize all of their competences and resources in order for their products or processes to meet the initial intention and purpose, and not to fail. However, the technological products sometimes end up with failure. The failure, in many cases, is related to non-technological factors or systems, not just limited to technological factors. Moreover, the evaluation of failure is performed by a variety of agents, including consumers, civic groups, government as well as professional groups. Thus, this study raises an issue that the existing concept of failure, which focuses on the operation of function, is not sufficient enough to properly cover the success or failure of technology required by the modern society. In the recent trends of engineering, new concepts and methods have been developed by expanding the traditional concept or introducing a new perspective of failure, so that engineering failure can be better understood in the mutual relationship between technology and society. This research attempts to suggest a methodology of how the failure of engineering can be utilized and properly combined in the major education, design education and engineering ethics education. Also, it aims to contribute to the quality improvement of engineering education to train engineers who can lead the society with responsibility as well as professional competence.

  • This is the development of educational content that provides online ethical education to adolescents. Internet oriented education content is not only limited by time and place, but also enables students to do self-motivated study. In addition, it is not unilateral education in which teachers only give lectures but also requires students to seek for information so that they can interact with teachers. Therefore, in this paper, we are going to observe the basic concept and principle of information communication ethnical education, educational contents and how to do self-motivated study to reveal the necessity of implementing educational content. This course of education is compared and analyzed to preceding studies on which online educational contents are established.

  • The economic depression during the last decade of the 20th century caused various drastic changes in the social structure, including employment and educational systems. Japanese universities have devoted much effort to research activity and the development of teaching methodology for engineering education was not a major effort for professors. Decrease of 18 years old population, however, forced universities to change this attitude. University education is no more for only elite but is becoming very popular among young people. Another impact came from the 'globalization'of industrial societies such as establishment of WTO and APEC. Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE) was established to cope with both domestic and international problems in 1999, and JABEE was admitted as a full signatory member of the Washington Accord in 2005. The Professional Engineer Law was amended linked with JABEE. The importance of engineering ethics has been recognized with these social structure changes. Japanese Society for Engineering Education (JSEE) is contributing for reformation of Japanese engineering education through its activities including supporting JABEE. This paper describes the problems now Japanese engineering education is facing and the role of JSEE in order to reorganize the engineering education in Japan.

  • The harm caused by the opposite function of information and communication has also done increasing with making use of internet more spread. Especially the information and communication are even used as new criminal methods in the society. The objective of this study is to find the orientation on the ethics education of information and communication through the opinion of the undergraduate students who lead the culture of internet for suggestion of the target to raise the upright and sound members of society as well as to solve the above such problems and to establish the desirable model of the ethics. From the questionnaire result by the undergraduate students of S University, students in the field of Humanities and Social Science need the education against the opposite function of information and communication and also the education of netiquette of conscience and moral. In case of opinions in the field of Science and Engineering, the result shows that the students have the opinion on the necessity of the professional education to deal with the opposite function to information and communication as well as the education for upgrade of ability to make use of expert knowledge of information and communication toward the positive side. Finally, the students in the field of Medicine show that they have also the opinion to deal with the opposite function of information and communication. • With the rising interest in intelligence information technology built on artificial intelligence and big data technologies, all countries in the world including advanced countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and so on, have launched national investment programs in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution centered on the software industry. Our country belatedly recognized the importance of software and initiated the 2015 revised educational curriculum for elementary and secondary informatics subjects. This paper thoroughly analyzes the new educational curriculum for information science in high schools and, then, suggests improvements in the areas of information ethics and multimedia. The analysis of the information science curriculum is applied to over twenty science high schools and schools for gifted children, which are expected to play a leading role in scientific research in our country. In the future artificial intelligence era, in which our dependence on information technology will be further increased, information ethics education for talented students who will play the leading role in making and utilizing artificial intelligence systems should be strongly emphasized, and the focus of their education should be different from that of the existing system. Also, it is necessary that multimedia education centered on digital principles and compression techniques for images, sound, videos, etc., which are commonly used in real life, should be included in the 2015 revised educational curriculum. In this way, the goal of the 2015 revised educational curriculum can be achieved, which is to encourage innovation and the efficient resolution of problems in real life and diverse academic fields based on the fundamental concepts, principles and technology of computer science.

  • This paper investigates conditions, issues, and themes in the social responsibility of scientists and engineers by the examination of various materials in science and technology studies(STS). Firstly, the institutionalization of science and technology in society works as a objective conditions for the responsibility of scientists and engineers. Secondly, discussion on scientists and engineers as professionals should be complemented by focusing on the public character of science and technology. Thirdly, various social relevant groups should be comprehensively considered in the ethical conflicts of scientists and engineers. Finally, this paper suggests some themes in science and engineering ethics to strengthen the social responsibility of scientists and engineers.

  • The purpose of this study is to survey on the engineer's sense of value. For this, we analyzed the ethic code of the engineer relation groups and executed the survey of consulting committee. The subjects of analysis were six associations related to engineer, and analysis of the ethics was done on the basis of 'four levels of engineer's ethics or sense of value'. The subjects of survey were 57 professions. The ethic code shows the most important engineer's sense of value is dignity maintenance, development of individual and social welfare as well as public service. The survey shows the most important sense of value when engineer make decisions at the present is practicality and economical efficiency. And it shows the most important sense of value when engineer make decisions in the future is practicality and economical efficiency.
