  • This study investigated how the image exaggeration influence consumer attitude toward product in mobile shopping. Image exaggeration was manipulated by adding light effects on image and adjusting the width for slender mirror effect. Subjects were randomly allocated to four mock-mobile website stimuli. The overall results showed that the image exaggeration had negative effect on product attitude mediated by diagnositicity. First, the mediation effect of diagnositicity between exaggeration and product attitude was tested by bootstap method. The diagnositicity fully mediated between two variables and exaggeration had negative total effect on diagnositicity. The image exaggeration had no direct effect on product attitude. Second, to test the moderating effect of image congruence between the image exaggeration and diagnositicity, conditional indirect effect of diagnositicity was analyzed. As a result, the moderating effect of image congruence was significant. When consumers perceived high self-image congruence with picture image on mobile website, the exaggeration had no negative effect on product attitude. This indicates self-image congruence counteracts the negative effect of the exaggeration on diagositicity. And the moderating effect of image aesthetics between the image exaggeration and product attitude was examinated by the conditional direct effect model. The analysis found that image aesthetics had significant moderating effects particularly on high or low levels of aesthetics. When image aesthetics was perceived as high, image exaggeration had negative effect on product attitude, whereas image aesthetics was low, image exaggeration had positive effect on product attitude. This result indicated that the positive exaggeration effects existed when images were aesthetically appealing.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the clothing component information and attributes as the control parameters for the 3D modeling process of the biomorphic clothing sculpture using a parametric methodology. The 3D modeling parameters of biomorphic clothing sculpture were identified as exaggerated silhouette, surface texture, and digital color. The types of exaggerated silhouettes were shoulder and hip exaggeration, shoulder exaggeration, hip exaggeration, vertical exaggeration, and horizontal exaggeration. The types of surface texture were embossed, lacy, furry, and complex textures. The types of digital color were chrome, blur, blend, and acid colors. The characteristics of morphological representation due to the attributes of these control variables were identified as morphological variation, organic morphology, organizational morphology, and realistic morphology. As a result, it was found that the parameter attributes were applied to the biomorphic clothing sculpture parametric design process and developed into various shapes.

  • The formative exaggeration phenomenon, which makes the plastic space, escaping from the form peculiar to the human body, is being developed into the more diversified and abstract structure. This study analyzed the form and shape of costumes with objective attitude through the use of an oppositional concept method, which Delong presented from the formative viewpoint. Delong's theory, which was presented in this study, can be said to be one index that analyzed the form and shape of costumes. The costumes of the Renaissance Era, in which formative exaggeration is remarkable, are determinate in that they are closed and static, and can be classified into part, planer separation, and flat. The costumes of the Baroque and Rococo Eras are divided into similar formative perspectives, and can be said to be open, whole, and integrated due to indeterminate and diverse decorations. Entering modern times, the formative-exaggeration phenomenon in costumes of the Romantic Era are characterized by closed, part, and planer separation similar to costumes of the Renaissance Era. However, in the aspect of sleeve design and decoration, the characteristics of determinate and indeterminate were considered.

As the desire for aesthetic expression grows greater today, we tended to focus on the exaggerative expression as a means to acquire other's attention and praise. Also people more actively express their own intention or opinion in an exaggerated manner. To do so, the exaggerative features of modern fashion have been analyzed, and the social and cultural meaning of those have been examined through the background of the times and aesthetic sense. The formative form in the exaggerative expression shown in the modern fashion was classified into a body priority type emphasizing woman's body contour, a body disregarded type shown oversized silhouette regardless of body contour and a body distorted type expressing free and diverse form in various shapes of asymmetry and imbalance. The symbolic meanings of those include the changing of the body consciousness and the notions of feminity, and the desire fur formative and playable expression. The exaggeration of the costume in history meant aesthetic value of the woman's body in the society led by men. Traditional key-frame animation techniques allow to control exaggeration and comicality of characters at animators' wills. But, recently introduced motion capture techniques have limits on representing comicality and exaggeration although it is convenient to capture subjects' natural looks. This paper chooses two animations from key-frame and motion capture techniques and looks into comicality and exaggeration of characters by analyzing movements and motion of them Movements are classified as four fundamental motion elements - running, jump, gesture and walking - and are analyzed to compare the way of representation from two films. By studying similarity and differentiation of movements of two films, this paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of key-frame and motion capture techniques in terms of exaggeration and comicality. Comparison of the character movements from two techniques shows that there are common differentiations of those movements.
