  • In this paper, we present a perspective of the next generation mobile communication services and its characteristics. As a preliminary research work on the next generation mobile communications and services, we exploit the next generation mobile services [1]. We define the next generation mobile services as strata of services consisting of three different service levels, the service areas, the service functionalities, and the service technologies. We derive these service levels by means of the scenario based analysis. Finally, we propose a conceptual network architecture that can support the next generation mobile services by placing network functions and service elements within the network.

  • In this paper, a protection system using a Multi-Agent concept for power distribution networks is proposed. Every digital over current relay(OCR) is developed as an agent by adding its own intelligence, self-tuning and communication ability. The main advantage of the Multi-Agent concept is that a group of agents work together to achieve a global goal which is beyond the ability of each individual agent. In order to cope with frequent changes in the network operation condition and faults, an OCR agent, suggested in this paper, is able to detect a fault or a change in the network and find its optimal parameters for protection in an autonomous manner considering information of the whole network obtained by communication between other agents. Through this kind of coordination and information exchanges, not only a local but also a global protective scheme is completed. Simulations in a simple distribution network show the effectiveness of the suggested protection system.

  • Wind farm paralleled with electric power network can supply the power into a power network not only the normal conditions, but also the fault conditions of distribution network. If the fault happened in the power line with wind farm, the fault current level measured in a relaying point might be lower than that of distribution network without wind turbine generator. Consequently, it is difficult to detect the fault happened in the distribution network connected with wind generator. This paper describes the influence of wind turbine generator on the protective relaying system for detecting the fault occurred in a power line network. Simulation results shows that the fault current depends on the fault impedance, location, and the capacity of wind farm and distribution network load.

  • The next generation network preparation of stock computer network designated to facilities and goal facilities-based national main information communication certainly necessary for 'national competitiveness enhancement and national economic strength elevations'. This paper studies current government policy and network, security and securities computer network, and substitute for securities computer network-based the existing SONET/SDH, and next generation securities computer network designs so as to provide ALL-IP service-based MPLS for international GMG service. Set up stability, standardization, security, a basis of and compare is current next generation securities computer network by each bases in case of designs. Analyze an expected effect to have been improved at next generation stock computer network characteristics and merits and substitution width and QoS, communication instrument liquor, an information protection system etc. too. Result of research of this paper will contribute to national competitiveness enhancement and a national economic strength elevation to accomplish u-Korea.

  • In this paper, a protection system using Multi-Agent concept for power distribution network is proposed. Multi agent system consist of Feeder agent, OCR(Over Current Relay) agent, Recloser agent and Switch agent. An agent calculates and corrects its parameter by itself through communication with neighboring agents and its own intelligence algorithm. Simulations in a simple distribution network show the effectiveness of the suggested protection system. Multi-Agent System, protection of distribution network, Communication.

  • This paper reports the development work carried out in respect of a proposed application of Neural Network approach for the Korean Next generation Reactor (KNGR) now referred as APR-1400. The emphasis is on establishing the methodology and the approach to be adopted towards realizing this application in the next generation reactors. Keeping in view the advantages and limitation of Artificial Neural Network Approach, the role of ANN has been limited to plant status or to be more precise plant transient monitoring. The simulation work carried out so far and the results obtained shows that artificial neural network approach caters to the requirements of plant status monitoring and qualifies to be incorporated as a part of proposed operator support systems of the referenced nuclear power plant.
