  • In this paper, we introduce about a new class to analysis of partial discharge signal based on Fuzzy model. We can early diagnose life of power cable through detection of partial discharge signal. However, partial discharge signal detector is difficult because of partial discharge signal is very non-linear. Also, it is very difficult work that separate partial discharge signal from noise. We constructed partial discharge accumulation detection system that use Labview for detection of non-linear partial discharge signal. And analyzed partial discharge signal that is detected by Labview system utilizing Fuzzy model.

부분 방전에 의한 실리콘 케이블의 열화 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Degradation Properties of Silicone Cable due to Partial Discharge)

  • In this study, the characteristics of partial discharge was measured for the four core silicone cable (0.6/1.0 kV, $1.0SQ{\times}4C$) with insulated part of 15 cm and conductor of 1cm. The following results have been confirmed as a result of this study. When the first line of cable is connected to the positive electrode and the second, third line of cable is connected to the negative electrode, it found that the inception voltage and extinction voltage decreased with increasing the line of negative electrode, and the partial discharge charge quantity(Q) increases, while the number of discharge occurrence has decreased. The inception voltage and extinction voltage of partial discharge has decreased with increasing the degradation rate in the 33%, 67%, 100%. Also, it confirmed that the partial discharge charge quantity(Q) and the number of discharge occurrence has decreased.

  • Generally, it is known that many partial discharges are occurred in one voltage cycle. In this case, it is not easy to distinguish between ultrasonic signals caused by the partial discharge. We describes a pattern of the ultrasonic signal by the partial discharge in transformer. The test setup for ultrasonic signal measurement was to simulate a internal partial discharge by using a needle to plane electrodes. We compared the number of partial discharge and ultrasonic signal in one voltage cycle. The results showed that it was possible to distinguish between ultrasonic signals by analysing partial discharge detection method and ultrasonic signal on time domain.

  • We have developed an on-line ultrasonic detector to monitor partial discharge in an operating transformer. The ultrasonic sensor has 150[KHz] resonance frequency and contains a pre-amplifier with 60[㏈] gain. The on-line ultrasonic detector has 50~300[KHz] frequency band-pass filter to remove electrical and mechanical noises from the transformer. This detector has an ultrasonic signal discrimination algorithm which discriminates ultrasonic signals due to partial discharge in a transformer. A moving average method of ultrasonic signal number was employed to effectively monitor the increasing trend of the partial discharge. This paper describes an experience of partial discharge detection in a 154[㎸] operating transformer using an ultrasonic detector. With regards to gas analysis in oil, C2H2 gas was produced with a warning level in this transformer We detected ultrasonic signals on the transformer steel wall, and estimated the position of partial discharge. With further inspection, we found carbonized marks due to partial discharge on the supporting bolt which fastens the windings.

  • Partial discharge patterns were analyzed in the pumped storage generator stator winding. These were measured using partial discharge analyzer(PDA) and digital partial discharge detector(PDD). Slot discharge was discovered in phase A. Discharges at conductor surface were occurred in phase B and in Phase C. Partial discharge patterns from on-line PDA system were compared with those off-line PDD system. The results of two systems are very same in phase A, B and C.

  • In order to apply the partial discharge measuring technique utilizing electrical pulse to the transformer at sites, this paper describes the measuring technique obtaining only the signals due to internal partial discharge in the transformer, but the noises due to external corona which has been a major problem so far. At first, partial discharge and corona noise were simultaneously generated in the model transformer by using needle-plane electrodes and rod-sphere electrodes out of it in a high voltage laboratory, respectively. It was verified that only the partial discharge signals in the transformer could be measured by removing the noise signals from the superposed signals of partial discharges and noises on the grounding wire of the model transformer. By application to a 345kV transformer in service, it was also confirmed that the partial discharge could be on-line monitored by removing the noise signals measured by the inductance sensor on the grounding wire of a 154kV lightning arrester from the superposed signals of internal partial discharge and external corona noise measured by bushing tap coupler of the transformer.

  • We have investigated the characteristic analysis of ultrasonic in case of occurring partial discharge in experimental steel chamber. This study presents the discriminative method of partial discharge by optimum threshold value. We have carried out the experiments of measuring partial discharge numbers between ultrasonic sensor and transducer with changing distance and barrier inside steel chamber. After the measured data were trasformed A/D conversion by GPIB, we used the optimum method of threshold value for counting numbers of partial discharge.
