  • As lighting energy consumption in buildings occupies high ratio, technical researches to solve it have been constantly carried out. However, basic studies on light environment performance evaluation is actually deficient and only at a level of a simple illumination monitoring. Thus, this study has suggest a light environment energy performance evaluation based on actual residence environments to allow setting lighting interoperation and user required illumination. Conclusions from the study are as follows: 1) As the performance evaluation suggested by this study has not only derived lighting energy usage as well as monitored simple indoor illumination distribution, it is quantitative and allows derivation of visual results. 2) The performance evaluation suggested by this study allows inputs of user required illumination through the performance evaluation server, which is able to support for performance evaluations for various works and users. 3) This study has verified validity of the performance evaluation method by analyzing results of lighting energy reduction by executing performance evaluation on changes of light shelf that is a natural lighting system through the suggested performance evaluation method. This study is significant from a viewpoint that it has suggested a quantitative performance evaluation method on the basis of actual residence environments. Those researches concerned on the energy performance evaluation should be constantly progressed from an aspect that they are another solution of the energy problems.

  • Recently, as smartphones are quickly spread to the general public, there are making a difference for use of information and communication methods. In this paper, mobile-based Performance Evaluation Management System(PEMS) that can make middle and high school teachers efficiently manage tasks of performance evaluation was implemented. That were applied to the performance evaluation of teachers. As a result, the tasks of teachers in the performance evaluation was reduced and teachers are able to concentrate on the guidance for students.

  • Nowadays, Information Technology(IT) has become one of the most critical managerial decision areas, because its role in the business practice tends to be more important and hence the amount of the investment in growing. Since there is no dominant and promising measure to evaluate the IT performance, the managements have difficulties on the decision process for IT investment. In this paper, we propose an IT performance evaluation model. The proposed model starts with finding the business performance evaluation areas and the corresponding KPIs, and then concentrates on the IT performance evaluation areas corresponding to the business performance evaluation areas. To extract the specific and reliable KPIs for the IT performance measure, we map the business performance evaluation areas into the corresponding IT performance evaluation areas and then combine and adjust these KPIs with the KPIs obtained from the experiential field interview. Finally, We present the complete model which has 11 business performance indices and 48 IT performance indices are completed.

  • This study aims to construct the integrative performance evaluation model of informatization programs. In order to achieve the purpose of research, first of all, the three major theoretical paradigms (technical/functional, economic/financial, and interpretive/alternative paradigms) are comparatively analyzed concerning their philosophical and methodological perspectives. Also, a number of important studies and research model in the area of IS (Information Systems) evaluation are critically reviewed. And then actual problems and limitations on the process of implementing IS performance evaluation are sought through investigating domestic and foreign practices. Based upon theoretical and practical review of informatization evaluation and logical reasoning, the components of ideal performance evaluation scheme for informatization program are derived, and the integrative performance evaluation model which can comprehensively represent the relationship among the components is conceptually proposed. For researchers, this study provides the theoretical basis for reasonably deriving the performance variables of informatization programs and empirically validating the performance of managing informatization programs. And in real world, the results of this study are very likely to contribute to presenting the practical guideline for desirably implementing performance evaluation of informatization programs.

  • There has been tighten up the need of seismic retrofit about 31 public facilites since published "Korean Earthquake Damage Prevention Law". Therefore, seismic studies have been developed and enforced the studies. Measuring dynamic stiffness of subsurface materials influence on seismic performance evaluation to build up seismic retrofit. The soil dynamic properties for seismic performance evaluation are N-value from using SPT(standard penetration test), dynamic shear elastic modulus and dynamic deformation modulus using laboratory tests. The most unscientific element in ground dynamic properties involved uncertainties is obviously N-value using SPT. This study shows that effect of N-value included natural and artificial uncertainties to seismic performance evaluation of ground structures is not only approached probabilistic analysis using FOSM method and tornado diagram, but also review how to spread effect of seismic performance evaluation of ground structures.

  • The balanced scorecard has drawn attention from many researchers in various fields since its appearance in 1992. It became a norm for performance evaluation framework in many areas, such as marketing, information system evaluation, strategic planning, etc. Centered in the large companies in Korea, the balanced scorecard has been popularly used as a performance evaluation tool for human resource management. Now we Question its applicability to performance evaluation tool even in small business. This study tried to apply the balanced scorecard in developing an information system for performance evaluation in a small business. The study showed that the balanced scorecard can be nicely used in small business as a performance evaluation tool. The process of developing an information system is described in detail. The practitioners are to obtain a lot of insights in designing their human resource management systems from the study results.

  • This study was aimed at analyzing the three-step seismic performance evaluation procedure of Korea Infrastructure Safety Cooperation and proposing a new procedure suitable for unreinforced masonry buildings in Korea. For the study, it was investigated the performance evaluation results of five example URM buildings. First of all, it was found that the performance evaluation procedure for the URM buildings should be different from that for the other structural systems. As a result, a simple procedure of seismic performance evaluation was proposed, which includes elimination of elastic and inelastic push-over analysis and reduction of performance levels and evaluation steps. With the simple procedure, the URM buildings could be evaluated more easily than the other structures. It would be expected that the procedure can provide structural engineers with a simple and easy way to evaluate the seismic performance of the Korean URM buildings. Nevertheless, the procedure must be revised continuously by reflecting new research products for the URM buildings in Korea.

  • In this study, we have developed the performance evaluation model for the optimal soil remediation technology selection. Performance evaluation model is composed in the evaluation of two steps. In the first stage, the candidate technologies are derived according to the conditions of drilling, type and concentration of pollutants, and the saturated/unsaturated of target site. In the second stage, each individual candidate technology is evaluated by performance evaluation model. The performance evaluation model has 5 groups of evaluation items and 12 evaluation items which have their own evaluation index and their own weights through the AHP approach surveying 40 experts. From the case study of actual design cases, the applicability of the performance evaluation model was confirmed.

  • Given the trend of increased apartment buildings and high-rise buildings, the maintenance of apartment buildings has been set a higher value. For this reason, a total performance evaluation model of the existing buildings has recently been developed. But, it has a lack of the management work analysis. The purpose of this study, therefore, is the management work analysis for items selection of maintenance performance evaluation of apartment buildings. Candidate items of Maintenance performance evaluation was made with the existing literature and business system analysis. Easy, systemicity of performance evaluation supplemented doing question to academic experts and housing managers. Finally decided maintenance performance evaluation items are to classify 14 administrative and 15 technical items.

  • A performance evaluation tool makes an important role in order to improve performance of an embedded software which has restricted computing resources. However, existing performance evaluation tools for embedded softwares cannot be used in collaborative development environment because they support only one developer with performance evaluation work under cross development environment. In this paper, we propose a performance evaluation tool for embedded softwares on collaborative development environment. A proposed tool is based on server and client model. It can have flexibility in offering and integrating the result information for the items. Through the suggested tool. developers can intuitively understand and analysis performance evaluation results each other.
