Characteristics of the Stress Reduction and Output Voltage of ST(Switched Trans) Quasi Z-Source Inverter (ST Quasi Z-소스 인버터의 스트레스 저감과 출력전압 특성)

  • This paper proposes a ST(Switched Trans) quasi Z-source inverter using a Switched Trans Cell combing the characteristics of a Switched Inductor Cell and Trans. A DC link inductor of the conventional quasi Z-source inverter is alternated with Switched Trans Cell of the proposed ST quasi Z-source inverter. Trans Cell of the proposed method consists of one Trans and two diodes, and the proposed method has higher and more various boost function than the conventional quasi Z-source inverter by simply changing the turns ratio of primary and secondary of the Trans. The validity of the proposed ST Z-source inverter was confirmed by PSIM simulation and a DSP based experiment under the input voltage 48V and output phase voltage 30V. As a result, when compared with the traditional quasi Z-source inverter, the proposed method has the advantage of the low voltage stress under the same output voltage condition of the voltage.

  • 본 연구에서는 종전의 Quasi Z-source inverter의 장점을 그대로 가지고 있으면서 동일한 동작 조건에서 낮은 스트레스를 보이는 Switched Trans-inductor Z-source inverter를 제안하였다. 제안된 방식은 동일한 조건에서 낮은 전압 스트레스와 전류 스트레스를 가지고 동작 가능하였으며, 따라서 낮은 용량의 수동소자와 능동소자로도 Z-source inverter 구현이 가능하였다.

  • This paper proposes an active switched-capacitor embedded quasi-Z-source inverter (ASC-EqZSI) topology. In order to improve boost ability, One diode and one switch device are added in the qZSI impedance network, and a single dc source is shifted in series with the inductor in the impedance network. The performances of the proposed topology are verified with simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper proposes the method to design the parameters of an impedance network at three-phase QZSI(quasi Z-source inverter) by considering an equivalent series resistance (ESR) in the capacitor. The equations of both two capacitor voltages and two inductor currents are derived at three operating modes of the QZSI. The capacitor voltage ripples caused by the ESR in the capacitor at the transition state of operating modes are calculated. Based on the ripples of both the capacitor voltages and inductor currents, the optimal values of capacitor and inductor are designed. The simulation studies using PSIM and experimental results with DSP are carried out to verify the performance of design method.

  • In this study, an improved LCCT(Inductor-Capacitor-Capacitor-Trans) Z-source inverter(Improved LCCT ZSI) with characteristics of Quasi Z-source inverter(QZSI) and LCCT Z-source inverter(LCCT ZSI) is proposed. The proposed inverter can also reduce the voltage stress and input current/capacitor voltage ripples compared with conventional LCCT ZSI and Quasi ZSI. A two winding trans in Z-impedance network of the conventional LCCT ZSI is replaced by a three winding trans in the proposed inverter. To verify the validity of the proposed inverter, a DSP controlled hardware was made and PSIM simulation was executed for each method. Comparing the current and voltage ripples of each method under the condition of input DC voltage 70[V] and output AC voltage 76[Vrms], the input current and capacitor voltage ripple factors of the proposed inverter were low as 11[%] and 1.4[%] respectively. And, for generation of the same output AC voltage of each method, voltage stress of the proposed inverter was low as 175[V] under the condition of duty ratio D=0.15. As mentioned above, we could know that the proposed inverter have the characteristics of low voltage stress, low ripple factor and low operation duty ratio compared with the conventional methods. Finally, the efficiency according to load change/duty ratio and the transient state characteristics were discussed.

  • This study investigates a bidirectional quasi-Z-source inverter (Bq-ZSI) system with bidirectional power transfer capability and a modified space vector modulation scheme for reducing the ripple of the inductor current. By replacing the diode in the impedance network with an active switch, the power flow can be bidirectional. The average inductor current of the Bq-ZSI network is negative in the regenerative braking mode, thereby regenerating the power. In addition, modified space vector modulation scheme is applied to the Bq-ZSI to control shoot-through time effectively. A 5 kW prototype is built and tested to implement the proposed system. Experimental results show that the Bq-ZSI system is capable of regenerative braking of the induction motor and that the modified space vector modulation method is efficient.

  • In this paper, the operation of current-fed quasi-Z-source inverter (QZSI) with buck-boost function, improved reliability, and regeneration capability is analyzed. The modified space modulation technique for controlling effectively both shoot-through time and zero voltage time is suggested. The simulation result is carried out in order to verify the performance of proposed technique.

  • This paper presents a grid connected photo-voltaic system using a quasi-Z-source inverter (QZSI) for power stage reduction. The power stage can be reduced because of an additional shoot-through stage which is a characteristic of QZSI. Therefore, by utilizing a QZSI the system's efficiency can be increased. In this paper, for applying a QZSI to a PV system, control methods such as maximum power point tracking (MPPT), point of common coupling (PCC) current control and PWM are studied and verified through simulation and experiment. In order to explain the above controllers, the characteristics of a QZSI are first analyzed. Then the MPPT control technique with a modified P&O method, the PCC current control for the regulation of the dc-link capacitor voltage and the PWM methods for the proposed system are explained. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is verified through simulation and experiment with a 3kW system.

  • 본 논문에서는 임베디드 Z-소스 컨버터 2대를 병렬 연결하여 승압 및 강압 기능을 가지는 단상 인버터의 THDi를 비교 분석하였다. 임베디드 Z-소스 인버터는 임베디드 Typical Z-소스 인버터와 임베디 Quasi Z-소스 인버터로 구분되며 각 인버터의 단락비에 따른 출력전류 THDi를 비교하였다. THDi의 비교를 위해 실험 세트를 구성하고 실험 데이터 이용해 비교 분석 하였다.
