A Study on Consumer Oriented GIS : GIS 2.0 (GIS 2.0 : 소비자 참여형 GIS에 대한 고찰)

  • With the development and invention of computer and internet, GIS (Geographic Information System) has provided diverse services to users. Web 2.0, the next generation web, has been developed to create a new business by accumulating and structuring information from many users. The characteristics of Web 2.0 are blog, longtail distribution, SNS, DCC, collective intelligence, and so on. This study proposes a GIS 2.0 service model to maximize the introduction effect and use of GIS by the method that two-way communication and the participation of consumer, characteristics of Web 2.0, are used to build more practical GIS rather than providing spatial information in one-way and simple inquiry oriented way.

  • 기존의 WebGIS는 구현방법에 따라서 서버중심과 클라이언트중심의 WebGIS모델로 구분할 수 있다. 서버중심의 WebGIS모델은 결과데이터가 이미지(JPG,GIF)로 클라이언트에 전송되므로 사용자는 기본적인 GIS 기능만을 처리할 수 있고, 데이터 확대 시 데이터가 손상되는 문제들이 있다. 클라이언트 중심의 WebGIS모델은 벡터데이터(Java-applet, ActiveCGM) 전송을 위해 고가의 특정 소프트웨어를 구입해야 하고, 플랫폼에 의존적이며, 표준화된 포맷이 아니므로 웹에서 데이터 상호 전송 및 호환의 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 WebGIS모델의 전반적인 분석을 통해서 각기 구축된 WebGIS의 구현방법과 문제점에 대해 고찰해 본다. 그리고 이런 문제점들이 대안인 XML(extensible Markup Language)으로 기술된 GML (Geographic Markup Language)과 SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics)를 이용한 WebGIS에 대한 연구와 향후 우리가 연구해야 할 방향에 대해 모색해 본다.

  • Nowdays the need of modeling a real world using computers leads to increase the importance of GIS. Moreover, the wide spread of the Internet service has brought about Web GIS Development. Especially, the tuning of Web GIS system has a crucial role in improving the performance of high resolution image Web GIS system. Thus, this study provides a variety of ways to improve the performance of high resolution image Web GIS system. We have tuned IBM AIX operation system, Oracle, ArcSDE in the database level and Tomcat, ArcIMS in the application level. What is more, we propose ways of coding which can have a positive impact on performance. As a result, the proposed methods guarantee high resolution image Web GIS system to improve performance.

  • Over the past few decades, a considerable number of studies have been conducted on GIS(Geographic Information System) to process spatial date. As GIS comes to be used in many fields and used by many people, Web GIS which is a GIS system used on the internet, was proposed as a good tool to maintain the need. There is an increasing demand for Web GIS to provide more opportunity for users to manage and to analyze geotechnical data. This study mainly focused on the design and application of Web GIS particularly with geotechnical data, including design of efficient database structure for borehole data. A practical application of the Web GIS to tunnelling site has been successfully completed by the design of several analytical functions.

  • The internet GIS site what offered information one-sidedly by early enterpriser was changed to formation as produced and evaluate by users with paradigm of Web 2.0. We look around the existing universal evaluation model of web site and evaluation model of GIS site and propose new evaluate model of GIS site considering web 2.0. A reference point of evaluation model proposed though this study can proposal evaluation model of GIS 2.0 after develop this as a reference point of a evaluation model considering user participate rate.

  • Because the complexity in the development phase of geographic information system, its hard to change its operation or user interface after the development. So we should develop most part of the applied GIS even though previous GIS is almost exist. In other words, reusing the previous system is not easy. Therefore, its required to research reusable GIS for easy construction of applied GIS. This thesis describes design and implementation of web GIS framework which makes applied web GIS development more easy. Framework is software library composed of reusable units such like classes and objects. Proposed web GIS framework Provides basic web GIS functionalities and execution design to web GIS developers. They could extend the framework to build applied web GIS with applied operation and user interface. The development of applied web GIS could be archived by various tools used for general web application development.

  • This article reviewed issues in Korean geographical journals: web GIS and National GIS. Web GIS in Korea is now evolving to mobile GIS, which requires portable hardware, wireless Internet, and GPS receiver. The new trend of mobile GIS is using a smart phone. Recently, a variety of studies for the mobile App and mobile Web in Korea has been developed. With explosive information on the Web 2.0, the Korean government has built the Human-Oriented Geographic Information System (HOGIS) in which Ontology was implemented for semantic query on the Web. On the government side, Korean government has produced various nationwide data through 4-phase NGIS project. Current NGIS ($4^{th}$ phase: 2011-2015) moves toward a Korean Green Geospatial Society using geospatial information as a new growth engine for the future.

  • The u-GIS national land information providing technology is the technology which maximizes the application of u- GIS data through the national land information platform technique of the next generation web and provides a user with the on-demand national land information in the ubiquitous environment. Recently, as the environment emphasizing the web as a platform 'Web 2.0' emerges, the where 2.0 which is paradigm is diffused in the spatial information area. And the Geo-spatial Web technology develops in a center. Moreover, it is changed to the open platform of the user participation trend. And the consumer of the geo-spatial information is changed to the end-user center from the public institution. The geo-spatial technique is technologically faced with the new challenge. In this paper, we analyze the technical tendency about a paradigm, And we present the u-GIS national land information platform technique, the u-GIS national land information visualization technology, the u-GIS national land information GeoDRM integrative technique, and the u-GIS national land information mobile application technology as the essential elemental technology for overcoming this.

  • 기존의 연안해역과 관련된 업무를 담당하는 사용자는 물론 일반사용자들에게도 연안해역에 대한 정보를 공급하기 위해서는 사용자들이 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 인터넷환경을 이용하는 것이 가장 효율적이다. 본 연구에서는 인천연안해역에 대해서 구축된 GIS 데이터베이스와 시스템을 다양한 사용자 계층에게 서비스하기 위하여 Web 상에서 연안해역 GIS 데이터를 조회, 공유, 분석할 수 있는 Web GIS를 구축하였다. 연안해역 관련 GIS 구축의 근본적인 목적은 많은 사용자들이 연안해역과 관련된 데이터를 공유, 분석하고 연안해역 환경에 대한 정책결정의 참고자료로서 활용하는 것이다. 따라서 다양한 사용자들이 이용할 수 있는 연안해역 데이터베이스와 시스템에 대한 연구가 필요하였다 Web GIS는 GIS S/W의 구매 비용을 절감할 수 있고 복잡한 사용법이 없어도 GIS의 기본적인 기능인 데이터의 검색, 분석, 출력이 가능하다는 장점을 가진다. 본 연구에서는 단기적인 GIS 데이터의 공유와 인터넷서비스가 아닌 지속적인 연안해역에 대한 GIS 데이터의 갱신과 활용, 환경 및 수질관련 모델링의 이용과 통합시스템의 구현, 구축데이터의 유통을 목적으로 서해연안 Web GIS를 설계하였고 그 활용도를 검토하였다.
