  • This study is to define the Automated Container Terminal(ACT) and container terminal system. Also, we analyze the present condition of the container terminal system in Pusan port and its automation level by systems approach. And this paper aims at evaluating on the priority of R&D investment until the beginning of the second stage of New Pusan Port Project(2006). In this process we have considered 8 factors (cost, labor, area, time volume, reliability, safety, convenience) to analyze 6 subsystems. The priority order of R&D until target year by sub-systems is as follow : Cargo Handling System〉Transfer System〉Port Entry System〉Storage System(Distribution&Manufacturing System included)〉Inland Transport System〉Port Information System.

A Situations and Improvements on the Rail Freight System (철도화물수송체계의 현황과 개선방안)

  • In this paper, I explain the situations and problems which are focused on the rail freight system. We have a many problems, which have been showed the long freight logistics time, and inadequate fare system. And rail freight system does not have a efficient marketing system, and unit load system. Therefore rail freight has been decreased modal share, which is estimated from 9.65% in 1995 to 6.25% in 2001(ton base). Recently, EU nations and America rail freight system reveals a good outcome, which keeps the balance in the black. The main factors which go into the black, is the enlargement the investment in rail freight and efficient management focusing on the unit load system, fare system, and personnel management. I suggest the several improvement ways, which will be helpful to advance the rail freight system. Fistly, I suggest the speed up the freight rail and efficient fare system. Secondly, I propose the unit load system and the regulation the truck focusing on curtailment of the social cost. Lastly, I make an overture of establishment the comprehensive logistics system.

  • The Maglev(UTM-02) project is leading by Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials and financially supported from the ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. The early development stagy of Maglev(UTM-02) was adopted the general urban railway pneumatic brake system due to the Korea domestic industrial environment. Currently there is two commercial operation Light Railway Train(LRT) system in Korea. One is U-Line in Uijungbu, and the other is Everline in Yongin. Both LRT systems are adopting high performance light weight hydraulic brake system. But those design and manufacturing core technology of the brake system is came from a major brake system companies located from aboard. Currently various studies have been continued to increase practical application and to improve competitiveness on performance for each sub-system of Maglev. Also in case of brake system, developing competitive hydraulic brake system is required. In this study, we have introduced the development process and performance evaluation of the new hydraulic brake system of Maglev.

  • The flow of a universal system-level design methodology consists of system specification, system-level hardware/software partitioning, co-design, co-verification using virtual or physical prototype, and system integration. In this paper, verification environments based-on SystemVerilog and SystemC, one is native-code co-verification environment which makes prompt functional verification possible and another is SystemVerilog layered testbench which makes clock-level verification possible, are implemented. In native-code co-verification, HW and SW parts of SoC are respectively designed with SystemVerilog and SystemC after HW/SW partitioning using SystemC, then the functional interaction between HW and SW parts is carried out as one simulation process. SystemVerilog layered testbench is a verification environment including corner case test of DUT through the randomly generated test-vector. We adopt SystemC to design a component of verification environment which has multiple inheritance, and we combine SystemC design unit with the SystemVerilog layered testbench using SystemVerilog DPI and ModelSim macro. As multiple inheritance is useful for creating class types that combine the properties of two or more class types, the design of verification environment adopting SystemC in this paper can increase the code reusability.

  • This paper shows two models of the duplex system having a fault tolerant system characteristic used in airplane and railway system. The architecture of these systems is based on Mc68000, and we designed the single system, single duplex system, dual system and dual duplex system to evaluate the system characteristic. We calculate the failure rate of components using MIL-SPEC-2l7F and evaluate the reliability, avaliability, safety and MTTF(Mean Time To Failure) of the designed systems by Markov model. We choose our system depending on the developing system characteristic.

  • The integrated management system IMMC system) is developed for machining, measuring and checking by using IBM-PC under Borland C $\^$++/ environment. MMC system consists of following systems : DNC system, MascMC system (for measuring and checking) and MascCAM system : DNC system, MascNC system (for measuring and checking) and MascCAM system (for CAM). And some other modules support MMC system for practical usages. A vertical machining center equipped with FANUC 0MC is used for experiments. Feasibility of the system is confirmed by a large amount of experiments.

  • This paper reviews issues and methodological status of system dynamics and suggest some research agenda for its development in Korea. After reviewing some characteristics of system dynamics approach, including dynamic feedback perspective and endogenous point of view, the paper pointed out methodological characteristics of system dynamics. It seems to be the most notable characteristics of System Dynamics that it use both quantitative and qualitative approach in explaining and modelling reality. Besides, System Dynamicists rely more heavily on refutationism than instrumentalism and this allows System Dynamicists follow more strict way of scientific inquiry. For the development of System Dynamics in Korean academic circle, developing training program and curriculum, networking scattered System Dynamicist all over the country, would be the most important task.

  • This paper seeks to search a improved evaluation system of government sponsored research institutes(GSRI) as a knowledge system It begins with a brief review of the theory of knowledge and knowledge system This is followed by a search of the desirable conditions of the evaluation system of GSRI as a knowledge system These conditions presented are applied within the context of the current evaluation system of GSRI. Finally conclusions are drawn and directions for improvement of the system are outlined.

  • The standardization of the urban transit maintenance system consists of BOM System, maintenance parts code system, and accident/trouble code system standardization. This paper is described only the result of BOM System, maintenance parts code system, and accident/trouble code system standardization. The results of standardization are using urban transit maintenance IT system and apply Expert System, RAMS System, and DATABASE contents of various kinds.

  • An address is sub-spatial data representing a location, and identifies the place in which a resident's life is based. The Korean address system has changed from an area-based address system to the Road Name Address System in 2014 to solve the problems of the area-based address system and to accept the international address standards. Although the Road Name Address System is continually being modified and implemented it limitations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to resolve these limitations and to analyze and redefine the Road Name Address System of Korea to implement the street-based address system. To understand the address, we define the components of the address system and analyze the Korean Road Name Address System based on each component to derive the limit. To resolve the limitations of the Road Name Address System and to implement the street-based address system, the Road Name Address System is redefined according to three aspects. Finally, we evaluate the usability of the Road Name Address System proposed in this study through address based geocoding.
