  • The Web Services descriptions such as DAML-S/OWL-S, BPEL4WS and WSMF focusing on the functional aspects of Web Services have limitations for the representation of the conceptual and semantic capabilities of Web Services, although WSMF is based on ontology and can represent the goal of Web Services. This paper proposes the new description formalism based on the competence ontology that can represent both functional and semantic aspects of Web Services. This paper also presents the integration and the composition of Web Services by means of Data Mediator(D-Mediator) and Control Mediator(C-Mediator) to mediate compositional in compatibility between heterogeneous Web Services.

  • Government itself produces a vast amount of highly valuable information, and the internet increases its potential social and economic value. So far, government provide web services that is web 1.0 style. To meet the user's needs, that is online collaboration and sharing, government web services also change to web 2.0. This paper argues that government could now grasp the opportunities that are emerging in terms of web 2.0. Current policy and action is not yet adequate to grasp these opportunities. So, this study focused on the strategic development of electronic government services based on web 2.0. For the purpose, we reviewed the web 2.0 cases and former electronic government services. And then, we defined government 2.0 that is electronic government services based on web 2.0, and provided reference model of government 2.0. Government 2.0 reference model will help the administrators to find better ways to use the technological infrastructure and save efforts for trial and errors from the lack of systematic approach.

  • Recently, one of the most challenging problems is to compose web services dynamically, that is, on demand. A number of researchers have been considerably interested in the dynamic web services composition. However, while most of them focused on the semi-automatic web services composition with a human controller, very little attention was devoted to the full automation of this process. This paper primarily focuses on the automatic web services composition techniques. The main idea is to implement an automatic web services composition system using web ontologies to realize the semantic web and workflow technologies to play a major role in E-businesses. In this paper, we propose a matching algorithm for web service discovery and present an approach based on the use of ontologies to facilitate the interoperability of web services. Finally, we describe a workflow execution plan to support the automatic web services composition, and an experimental study that shows the high performance of our system.

  • Web Services are a distributed component technology based on XML and Web. The Web Services are used to integrate heterogeneous systems under the distributed environment. In this study, the concept of Web Services for CAD (WSC) is introduced, which aims at interoperation with CAD systems using the Web Services. This paper introduces one part of the WSC which enables remote users or applications to retrieve the geometries and the design history of CAD models using the Web Services. This paper proposes an architecture of the WSC, the data model and the interfaces for retrieving CAD model information, and the way to apply the WSC to commercial CAD systems.

  • A major difference between on-line services and off-line services is in the quality of the service they provide. On-line services lack of dynamic interface between customers and service providers. Traditional studies on personalizing web services do not consider the intimacy level of customers to web services. This study suggests a web personalizing method to satisfy customers in on-line using intimacy theory, cluster analysis, and data mining. The goal of this study is to support customers in web with more intimate service. It also offers improved services to customers by personalizing web services dynamically.

  • Frequency of attacks on web services and the resulting damage continue to grow as web services become popular. Techniques used in web service attacks are usually different from traditional network intrusion techniques, and techniques to protect web services are badly needed. Unfortunately, conventional intrusion detection systems (IDS), especially those based on known attack signatures, are inadequate in providing reasonable degree of security to web services. An application-level IDS, tailored to web services, is needed to overcome such limitations. The first step in developing web application IDS is to analyze known attacks on web services and characterize them so that anomaly-based intrusion defection becomes possible. In this paper, we classified known attack techniques to web services by analyzing causes, locations where such attack can be easily detected, and the potential risks.

  • As the growth of Internet business, many web sites have been developed their own Internet business strategies. Yet, many web sites have difficulties to make profit. In this paper, an economic model is developed to analyze web sites' quality and pricing strategies when they initiate their services as free services and develop advertising services and other charged services. By analyzing the economic model, optimal quality and prices was found. And by analyzing the optimal strategy, I found that web sites should properly decide their market share on initial customer. Finally, the importance of web sites' productivity to make profit is emphasized.

  • The popularity of web services within the IT industry continues to grow as the next generation web technologies. Web services are self·contained, self-describing, modular applications that can be published, located, and invoked across the Web. Web services will be core technology for e-business in the Web. IPv6 is sometimes also called the Next Generation Internet Protocol and is a new version of IP which is designed to be an evolutionary step from IPv4. In this paper, we define problems for adapting web services to IPv6 Environment. This paper survey and explain consideration issues that include standards, components, coexistence of IPv6 and IPv4, etc.

  • The 'convergence service' in NGN implies the integration of services in NGN with a unified manner to access each service in order to interwork with each service. This paper shows the convergence model for NGN based on Web Services and provides a detailed scenario of each convergence model in form of Web Services.
