  • In recent years, the web services composition has received much attention. By web services composition, we mean providing a new service that does not exist on the repository. In this paper, we propose a new system called PSR for web services composition search using a relational database. We also propose algorithms for pre-computing web services composition using joins and indices. We store ontologies from web services in RDBMS, so that the PSR system returns web services composition in order of similarity with user query through the degree of the ontology matching. We demonstrated that our pre-computing web services composition approach in RDBMS yields lower execution time and good scalability when handling a large number of web services and user queries.

  • The web services concept is rising as a standard to integrate heterogeneous systems in distributed environment based on XML messaging. Recently, for that reason, many companies are trying to use web services for their B2C and B2B business. In order to successfully introduce the web services, it is required to guarantee a differentiated quality of web services. However, most of the current web services cannot provide differentiated policies for requested messages and the existing web servers cannot consider appropriately the quality factors of web services in the service level agreement between provider and consumer. In this paper, we analyzed appropriate quality factors of web services in application level and suggested priority allocation strategy for processes dealing with messages of web services using those factors. This strategy can allocate dynamically a priority to satisfy the service level agreement.

  • Recently Web Services choreography working group of W3C has published the working draft on WSCDL (Web Services Choreography Description Language) version 1.0 which defines reusable common rules to govern the ordering of exchanged messages between Web Services participants. This paper considers a computing environment where mobile clients are interacting with Web Services providers based on a WSCDL specification. In order to effectively cope with the user and device mobility of such an environment, in this paper we present an ongoing work to develop a framework through which a mobile client can specify its preference on how conversation should take place. The proposed framework provides a flexible means for mobile clients to minimize the number of message exchanges while allowing them to adhere to the required choreography.

  • With the rapid growth in the demand and supply of web service, the search for superior services has become a prominent issue. Furthermore, much emphasis and attention are being placed on composite web services, where individual services are combined together to form a single workflow to satisfy the demand of the customers. In today's era of excessive expansion of web services, this study intends to propose the execution plan architecture for composite web services to accomplish the following three goals. The first goal is to derive a feasible plan which maximize user satisfaction for composite web services by implementing an execution plan architecture that reflects the Quality of Service criteria. Secondly, this study also aims at analyzing and selecting the indexes that adequately reflects its quality and its nonfunctional property. Finally, this study intends to apply the concept of constraint satisfaction problem and heuristics to reduce the execution duration of the process.

  • Web Services composition has gained a considerable attention because of the widespread use of the Web Services and SOA. Recently, various researches on automatic Web Services composition are on going to realize more dynamic and intelligent SOA environments. However, there is no complete solution for automatic Web Services composition now and previous researches have several problems. Automatic composition based on syntactic information has low correctness through incorrect semantic linking. Moreover, many researches make an process as the result of composition which is hard for actual execution. In this paper, improved automatic Web Services composition based on Web Services choreography is proposed. In this system, the correctness is improved and the result of composition is more concrete process.

  • Internet protocol television (IPTV), one of the most emerging services, offers multimedia streaming services with security, reliability, and relevant quality of service (QoS)/quality of experience (QoE). It provides added values to all the involving players and also brings technical and business challenges to them. For IPTV services, we expect to adopt the next generation network (NGN) environment for high quality and the Web technologies for personalization to meet the customer's necessity. Web can provide an open, flexible, and agile platform. Therefore, in this paper, we propose personalized IPTV services based on Web-based open platform in NGN environment and present functional architecture for Web-based personalized IPTV services. Technical issues for deploying the proposed IPTV services using Web are also provided. The objective of this paper is to analyze the critical architectural issues for developing viable and feasible networking platform models for personalized IPTV services.

  • Web Services are rapidly gaining attention as the service oriented distributed computing paradigm over the Internet. Web services are currently highlighted not only due to its role as an enterprise application integrator, but also as the method of mediating inter-enterprise collaborative works. This research analyzes, categorizes, and provides current status and forecasting of core technology and standardization issues concerning web services. The results of this research could be used as the base information for understanding and establishing strategies concerning the fundamental technologies of web services. Also, the demand and status of domestic markets of web services are thoroughly analyzed. Based on this analysis, guidelines for the adaptation of web services by the government and domestic enterprises are presented. The results of this research provides appropriate alternatives to domestic enterprises by evaluating web service technology trends, and further on provides methods of web services market activation on a national scale

  • In heterogeneous and distributed computing environments, with an increasing number of Web services providing similar functionalities, the reliability of Web services is a critical decision factor. To fulfill the open business model such as cooperation among enterprises, several Web services can be composed into the upper level business transaction. In Web services composition, the reliability of services is more and more critical. Though each unit Web service can be reliable, the reliability of the composed service is not guaranteed. Thus a way to efficiently assess and select composed Web services is needed. In this paper, we define new metrics for measuring the trust value of Web services, and propose an evaluation method to predict the trustworthy degree of the composed services based on the metrics. We also define a conceptual framework to support optimal Web services selection based on the proposed trust evaluation method. By selecting using the quantitative measurement rather than intuitive selection of the service user, it allows the service users to select the high reliable service meeting their quality requirements well.

  • Web service is a standardized software technology which enables interoperability for various applications regardless of operating systems and programing languages through public networks such as the internet and by web service standards. It is distributing computer services that enable a web environment by discovering and providing necessary services. However, there are drawbacks when selecting services for new web environments because current various search methods are based on performance of those services. Even when the performance of the service is improved by selecting web services based on either the service performance or when the new services are discovered, lack of resources causes the web services to get pushed back from the current service list. Therefore, in order to resolve resource allocation issues when selecting web services, this study offers the suitable services for the clients by applying improved services based on scalable information and by applying the information obtained by the clients when requested.
