Abstract

QoS(Quality of Service) 보장은 지속적인 망 자원을 필요로 하는 멀티미디어 응용을 지원하는데 있어 필수적인 사항이다. 최근 들어, 이동망 환경에서도 멀티미디어 응용이 많이 수용됨에 따라 이동망 환경에서의 QoS 지원에 대한 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 QoS를 만족시키기 위해 우선적으로 필요한 것은 QoS 시그널링 프로토콜을 이용하여 멀티미디어 응용이 필요로 하는 대역폭 등 망 자원을 신속하게 예약하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 유선 환경에서뿐 아니라 무선 환경에서도 효율적으로 QoS 자원을 예약하기 위해 제안된 Enhanced-RSVP와 기존의 RSVP의 성능을 이동망 환경에서 측정하고 두 프로토콜의 성능을 비교, 분석한다.
